I bought these because I really love cushioned wool-blend socks like SmartWool. Adrenaline and my sis told me these were really comfy. My toes slope a lot from my big toe to my little toe, so there is some excess material at the end of the foot that sometimes gives me blisters on my toes when hiking. I thought the foot-specific cut of these socks might help that. It doesn't. There is still excess sock by my pinky toe. If the cut was more tapered as I expected, I'd probably give it 5 stars.
But, that being said, these are great socks. The top of the foot and the leg is different from my other merino socks in that it is more nylon-y feeling and thin which fits better in my everyday shoes. The color pattern is fun, too (I got the plum). The best part though is that the bottoms are quite padded and more like what I'm used to from cushioned merino socks. All in all, a great pair!
