Great Keen boots
August 22, 2010
I have several Keen boots (Klamath, Oregon PCT, Summit County) and the Voyageur Mid are another great product. These light weight hybrid hikers help keep the feel cool with the mesh, but also provide excellent support which required no break-in time. The footbed contours the feet and allow your feet room to spread even with mid and heavy hiking socks. Highly recommended.
Best everyday shoe for outdoorsy-type in high desert climate.
July 15, 2010
I wore through the outersole of my first pair after about 2 years of daily wear. I just bought a third pair, to stash in the closet, in case they quit making these before I wear out pair #2. My only complaint is that the supplied shoestrings are about 5-6 inches too long.
Excellent Shoe, Highly Recommended.
September 01, 2009
You guys are right, sized up one size larger and they fit perfect. Thanks.
February 06, 2009
I read a lot of reviews that said the Voyageur runs a little small and I agree. I wear a 15 and couldn't get a bigger size BUT found a solution. In my case it seemed the provided foot bed was such that it pushed my toes forward creating an undesirable effect. I removed the foot bed and placed another into the shoe and presto! These shoes fit perfectly and I've been non stop walking since (very rough terrain, up and down hills, etc.). So all in all I recommend the shoe. I love them.
Great hiking shoe
February 05, 2010
Fit was great, narrow tight fighting heel with a wide toe box. Arch support and ventilation were excellent. I ordered one half size larger than my normal street shoe size and the fit was excellent. Usually I need extra wide shoes to get a wide toe box and then the heel is sloppy, and was concerned that no offering in extra wide would be lead to a tight fit. It was not a problem.
Bought 2 pair
June 18, 2009
Pretty much wear Keen products everyday...Newport sandal (could wear these all the time), Austin shoe for work and leisure, Brooklyn Mid for whatever, and then the Voyageur boot for general day wear -my job requires a casual but clean look - these boots are extremely comfortable and I love the color combo of Brindle/Inca Gold - so it looks good with the type of casual clothes I wear out on video shoots. Extremely comfortable - I wear a half size up with Keens - my feet feel so good in Keens I find it difficult to wear anything else. Love these boots so much I bought a second pair since the color combo is so cool.
Very nice boots!
December 25, 2009
These are great boots. They are very light and extremely comfortable. I just had toe surgery and the fit well with room in the toes. I will befitted for orthodics next week and these boots should work well. Highly recommend these!
3 pair so far
July 30, 2009
I have extremely injured feet from an accident and have always searched for the most comfortable shoes. Many have worked for me in the past, but are no longer available. Then, I discovered Keen. I bought a pair a few months ago, and since they were so comfortable, have bought 2 more pair. If these shoes give me this much comfort, I would highly recommend them to anyone. My only suggestion is to order one half size larger.
February 08, 2010
Out of the box comfort and flexibility.
September 29, 2009
Keen makes fabulous footwear. Be aware, if you like their sandals, you may need 1 size larger in the boot.
December 17, 2009
Lightweight, supportive hiking/walking shoe. Looking forward to using it on the trail.
December 31, 2008
Very comfortable, Lots of support in ankle, heel and arch, Plenty of room in the toe. I Love the ventilation, In cold weather I just throw on some wool socks. I wear them all the time except when it is raining. This is my 4th pair of Keens, so I am a Big Fan.
The shoe that won me over
April 25, 2012
I've been trying on many brands and I'm fussy person. When I put on this shoe, I have that feeling 'this is the shoe for me'. Keen won me over with this shoe. This shoe allows me to walk smoothly. You know how some shoes don't go with your walking gait. This one makes you walk freely and comfortably. If confused about your size, try live-chat. Quick and helpful service.
A very comfortable boot
May 18, 2012
If you have a wide foot, the Keen boot is just for you. Most boots I have to order a 1/2 size larger because they get narrow up in the toe box. This creates problems when backpacking, you get heal rubs. These boots fit well, are light and are very comfortable. We will see how they hold up on the Appalachian Trail in June.Pros: lightweight, comfortable
Hurrah for Keen
August 13, 2010
This is my second pair of Keen Mid Voyageur. They are great for walking on uneven terrain littered with stone. They provide great support and are comfortable.
Wet conditions, not wet feet
January 16, 2009
I wear these boots in wet conditions at least for times a week and my feet are always dry. The traction on wet muddy surfaces is excellent. I have been wearing these boots daily for six months in these conditions and they show little wear. In twenty years I have never found a boot that performs as well as these in wet and slippery conditions, with the comfort of a good running shoe.
Tough Gear, they have many miles on them, still in service.
July 16, 2009
Great shoes, my second pair. Great fit, feel broke in right out of the box. Quick service, very pleased with the purchase.
February 15, 2011
This is the 4th pair of Keens I have bought. The boot is wide and boxey which allows great room for your foot and, along with the square toes, should fit most wide feet. I normally order a wide shoe and Keens are one of the few that fit right. They run a little small so order 1/2 size larger than normal. The collar comes up fairly high over the ankle providing good support but does not cinch tight enough to use this boot for multi-day trips with a heavy pack. It is very light and the footbed is one of the most comfortable you will find anywhere. It does breath well although I had to go from a midweight sock to a lighter sock to stop excess moisture but my feet are hot anyways so this should not be a problem for you. This is a fantastic boot for everyday wear, vacations and day/overnight hikes.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, comfortable, lightweight
Typical Keen Quality and Detail
August 02, 2011
I'm a confirmed Keen owner, but this is my first pair of their more hiking-oriented boots (sadly they discontinued my all-time favorite Brooklyn mid, of which I have owned 3 pairs). I live in these shoes, much to the amusement of my SO. They are sturdy and comfortable for light hiking duty and daily chores. They broke-in pretty quickly. I do not use the upper speed laces, finding them more comfortable tied just below.Pros: great everyday shoes, Cons: probably not for hard-core mountaineering
May 12, 2009
I'm a big fan of Keen and these hikers live up to my expectations. Support, traction, ventilation and stability are all there. I would advise that you order a size up though. Even though their sandals fit me perfectly, I have learned from experience that their boots run a little small. I ordered these a size larger and they fit perfect.
January 26, 2010
Bought these for my husband. They're good quality and true to size. They're comfortable too.
June 13, 2010
I bought these boots to protect my ankle on a 3 mile power walk on a gravel road. They are light weight, supportive, breathable and have good traction. I have had them for 8 months and find that the tread is very soft and much of it has worn away in the toe area. I feel this is excessive wear for the moderate use I put them through. The price seems reasonable and despite the rapid wear, which I hope Keen addresses in the future, I would still recommend them for light to moderate uses.
January 04, 2010
Definitely a great item. Comfortable, stylish, kept my feet warm and dry while shoveling 18 inches of snow for 30 minutes. I ordered the size I normally wear in other Keens and found that it fit (contrary to the sizing up that other reviews are recommending). By yourself some!
Very comfortable most of the time
May 08, 2009
I really like these shoes. They ventilation is good making them comfortable in warm and cold weather. There is good toe room. They seem to be well made and do not show much wear after five months. The only problem that I have experienced is that sometimes the tongue will get slightly off center and cause discomfort on the front of my ankle. This can be avoided by loosening the lacing and repositioning the tongue. Wearing very heavy socks seems to help keep the tongue in place also. Overall, these are good shoes and I would buy them again.
Keen Shoes great fit!
June 06, 2009
I have had a problem getting shoes that fit my feet all my life. I have been wearing a pair of Keen water shoes for the past two years and they are simply the best fitting shoes I have ever had, light weight, great support and comfortable soles. So when I was looking for a pair of hiking boots I knew I wanted another pair of Keens, they are everything I had hoped for and I look forward to many years of enjoyable hiking. I highly recommend them to anyone who has a problem finding a shoe with a comfortable and proper fit.
April 20, 2012
These boots are very light weight but really durable. They are very stylish and could be used as dress boots. I love all the Keens that I have owned. The soles give a sufficient amount of traction on the trail, and are comfortable on flat ground. The only con would be they fit me about a half size small. I love these boots.Pros: light weight, Cons: fit half size small
Good shoes for everyday wear
September 03, 2012
These shoes are good for everyday wear and it's lighter than keen Targhee II that I use everyday. I would recommend to buy a 1/2 size bigger than you normal size. I wear size 8 1/2 but for Keen shoes I will buy a aize 9.
December 23, 2009
the keen voyageur boot was exactly what i have been looking for. its comfortable and well suited for hikes in warmer weather, as it is not waterproof. the sizes run a little small though - order 1/2 size larger than usual fit.
Great Mid shoes
February 06, 2009
Very comfortable. So far this is my 4th pair, but my first for midsize boot. Great for hiking and for casual walking, versatile so to speak. The shoe lace is the only thing I can say that does not go with this pair (color did not match)
Great Boots for the price!
January 06, 2010
These are great boots. They are very comfortable and a great fit, as with all Keens. I couldn't be happier with them. They are well made, and this is my second pair of these boots. The uppers are so well made that the soles wear out before the boots. The only improvement I would suggest is making the soles longer lasting. These are great boots for the price though!
Great support, great cushioning
May 20, 2009
I have a lot of trouble with Plantar fasciitis and these boots are the best I have found to support my foot. I did replace the inner sole with "Superfeet" inserts but the innersoles the boot comes with are almost as good. I used these boots for a hiking trip in Italy that covered hiking trails, cobblestone streets and lots of stairs. They were great. I normally wear size 13 but had to return them because they were too small - buy one full size larger.
June 07, 2012
The Voyageur fit me very well right out of the box. I liked its flexibility and lightness, but as with other Keen shoes I have received, the toe rubber and stitching become separated from the bottom of the shoe sometimes.
great boot, but comes unglued
March 26, 2012
great boot - light; comfortable right out of the box; breathes well/moisture absorbs well; color is not as dark as is on website (slate black/harvest gold) but i actually prefer them as is; however... the boots have on each foot come unglued at the sole, which is easy to fix w/shoe-goo, but still...
So far, so good!
May 03, 2009
My husband thinks these are very comfortable. They give both good ankle and arch supports which he needs. The reviews that he read are true. Great shoe!
May 15, 2011
I have worn the winter version of this shoe for two or three yearsAnd was pleasantly surprised to see they have a summer version PS I always buy two pair and alternate them
December 05, 2010
awesome boots i love them fit perfectly look really good i recommend this to all youPros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
May 06, 2010
AA++ product, and they fit comfortably right out of the box. Keens size small so make sure you order a size bigger than you might think you need. I bought the Voyageur two years ago, hiked all over Arizona in the rockiest conditions one can find and this boot lasts and lasts. Finally got DH into a pair and he won't wear anything else! That makes TWO of us!:-))
Another great product from Keen
March 27, 2010
Great product that I believe will do just about anything ask of it. The wide toe box is great and the form fitting heel creates zero blisters and feels like they are already broken in. I have owned several pairs of Keen sandals and I am more than impressed with this shoe.
Just Buy Them
March 10, 2010
First Keen mid shoe (have sandals, hiking shoes)and they are fanstatic. I purchased the Keen's a couple of weeks ago and in the process of breaking them in for a hiking trip next month. Already have fifteen miles on the them with no problems (rubs, blisters, premature breakdown, etc.). I have high arches and the shoe provides plenty of support and "top" of foot room. I ordered half size larger (consistent with other Keen purchases).
The Best Around
May 10, 2012
I have done many hikes. I am a large adult male, 200 lbs. plus. The Keens are the best. They provide stability in the sole, flexibility in the uppers, and are tough as nails. The Voyager model is perfect for warm weather, tough terrain. They are very light for the long climbs. The mid boots do not provide ankle support, but are great ankle protection on scrambles or free climbing! For winter hikes, get the waterproof models. But for Summer hiking, the Voyager and other models provide great boots with plenty of breathability. Sizes run about .5 small (order .5 larger than your regular shoe size).Pros: light, stylish, tough, comfortable
Poor Quality Sole and Lacing Mechanics
October 17, 2009
Either all these reviewers never leave a groomed trail or hike once every 6 months. I have owned 3 pairs of these boots (Keen Men's Voyageur Mid) - the last being my last. I was captivated by the extreme comfort at 1 size up. This overcompensated for the very negative quality aspects. I hike usually every week or 2. My adventures are extreme open country/bolder laden treks of usually 10-12 miles and typically include high mountain sport climbing (not technical). Each pair lasted no more than 5-6 hikes before the soles were worn almost flat. Further, the 2nd lace loop from top, which goes along the side and to an anchor point on the back of the heel ripped off after scrapping a rock on the 1st pair and was shredding on the 3rd pair. If this connection breaks (1st pair), the boot cannot be laced. On all pairs, the parts of the sole that is glued to the uppers, started coming off after the 1st or 2nd hike - albeit not completely.I liked the fit so well that I accepted having to pay $110 every 2 or 3 months for a new pair, but no longer. These boots are not for backcountry or canyon treks, but trail hikers who go out maybe 3 or 4 times a year would probably love them. It seems like they were designed by 3 distinct groups, the high quality Uppers Group, the low quality lowers (sole) group and the low quality lace group. Regards, Bill
