Possibly the best flip flop I've ever owned

I just purchased my third pair of these and I just can't praise them enough. My first pair lasted 4 years of wearing them a LOT. I'm in the southern United States so 'flip flop weather' is effectively most of the year. These sandals are cool, always look great, durable and possibly the most comfortable pair of shoes I own. I don't bang up my toes, they fit great so they don't throw me down and for a pair of sandals that last as long as these, they're a great bargain.

These flip flops are my go-to for pretty much every casual outing. Stub your toe no more. Ever have a few too many, lose your cat-like reflexes and almost eat it on that one part of the sidewalk where you always trip outside your local watering hole? It's no biggie with these, I love them, will never go back to traditional flips. I'm converting all my bros, and even some of the laaaaay-dees.

Having been very happy with another pair of keens, a keen flip seemed a no brainer. I odrered the same size as the other pair I own. They arrived quickly and were of excellent quality. However, they were a bit small and the toe thong seemed to be set back just a bit too far. Returned the shoes and purchased a pair one 1/2 size bigger.

From the minute I put on the waimea's they have been a great fit, great function and sooo comfortable. To make sure you get the right size, go to the manufacturer's site to check your sizing. Their measurement chart was spot on when cross referencing a brand's size I already wore. The toe protector on these it handy for a little bit of protection "off road" and to make them feel more secure, A+ recommended for all!

I've owned several pair of this style over the last 6 years. Not one has failed. I STILL HAVE THEM ALL. They are worn but intact..Compliments on the flipper where ever I go. I wear these about 6 months a year and they always provide great comfort. I've walked in these for several miles on dirt with no problems..And toe stubbing is a thing of the past..Great support as well...great traction too..

I first bought of pair these flip flops from a major department in 2009 for my son. My son is not one for flip flops but because it had the toe protection and they were sturdy my son loved them. He left them on the beach by accident, so I thought this year I would go back to the same store to buy another and they no longer carry them. :-( So I went online and found Altrec! I was able to order the flip flops with ease for my son. My son has bragged about how comfortable they are that I have decided to order a pair for myself! Thanks Altrec

I bought these flip flops after having bought a previous pair of Keen sandals. I took both pairs on a cruise and wore them with equal comfort, though obviously my older ones were broken in quite nicely. Nevertheless, the new ones were very comfortable and held up great! I went about one half size up and they fit just right. (I'd read that sometimes there's an issue with Keen sizing. I noticed on a trip in Jamaica (where we climbed a waterfall) that Keen sandals were the footwear of choice! They held up great on the 900 foot wet trip up the falls.

very hard to break in

these flops r very hard to break in been wearing them for about an hour a day for about a week. developed blisters on the top of my feet. They seem to be made great just like most keen products.

2nd Time Around

So easy to give a positive review as I am now in possession of my 2nd pair of Waimea H2 Flip Flops. The 1st pair lasted over 6 years but my constantly stumbling gait was finally too much even for these rugged "flip flops". Built to go where average flip flops would not dare you will not be tripping over a broken toe-strap anytime soon. The toe-protector saved me from uncounted stubs, bruises and blood spills over the years while the comments from friends & strangers alike (is that a toe-protector?) protected me from boredom whether I liked it or not! I obviously would not have purchased a 2nd pair if I were not so overwhelmingly pleased with my 1st. Thanks Keen.

I was really impressed with these flops. I thought the piece of rubber over the toe would be uncomfortable, but once again KEEN pulled it off. The toe is lined with a really soft piece of material that doesn't irritate the toe or skin at all, and the foot bed is perfect.

Better than other flip flops - you'll never stub a toe. The build quality is good. My last pair of these flip flops lasted for three years of heavy use and were only reluctantly thrown out.

these are by far my favorite beach sandal. They protect your toe. I buy 2 pairs to take advantage of the pricing. Sizing my be a little smaller if you are not used to Keen Sizing go up a size. Order and received in just 2 days...thanks altrec for have the best pricing and fufillment on the web. PT

This is my second pair. The first lasted for 5 years! Comfortable for all-day wear. A bit expensive for "flip flops" but these last. The unusual Keen toe guard saves many a stubbed toe. I rate these as "good" not "excellent" only because, well, they're still just flip flops. if you want more comfort, etc., you need more shoe!

I bought these sandals because a friend has two pairs and he really likes the arch support. These feel very good and definitely support one's feet. I like the toe cover because it protects me from stubbing my big toe, which was a problem at times with my other sandals. I did buy a size 11.5 and had to return them for a size 10.5. Wish Altrec paid shipping two ways.

Not good for long toes

The sole of shoe felt good, but my toes where to long for the toe protector in the front. I also did not care for the look of them in person compared to the on-line view.

This is actually my second attempt at purchasing these sandals, as the first time I bought (and returned them) my size fit a little small. SO shoot for a half size larger than you otherwise purchase. These seems to be unique to these sandals, as my other Keen footwear fits true to size. In terms of quality and comfort, these rugged sandals are well suited to walking, light hiking and even cycling when used with platform/clipped pedals. I wore my previous set of Waimeas to utter destruction. Hopefully, the H2s will meet or exceed that benchmark.

Great flip flops which protect the big toe. Two criticisms--my feet are wide and my last couple toes sometimes hang over the edge. They also kind of look like a women's shoe, but I'm a big Mo so it doesn't bother me.

The non slip feature is great. Good for walking at Walt Disney World after or during summer thunderstorms. Comfortable for walking long distances. There is very little wear for the distances that have to be taveled in this four park system.

Great Flipper, but...

These flippers are great in concept, but they are just a bit off. Don't get me wrong, they still perform better than any other flipper in harsh conditions. The foot strap is just a frog hair too far forward, and it seems a bit too narrow. That is my main complaint. The treading, footbed, and toe protector are nails. I would suggest ordering a half size smaller than your normal order.

These sandals are great. Fit well and once I got used to the fit and feel, I love the big toe "stub guard". Excellent construction and though I have only had them for about a month, I am sure they will wear well. I am glad I bought these sandals. I would recommend these to anyone in the market for a great pair of sandals. Excellent price, too.

Great sandals, Almost like a cross between a flip flop and a sandal. Really protects the big toe also. These are my favorite summer sandal. I was on a hike wearing these flip flops and we encountered a herd of Javalina wild pigs. I have two small dogs and when the pigs attacked I was able to kick out at them because of the covered toe factor I was not harmed and we were able to beat a fast retreat to my car. I pulled out my 44 magnum revolver and shot two pigs to death. I dragged these corpses behind the car to the house and by that time the meat was tenderized. Dogs had a feast Great product Tim

I live in NYC and love wearing these around town. Their comfortable enough to wear all day (and I have bad feet). Plus, the toe covering part helps me to stop stubbing my toe on the uneven sidewalks.

Love, love, love these flip flops. They are great when pushing a stroller, they make putting on the brake doable rather than painful. Really comfortable and the top cover is great for keeping my toes dry in wet grass and it stops me from stubbing my toes. I do really like KEEN sandles and hiking shoes as well and have been wearing Keen shoes almost constantly since I got my first pair.

Great flip flop. It wears much like a sandle. Very lightwight yet durable. I own a sailboat and the shoes have great traction. Beach, boat, poolside or a casul dinner. You may want to buy 2 pair.

These sandals look & feel great. If you are someone that has yellow toenails, these shoes cover them up. You can go out in public without embarrassment. They are well made, have a durable sole, & you can even lightly hike in them. I have the leather version & have no problem getting them wet. They dry quickly. Lots of compliments from people I run into. Comfortable & true to size. Will buy another pair for this summer.

I wear mine from the time it gets up to 50 degrees until the time it gets back down to 50, everyday, for three years. They stay on my feet, protect my toes, don't get to stinky, and are incredibly comfortable. I've hiked over four miles in these sandals on a rocky trail with no problems, run from predators, and worn them to work. They are PERFECT!

I have never been a fan of flip flops, but there is no good alternative for the beach. I have small feet and short toes, so sizing flip flops is challenging because I always have too much space on top. I'm a big fan of Keens. These fit better than most and are comfortable. I like the covered toe feature because it is practical and gives a better appearance of fit for my petite piggies.

ok they look funky but these are really a fantastic shoe. fit is spot on and they are not wide as they may look in the photo. My husband got this second pair because he loves them so much. really glad keens brough the flip flop back. The H2 is a great shoe for being able to slip something on quickly that has a lot of support and protection.

I enjoy this Flip Flop because it covers by big toe nail. I have ugly toe nails so this was perfect. I just bought them and the weather is still bad so I try to wear them when I can. I cant wait till the Summer sitting at my sons baseball game and not to have to worry about my big toe showing.

This is my 3rd pair of Waimeas, and I wear them 90% of the time. I can hike and bike in them without getting sore feet. Also, it is great to have some toe protection when I kick those rocks in the trail!!

These flip-flops are absolute "money". I stumbled across them five years ago and have not gone with another brand since. I'm now on my third pair. The sole is super-sturdy. In fact, my wife, who owns a pair of the women's style forgot her hiking shoes when we recently went to Steamboat Springs. She hiked five miles in this style with absolutely no adverse effects. Yea, they're pricey, but worth every penny, in my book.

Have a couple other styles from Keen, which I love. Needed another Flip Flop for the boating/fishing arsenal, thought these would have been perfect, but after trying them on a few times and walking around the carpet at home, they just weren't for me. They felt awkward for my liking, probably the scalloped toe cap. Either way I love the Keen brand and Altrec is my go to online shop. Bought these flip flops thinking that the name speaks for it's self. I was glad i bought one half size bigger. They are great with the toe cover. Keen just keeps building all kinds of great footware. My Waimea H2 Flip flops are great to wear and comfortable. I don't know about the durability because I just got them. i suspect they will be very durable because the quality seems to be there. They came a couple of days early which was nice. Altrec truly kept up their end of the sale.

Perfect flip flop for walking your dog at night w/o a flashlight. You are safe from stubbed toes. also the toe give you the ability to kick balls, sticks and pine cones to you dog. all that's left is for them to last. time will tell

My third pair of these and love them! Very durable shoes. Good for the lake, pool, mountains and long walks. The toe protection is what sold me. I really like that recycable materials are used on this product. Shopped around and Altrec had the best pricing by far. Speady, on time delivery. On my feet and out the door!

I won a free pair of these 4 years ago, and they've been my primary footwear ever since. Not only have they saved my big toes a number of times, but (while probably not recommended by your favorite podiatrist) they are so comfortable that I run a couple miles in them almost every day between my home and work.

I'm a big fan of Keen and have various footwear products - particularly the H2 sandles. I normally hate flip flops but these are actually great. The toe guard protects your toe but also provides a semi-sandle/shoe feel to the flip flop.
