Great Boots!
April 22, 2012
Love these boots! They look great and fit well. I ordered half a size up because I read that they ran a little small. The boots I ordered fit perfect. I haven't got the chance to try them out in the field yet, but the Keens I ordered before held up well and I expect the same of these.
Comfortable right out of the box
January 22, 2012
These all leather hiking boots are super comfortable and didn't need any breaking in. I went on an 8 mile hike the first weekend I had them and no blisters. The fit is great, with a nice roomy toe box and decent support. Only downside seems to be that your feet don't dry if they to start sweat a little, guess that's because of the waterproof membrane. Otherwise they're perfect.
Pros: comfortable, light, waterproof, sturdyExcellent fit

Looking for that perfect fit. Here it is. Comfortable, supportive, well made, durable, reliable on all terrain. Was looking for a boot to wear to hike the Camino in Spain in the Spring. Tried others on, but nothing compared to this Keen boot.
a definite

I adore these boots. I feel like I am floating on air when walking in these boots because they are the most comfortable boot I ever owned. These boots will serve you well for a long long time.
Pros: a great investmentExcellent Support

This boot runs true to size while wearing a heavy sock. Great cushion and support. My feet stay put in the boot and don't slide around. I would recommend this boot to others.
Great Boots

I love these boots. Great footbed and toe room. You can put them on a starting hiking. Keen is the only boot I will purchase and the Pyrenees are light weight, water proof and extremely comfortable. Great for backpacking and hiking.
Women's Pyrenees Hiking Boots
June 01, 2011
These are the greatest hiking boots. I am very hard to fit because I have a wide foot, and Keen Pyrenees give me the extra width I need and I also appreciate the high top because it gives me extra ankle support and it feels so secure and its like an extension of my leg. I am ready to buy my second pair. I hope these boots are always available. Thank You for your service. Colleen
I wish they had fit

Great in many ways. Love the footbed and toe room. Unfortunately the leather rubbed wrong in a few places. When the bend at the ankle started to break in (within 15 minutes) it dug in to my instep and since it was at a seam I was concerned it would not break in further and stop being a bother. Also, the gusset on the tongue looks great but in reality does not give very well so it was hard to tie them as tight over my instep as I like. I love my Keen Toyah shoes and was hoping for the same satisfaction here. I said I'd recommend them because I'm hoping it was my fit and not the shoes in general.
Pros: footbed, wide toe boxGood, sturdy boot

These boots felt comfortable out of the box. I've worn them on numerous hiking trips .. boulders, scree, muck, ice .. and they've held up great and kept my feet dry. Love the toe "stub feature. My only complaint is the laces don't stay tight around the ankles. Now .. if Keen would only make a boot with the "crank" tightening feature I wouldn't have to take off gloves to tighten the laces.
Great shoe

Fits great, very comfortable, much room in Toe area, excellent control and it is water proof. A little bulky at first for me especially when driving. The first day I received these shoes I went out and walked two miles in them on a paved road. They are very, very comfortable. I like the cushioned ankle support and the airy feeling each step has. I don't feel like they have worked anything yet but as another reviewer said, she didn't feel anything until the next morning, which I did. So far, however, I think these are great shoes.
Pros: Performance, Great valueGreat value

A comfortable hiking boot even with my very bulky orthotics. I found the boots easy to get in and out of. I was unsure about ankle rub, but took a chance due to the great return policy of Altrec. After a couple of 8 mile hikes, the leather softened up and I had no more concern. My only surprise was that the boots were wet throughout after a 5 mile snowshoe, although admittedly it was very wet snow. I like the boots more each time I wear them. An excellent value.
Bummer!

This shoe is a fortress to get into. Great patience was needed to get my foot into the right shoe, but I figured it would soften up with time, and once in, I found it quite comfy and a great fit. It took even longer to get into the left shoe, I almost gave up. The tongue did not tuck in on either shoe when tied, which made me question how well they would keep water and mud out. I wish these shoes were easier to put on and more secure closing, because I love KEENS and have usually found them to be quite reliable in terms of comfort and durability. These are going back and I'm getting me another pair Targhees. I gave my first ones to my daughter, who lives in Washington State.
Pros: comfy footbedAwesome boots even out of the box

I wore these out of the box for an hour walk around town because the following day I was doing a VERY rocky 15.5 mile hike in northeastern PA. After using them around town I felt completely comfortable trying them for an all day hike on the trail. They're very comfortable and Keens fit perfectly to my feet. These have enough flex and bend to not be obstructive or heavy and bulky. I was looking to add a boot to my wardrobe as I currently only have Merrell Moab Ventilators. Those aren't enough for these kinds of rocks and hikes longer than 8 miles. The Keen boots were fantastic and my feet and toes felt completely fine by the end of the day, something I had never experienced before. The one and only problem I experienced was ankle soreness. I've never worn boots before and I had a tremendous amount of pain - bruising and swelling around the tops of my ankles from the tops of the boots because of the extremely rocky terrain. I thought I had the laces loose enough but obviously not. I went out again three days later to hike 13 miles - the most notoriously rocky section along the entire Appalachian Trail. I kept the top eyehole open completely and had the boots tied as loose as possible. This helped but the terrain got the best of me again and my ankles were trashed in the end. I'm sure it will take time for my ankles and my boots to get used to each other but because I am so satisfied with everything else about this product, I would never consider returning them. They're perfect and everything I was looking for in a sturdy boot without being too much. I've also tried Keen Genoa Peak shoes, Vasque Mantra mids, and another pair of Merrells that I wasn't happy with. These blow them all out of the water.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueVery nice looking!

Bought the Keens with no former product knowledge. I bought the boots based on comfort of initial fit and price. And very nice looking! Typically, you need about 1/2 size larger than your normal shoe size in a Keen. But in this shoe, I think you'll take your normal size. These were waterproof, unbelievably comfortable and offered great traction.
Pros: Great designNot Too Fancy, Not Too Stiff, Just Right

I really like these boots, because they feel comfortable right out of the box and are really light. I also love that they are pretty plain looking. Can't wait to wear them on my upcoming trip to Rocky Mt National Park!
Love these boots!

These feel good and look great! And I'm a female size 10. I got the Bison color. Planning a trip to Iceland in Sept 2010 so I have plenty of time to break them in - though the only part that needs a bit of wear is the top front that touches my shins. Maybe I should get some new socks.
strongly recommended

Another winner from Keen. These boots were very comfortable- right out of the box. They have good ankle support, and are quite study without being too rigid. I wear orthotics which make some shoes uncomfortable, but thy fit in these boots well.
Keep your feet dry in any conditions
March 24, 2010
These boots are great. They are waterproof for the rainy and muddy springs we have in Wisconsin. They are also very comfortable and didn't take much breaking in at all. If you are looking for a durable boot for all conditions, I would definitely recommend these.
Not great for high arches, but great otherwise
March 23, 2010
I ordered these 1/2 size larger than my regular boot size and both boots were tight across my arches--before they were even laced! However, I also ordered them 1/2 size larger in the equivalent men's size, and those boots were quite comfortable ( I could have probably taken them 1/2 size down). They are sturdy, well-cushioned and give good ankle support. In the end, though, I went with the Targhees (also in a man's boot) because they suited my foot best.
Keens are simply the best

Not only are these boots comfortable right out of the box, but they're very cute! That's not a big priority in my hiking boots, but it's a little plus! Good traction, comfortable ankle support...I'm sure I'll be wearing these for years and will replace them with more Keens when I wear them out.
Field Boots
March 03, 2010
I ordered these for field camp in the summer because I needed something waterproof and durable. They are super comfortable and I have been wearing them to break them in, and I think they're really cute as far as hiking boots go. I have bony ankles and they hurt a little around the ankle, but I suspect this will go away with wear. I can kick whatever I want without scuffing them, which is a nice bonus. I live in Florida and they do not seem to be too hot or too cold, and since my field camp is in the mountains they need to accommodate extreme temperature differences, which they seem to do. I wear a 9-9.5 and I got the 9.5 and they fit great. Although they are a little snug when I wear thick or two pairs of socks, they are leather and will probably stretch. I would highly recommend them!
Wow, great shoes, extremely comfortable
