Sneaker styling goes upscale and functional in Keen's ultra-cool Women's Portola casual shoe. At first glance the classic flat lace design looks like a vintage tennis shoe, but look closer and you'll see refined suede leather with only a little canvas running around the bindings. Everything is waterproof so you don't have to hassle with being caught out in a little rain like you would if you were wearing the old-fashioned stuff. Up front you'll spot Keen's patented toe bumper on the Portola, but beneath it all is the proven high traction outsole normally reserved for the popular Bronx shoe design. These Keen shoes are my favorite pair of 4 others. I have flat feet, but they do not hurt me and they have good arch support. The color is nice (Shitake) for work too. Size is very true to other shoe sizes.

I've been a fan of Keens for a while now, and had being eying the Portola. So comfortable straight out of the box. I have flat feet and usually have a hard time finding a good comfortable shoe that won't give me problems - the Portola was just what I needed.

I love just about any Keen shoe whether it is closed toed, such as this one or sandal type. This purchase was my first Portola shoe and I found it to be a bit stiff on the sole surface. I inserted a gel cushioned insole which did the trick to soften the walk.

I wear a size 6.5 and have a foot about as wide. Having this issue limits my shoe selection. I usually end up buying up to an 8.5 just to fit my duck feet into them. Keens are the best thing to happen to my feet! These are so cool and absolutely comfortable and they are really my size, I don't look like a dwarf in clown shoes. This was my first pair, I bought them about a month ago and have now purchased 3 other pair of keens! Please note, I do purchase a 7 because these do run small! I was worried about spending this much on a pair of shoes, but decided to take the leap and will buy keens and no other from now on!

I just do. I had always heard great things about Keen shoes and finally bought myself a pair. Took them on a trip to Vegas where I ran up and down the strip all day and night for three days straight. Never had a single ache in my feet whatsoever. They are super comfy and I think just adorable. Great purchase made even better by the price and service I got here at Altrec!

I am always hesitant in purchasing shoes online in fear of them not fitting or not being comfortable. I ordered my Portolas in the same size as I always wear and they fit great. They are comfy and have lots of cushion and arch support. I did not have to break them in, I just put them on and wore them the whole day. Thanks Altrec!

I normally buy shoes at a size 8 and sneakers at 8.5...everyone said to get 1/2 a size bigger in the reviews so I wasn't sure if I should get the 8.5 or the 9. I went with the 8.5 and I love them! I love to walk around the city and they are comfortable to walk with or run and keep my feet dry in crazy rainy weather! I targeted 3 pairs of shoes I would replace if these were as good as everyone said and they are! And they are cute! :)

Let me just say that I LOVE my Keen Portolas! Super comfy and roomy, and funky too. I'm not sure I really needed that 1/2 size larger, but they feel great on. I think the regular price is a bit much, but look for the sales!

I bought this shoe when it was on sale and am considering buying a second pair. I ordered my true size which is fine for me, however, I would recommend thick-ish socks for the first few wears as the sides rub a bit (at least on my foot). They're great as a casual shoe for traveling and city exploring!

I ordered my regular size and they fit great. Plenty of room in the toe box. They did need a little breaking in, especially at the heel. Lots of support and are a sturdy walking shoe.

These shoes were a recommendation from a coworker. They are quite possibly the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned. The heal is a bit high before breaking in, but once it does they're great. I would highly recommend.

Keen does it again with this Portola shoe. The fit is perfect for my foot as it gives you a nice, roomy toe area. I ordered 1/2 size larger that my Keen sandals and this is the correct fit. I don't even need my orthotics with this shoe as the insert has an arch. Excellent shoe; a winner. Now I have two pairs of Portola.

I had fallen in love with my Newport Sandals which were a recent purchase, so decided I would try another Keen shoe. When I found the Altrec website and read the reviews of women who had tried the Portola I knew I would have to try a pair. Then we took a trip to San Francisco and the only two pair of shoes I took were my Keens. Walked all over and never had foot problems, which I usually have. Thank you! And I ordered the 1/2 size larger as the reviewers suggested! I am sold on Keens! Comfort and support!

The Portola shoe is extremely comfortable. I purchased a pair four months ago and purchased my second pair last week. This shoe is worth the pricey dollar for the comfort and quality. I hope they never change this model. Note: You need to order 1/2 size larger than normal in the Portola shoe.

Surprisingly comfortable for standing and walking all day long. And they're way more stylish than running shoes, which I used to always wear when I knew that I was in for a lot of walking. Was also pleasantly surprised that these worked SO well for my flat feet, since my friends who also own Keens (maybe they don't have Portolas?) have *real* arches.

This pair is my eighth pair of shoes by Keen. The first day I wore them they were comfy. I did feel a slight dig on the back of my ankle, but the next day none and I wore them 10 hours the next day. I just think they needed to relax! Highly recommend! I love keen!

I bought these shoes two months ago after hearing great things about keen shoes. I can not believe how comfortable they are. I am a long distance runner and have hard to fit feet, most shoes I can only wear a couple of hours then I hurt. I have now added these keens to my "shoes that work" list.

I became a fan of the sandels when a friend passed some on to me, and even before i had any i was a fan of how they looked! but the fit of the Portolas couldn't be better - no break-in period at all, where you have blisters on your feet from new shoes. I feel that i got the best value here compared with other sites, and the shoes are excellent.

Loved this shoe from the minute I slipped it on. The insole was very comfortable and the style was just Keen! Haven't reached for my other sneakers since. Great for a short hike or a trip to the store. I have very flat feet and this shoe gave me the support and room I needed. True to size too!

I injured my knee approximately 1 year ago. I bought orthopedic inserts that cost more than $300, however my Keen shoes are more effective! I removed all other footware from my closet and now have a collection of Keen shoes in a variety of colors.

This shoe is pretty wide even though it says Medium. It's good for me since I have wide feet. I bought a half size bigger and they fit perfectly. The shoe is a little hard unlike a regular tennis shoe, definately not a sneaker since it makes noise on my hardwood floors. I think they need an insole for cushion. I wore them on a two mile walk and my feet were really sore on the bottoms from the hard soles. I wore them in the rain and they kept my feet warm and dry. I bought the black and really like the way they look with jeans. They are my "go to" shoe whenever I wear jeans and I'm definately buying a second pair in a different color.

I just purchased my second pair of Keen Portola's, and look forward to sporting them around town or at the office. They are extremely comfortable and practical, especially for those who spend long periods of time on their feet. There are some who will say the toe box makes your foot look chunky, however I have found the opposite. I wear a 9.5, and family members have noted this shoe makes my foot look smaller. If you are looking for comfort, Keen is the way to go for most people.

I am enjoying these Keens- I wear them almost every day! Great Fall shoes, and I've even gotten compliments on the way they look. These are also true to size. The only drawback (if it is one at all) is they are hard to get on and off. I am used to wearing the Keen Providence, so I don't usually have to mess with laces. It is far worth the trade-off though.

What a relief to fine these shoes.. I was involved in a bad head on collison 4/8/05. I had almosy lost my right foot.Know shoe would fit me and very uncomfortable.........My sister bought a pair (oh how ughly!) Now I have a pair, they support my ankle and alot of room for the mashed toes. Even my othro Doctor love them and took the name down. Thank you so much for giving me pain free walking again,even though I'm still in reh, They sure help my balance.

and comfortable, too, although I had to make sure not to wear them more than a few hours the first couple of times - they are roomy (once you order a half size up), but I think they're a little hard on the heels and ankles and need "broken in". All in all I'm happy with my choice, though.

Cool shoes. i got a little bit of a blister when I first got them, but they are softening up beautifully. I have worn them a bit looser to help with the stiff backs and this works well.

The overall comfort of the Portola is great. The only problem I had with this style is the hard backed heel rubs on my heel and I now have a blister. I am going to try the Presido or the Bronx style. They have the softer backs. But over all they are really cute and have a great footbed. Oh and I also had to order a half size larger.

Great shoe - I wore mine all over London for an entire week. They were very comfortable and my feet never hurt. They are not the most attractive, but great for walking and using the subways, etc. I ordered 1/2 size larger than I normally wear, and they fit perfect.

... Probably not for those with fibromyalgia or soft tissue issues in the feet & legs. The fit of the 8.5 was PERFECT (the 9 too big) on my usually 8.5W feet. Totally adorable, did make my feet look tiny. BUT they're so stiff no matter which way I laced them they caused immediate aching. But the support, fit, and style are so wonderful, and Altrec's service (through exchange, retry, return, and fast credit of what I spent) I will be ordering a softer Keen shoe from Altrec soon!
