too wide on the calf

I love these boots and was really sad to get them only to realize they are wide on the calf. I like my boots to fit snug to my leg, these left a big space and I just don't like that particular look. Everything else about them is great but I am returning them. I ordered a 9.5, I am 5'8" and my calf is 14" wide right below my knee.
