Very happy!
October 21, 2010
I had called Customer Service to find out how high these boots are compared to another boot. Theresa (?) was most helpful...actually went to the warehouse to measure both boots in two different sizes. (HOLY COW!!!) They arrived on time and I took them for a test drive immediately. I had blisters on my heel from my last excursion, and these fit perfectly (1/2 size larger than I usually wear), and my heel didn't suffer further damage. They are comfortable right out of the box, flexible (yet stable), and very light weight.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valuekeen hiking boots

Stolen by daughter!
November 10, 2010
I wish I could wear these to work! Great arch support and traction is important to me as I'm getting older and paranoid of slipping on wet trails. These have great traction. The high back is a bit hard to get used to but I wanted the extra height for light So. Cal mountain snows and puddles. Bottom line: my college daughter just walked off with them this weekend so I'll be buying another pair!!
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, good tractionGreat boots!
January 03, 2012
Bought these for my college age daughter for her birthday. She went to a local store to test fit another brand of boots, but she saw the Keen boots and really liked the way they looked and felt. She normally wears a size 9 but bought size 9.5 which is perfect with her thick hiking socks. She really liked the way the the rubber came up over the tip of the toe for more protection. Altrec had more color choices and a better price than the local store. Love the boots!
Pros: waterproof, really comfortableDid you recently buy the Keen Targhee II Mid Hiking Boot? Write a review.

The best hiking boots!
January 12, 2011
This is my fifth pair of Keen shoes. They are the best! I have a low profile Keen Targhee 11 and just purchased the mid high profile for winter. I walk my dogs every day and need a comfortable, waterproof boot. Keen boots are very durable. I would highly recommend these boots.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueLove these boots
September 21, 2012
I have basically live in the Keen Targhee shoe but wanted a ankle high boot for added support on my longer hikes. The very first wearing the Keen Targhee Mid Hiking boot was a 10.7 mile hike. I found great support of my ankle which also resulted in less knee pain. Really like the "locking" hook on the top of the laces that keep the laces nice and tight despite 4 hours of hiking.

I recommend purchasing these great boots a size bigger than normal shoe size. They are very comfortable, stylish, and feel great while hiking long distances.

March 31, 2011
I bought Women's Targhee II Mid Hiking Boot for my wife because I really like Men's. Targhee II Mid Hiking Boot is the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I use one for my work, firming. The shoes are different from other products. My wife also likes to wear it for hinking. Other shoes have not really fited her feet except this product. Her feet used to get hurt every time we went hinking. I really reccomend to other people.
second purchase
November 18, 2010
These are my second pair because not only were they on sale, but I wanted a back up. Usually when I find something great, it's discontinued. I have not had a problem with my other Keens. Same everything...color, style. First pair I wore on a 10 mile hike. No blisters, no laces coming untied. My feet were tired but I think that would be normal. I am really happy with these boots and would buy another pair if I had the money! I do put other insoles in them but I have to with all my shoes. I go with water proof because I don't like wet feet while hiking especially in the winter. These are fantastic in my opinion and to me, are true to size.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of useGreat Boot
September 27, 2010
These boots I bought to get serious about hiking again with. They are comfortable right out of the box. I didn't need a big break in period for them. Seem to run true to size for my feet. Comfortable hiking in them all day.
Pros: Performance, Ease of use, Great valueGreat Boot
February 10, 2011
I love these boots. I love all my Keen shoes and I have many. I walk our pasture and woods once or twice everyday. I have been wearing these to walk in 6-12 inch snow this winter. They have excellent ankle and foot support. They keep my feet warm and toasty, never wet. Good toe box, plenty of room to wiggle the toes. I would suggest ordering 1/2 size larger than your normal size.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Great valueLOVE LOVE LOVE MY BOOTS
March 22, 2012
Absolutely the best boot purchase I have made. I am a 55 year old occasional hiker. They fit true to size, did not need breaking in at all and immediately gave my ankles and knees more support. I would highly recommend this boot with no reservations!
Pros: everything, Cons: didn't order soonerMost comfortable hiking boot I have ever had

Wow! Comfortable from the get go, wide toe box, good arch and ankle support, perfect fit. I feel like I could hike Mt. Everest -- ok, get real, how about Mt. Rainier. What's not to like?!

Great Boots
January 31, 2011
I purchased these boots for my wife for a trip. The boots were very comfortable and required no break in as some of the hiking boots I have had required. Waterproof through reasonable muck and streams. Comfortable enough for her to wear when not hiking and just cold. I heard no complaints about the boots our whole trip. That is saying alot!
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of useGreat boots
September 10, 2011
These boots are great! I bought them just before doing a 5 day, 42 mile hike on moderate terrain. They performed wonderfully. I was worried about the lack of a good break-in period, but it really wasn't needed. I ordered a size 8 based on previous reviews (I usually wear a size 6.5 in shoes or a 7 in boots) and the fit is great, especially after a long day of hiking. I have bunions and it's difficult to find boots that don't irritate my toes, but these kept me pain-free! I haven't worn them out in heavy rain yet, but they've kept me dry walking through mud. They are also a very stylish pair of hiking boots (I bought the pair with coral colored straps).
A Beginner's Hiking Boot
October 18, 2010
I took these on a 5 day hike carrying 30 lbs in Colorado this past summer. By the end I had a blister on my ankle and a couple of hot spots. They look good and feel good for a day or two but are not meant for long hiking or backpacking. I spent more money and upgraded to a more quality boot that can serve both easy and hard trips.
Pros: Great value, Cons: Low performanceFinally a great waterproof boot
July 23, 2011
These boots are perfect. Comfortable and great for hiking on various terrains. I hike with my dog and need traction up-hill & down-hill, sometimes she sneaks off. I have to go get her in areas/terrains I would never attempt, but these boots get me there and back. I usually wear a 5 1/2, but purchased a six. My feet are a little wide r than most that wear a 5 1/2 and there is enough room to wear mid weight wool socks.
Pros: fit, functuin, Cons: noneKeen Women's Targhee II Mid Hiking Boot
January 24, 2011
I purchased the boots 1/2 size larger as recommended based on a posted review and the boot fit was accurate. I purchased my boots 5 months earlier than my hiking trip in May 2011 to the Grand Canyon to ensure they would be well broken in. I received my boots on January 15, 2011 and these boots were comfortable the first day I wore them for 8 hours. I have been wearing them for at least 8 hours every other day since received. I am suprised by the comfort of these boots and that there would have been no need to prepare for a 5 month break in period.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Great valueGF Loves Them
December 05, 2010
Chose to go with these boots because my girlfriend always seems to hurt herself when climbing or hiking. The toe gives an adequate amount of protection, and the high tops provide nice ankle support. The waterproofing on these shoes has held up very well, and it seems like choosing these Keen boots was a good choice.
Pros: Build quality, Lasts foreverGreat Boots
January 13, 2012
These are great boots. The fit is exactly what I would expect from Keen products. Appreciate the roomy toe box and the arch support. I purchased the Keen boot because I was looking for greater weather protection and warmth than I get with my regular Keen shoes, and discovered the ankle support of the boot gives greater stability on uneven terrain. I think the waterproof feature will be useful on early spring hikes. I am generally a size 9 and the fit is just right. I highly recommend them to other hikers.
Pros: fit, comfort, Performance, styleNew hiking and walking shoes
February 25, 2011
I had a comfortable pair of hiking shoes that I used daily to walk 3 miles with my dog and the heels literally pulled away from the soles. I searched alot on the internet and found that these boots are highly recommended by all who have tried them. They were comfortable as many stated right out of the box. They do feel quite stiff still around the ankles and sure with time will soften up. Nice quality and color. They do have a square toe which is different than my North Face or Merrells. Fit is exact.
Pros: Great valueLove These Boots
March 13, 2011
These boots are so comfortable. They are so light for hiking boots. My husband has had a pair for 3 months and they are his favorite casual wear. They have become mine just since they arrived. I sized up a half size to accommodate thicker hiking socks. Fit perfectly. Would recommend for women who just want a good walking boot or are full tilt outdoors women.
Not just for hiking!
October 02, 2011
I ordered this boot in the hopes that I could use it for more than just hiking. I have two little boys who I like to include on all my adventures, which entail more than just hiking! I am practically rabid over Keens, having been introduced to them this summer when I purchased their Venice H2 and Newport H2. I love the versatility of Keen and the quality of their product. I used to choose fashion over comfort with footwear, but a bad case of plantar fasciatis has cured me of that. I look for excuses to wear my Keens instead of any other shoe. So, when fall arrived and I needed a new fall shoe, I settled on the Targhee II because it received so many positive reviews and because the chocolate chip/living coral pair was just adorable! I utilized the Live Chat and some other reviewers' advice to discern that this boot could be used for other outdoor activities like walking in the neighborhood, trips to the park, trips around town, etc. Because of the outstanding comfort and stability the boot provides, coupled with a waterproof leather and the very cute colors it comes in, I give the Targhee an active mom's stamp of approval! So get out there and chase your little kids around! Leash up the dog and get moving! These boots make it extra fun!
these boots rock!
November 17, 2010
You've heard it said "right out of the box comfort" but it really is true about these Keen boots. I like a little wider toe box for a hiking boot and these boots fit me just right. They not only feel good, but also keep your feet dry, have decent traction, even in snowy, wet conditions, are light on your feet, and feel supportive and flexible on the rockiest terrain. This is my second pair of Targhee ii's, I have a pair of low tops which I have worn for a couple of summers. I hike in rough terrain every day, regardless of the weather, and would totally recommend these boots to anyone who loves to hike in comfort and style! Go, Keen!! Your boots rock!

excellent women's hiking boots
October 04, 2010
My wife's boots fit perfectly based on other reviews to get a size 1 larger than usual. She normally wears 8 1/2 shoes. The 9 1/2 hiking boots are a perfect match for her. We have gone on several hikes and she loves how there was no break-in required for them. I would recommend them to anyone on the fence regarding a great pair of hiking boots.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Great valueNice shoe, but not for my feet
August 10, 2011
The shoes look to be good quality, and felt good right when I put them on, but after walking around the house a few minutes, the ankle area of the boot was too stiff, and the shoe was feeling a little short in the toe. I'm hard to fit though, and it's probably more a problem with my feet. I wear inserts for pronated ankles. I need support on the ankles, but don't want to feel like it's bruising my leg, even with the cushioning. I ended up with Timberlines that seem a little roomier in the ankle, and longer in the toe in the same size. Both were size 10s.
Cons: too snug in the ankle, a bit too shortSOOOO Comfy!
August 10, 2011
I love this boot. Wore it out after many hikes in the Blue Ridge Mountains and am back for a second pair. Kept my feet dry when crossing shallow creeks and were more comfortable than some of my sneakers. The heel is very cushioned which makes it not only comfortable, but protects your ankle. They definately run small. Their site says 1/2 size, but I wear a 7.5 ladies shoe and I definately need an 8.5 in these. A size 9 might be even better to give me another couple of millimeters to accomodate for swelling on longer hikes.
Pros: comfort, cushy heel, Cons: wish the toe box was a tiny bit roomierComfy
September 15, 2011
All of the Keen shoes are great! I have the water sandals and wore them river rafting and loved them. Just bought the Hiking Boots and bought my normal shoe size. They were too small and I had to send them back. Make sure to go up a size on their Hiking Boots.

Great Boot
February 15, 2011
I own Keen Newport sandals and Keen Presidio shoes that I work 12 hour days in. When I started looking for a hiking boot, Keen was a logical option. I currently use Merrill hiking shoes, but I am so in love with my other Keens I had to give them a shot. I am not disappointed! Very comfortable right out of the box. I bought a 1/2 size up and they are perfect! I love the wide toe box. They just cover my ankle bone (I'm 5' 1") and are very comfortable around the ankle, No rubbing or sore spots. They feel great! I highly recommend them!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, PerformanceTHE BEST hiking boots!
October 31, 2010
I wore these boots and hiked all over Yosemite National Park and Northern CA. They didn't require any breaking-in. Extremely comfortable and durable shoes! Walked through streams and snow and my feet stayed perfectly dry. Highly recommended!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueThey come with me on every trip
May 26, 2011
I love my Targhee II's. I'm an avid hiker/backpacker with flat feet and a bunion, and this shoe is very comfortable and can get me through a long day of hiking in comfort. I like the shoelace locks- they don't look like much but they really hold the laces exactly to how tight you cinch them. The mid-ankle height keeps my ankles from turning, and the breathable 'goretex'-like waterproof coating really works. My only issue with these boots was sizing. I am normally an 8.5, or 39 European. I have a lot of Keen shoes, and I almost always fit into the size 9, as Keens seem to run small. When I ordered the Targhee II, I ordered my usual nine, but my toes were hitting the front of the boot. So I'm actually wearing these in a 9.5, a full size larger than my normal shoe size.
Pros: shoelace system, Cons: sizingComfortable Boot
September 03, 2011
I've been wearing these as everyday boots for several months now, and love them! They are extremely comfortable right out of the box - usually I go through several rounds of blisters with all of my shoes, but not with KEENs. I did a lot of research on their boots and chose these for their arch support, which has been great. I've also worn them out in the rain and mud several times, and they remain perfectly dry and clean off well, plus their traction has remained good so far. Another great feature of these boots is that they are extremely easy to put on because of the hook at the top, which means that they will probably last longer in the heel than their predecessors. One thing I should note is that the brown color (chocolate chip) is quite a bit darker than depicted, and because of the wide toe box, they're not the most feminine-looking boot on the market. Overall, I've been extremely pleased with these boots.
Pros: comfort, waterproof, qualityOctober 05, 2011
I am a 63 year old woman, who is planning to finish the Coast2Coast hike across England next year. I now will be wearing my Keen Targhee mid hiking boots for the 90+ mile walk. I first tried these boot on in Nova Scotia, and came home to order a pair. I broke them in for a day or two wearing them around the house, and just last Saturday, did a 6 mile rugged hike in the Deem Wilderness. My feet were as comfortable at the end of my hike as at the very beginning. These are a true 'experience' to wear!!!! I've gone through several pair of Ecco, #the soles came completely off of the last pair in about an hour of hiking.# A pair of Vasque, and another pair from the local farm store. None of them can touch the Keen boots for support, comfort and quality! I have a small, #size 6# foot, built like a brick....SQUARE, and with an extremely high arch. In all, very difficult to fit properly. These boots did it all. !!!!!! Kathy from Columbus, IN
Great for anyone!
April 28, 2010
I've never bought a pair of hiking boots because I've never hiked before, but with these lightweight, perfect fitting (I bought a half size larger and they are perfect with the heavy socks), stylish boots my feet stayed safe, dry, and comfortable for the whole week-long trip! I'm looking forward to future trips in these boots as well as other products/equipment from Keen!
Great Right Out of the Box

These boots have superior construction, as you would expect from Keen. They are comfortable right out of box with almost no break-in time. I can wear them all day long without them feeling constraining or heavy.

Optimum Hiking Boots
March 09, 2011
This is by far the best hiking boot that I have every purchased. The KEEN brand is superior for support, design, functionality, and durability. It is true to size but some order a half size up for greater comfort as this is personal preference. I am 5' 5" and weigh 110 lbs so I ordered this boot in my regular size and I am extremely satisfied. It provides fantastic support when I am climbing and trekking in the woods and I love the design. It is the perfect boot for elegance in style with optimum functionality. I have a severe neck injury from a car accident so the gripping action in the soles greatly helps me to prevent falls. Another plus is that Altrec is an excellent company. The boots came well-packed and arrived very fast. I found their customer service to be exemplary plus they are the only outdoor store I know of that offers a lifetime guarantee for their products.
Pros: design, functionality, safety, durabilityLove my Keen Hiking Boots!
April 28, 2011
This is my 2nd pair of Keen Targhee II Mid Hiking Boots. My first pair went many places in the world and have kept my feet dry and comfortable with hours of hiking. Highly recommend! No break-in needed.
Pros: comfortable, waterproofGreat Boots!!
September 08, 2011
I love these boots. I bought a 1/2 size larger, fit perfectly. I wore them on a 8 mile hike in various terrains and they were very comfortable. I got caught in a rain shower and my feet stayed dry. This is my second pair of Keen boots and I would highly recommend them to everyone who enjoys hiking.
Pros: good ankle support., Cons: noneMost comfortable hiking boots I've owned!
August 12, 2011
These boots fit my wide flat feet wonderfully and required no break in. I wore them on a three day hiking trip in the Sangre de Cristos straight out of the box and my feet felt great. The soles are quite a bit more flexible than my rugged full-leather backpacking boots, but provided a lot more support than my Merrell Moabs, which is exactly what I was looking for. The toe box has plenty of room, which meant no more rubbing or blisters on my little toe like other boots have caused. The waterproofing worked great for stream crossing. I can't comment on the longevity, since I've only worn them a few times. But so far, I love them!
Pros: comfortableWomen's Targhee II Mid Hiking Boot
March 16, 2011
I used my new boots for the first time this past weekend. Only a 4 mile hike but I really like the boots. I did order 1/2 size larger and they fit fine. I can even wear thicker hiking socks comfortably. I was most impressed with their light weight. They certainly don't feel like clunky hiking boots. They are very comfortable. I had no problems with blisters or any other discomfort. They did feel a little warm but I was wearing a medium weight hiking sock. It was a 65 degree day. I didn't even bother to take them off when I got in the car. They really felt good on my feet even if a little warm. I did walk through some 3" running water and mud. No problem inside the boot. And, they cleaned up nicely when I got home. They no longer have that new look. I think they look even better! This is my third pair of Keen's and I am very happy with the quality of their products. Well spent money.
Pros: comfort, good valueLove these boots!
August 05, 2010
This is my second pair. I haven't found another boot that is so comfortable. Very little break in period.
Love it!
July 07, 2010
This is a very comfortable hiking shoe. I usually wear an 8.5 in keen, but I got the 9. It is a little roomy, but I can wear thick socks with it in the winter.

I ordered these Keen boots and received them in 3 days! They are a perfect fit (I normally wear an 8 but purchased an 8 1/2 as usual for Keens) They are very comfortable and will be perfect for hiking through the hills on photo shoots. These are great boots and I bought up 1/2 size after reading the reviews. This might work for some but for six days of back packing I need one size, at least, larger. So, alas I shall return these as I know from hiking the Grand Canyon in December that I need extra toe room to avoid loosing toenails. Should be noted that I have had bilateral toe surgery and the comfort of these is great just not the size.

I needed field boots that would be both waterproof, yet comfortable in warm weather. These boots did not require a breaking in period, are extremely comfortable and went beyond my expectations. Targhee II Mid Womens
February 03, 2011
I got these boots for my wife. I own the exact same pair. They are SO comfortable! She absolutely loves them. She took them out of the box and started wearing them and there was no break in period. We live in Denver and have been getting some snow lately and she walks to work in them and her feet don't get wet. She is in love with them and wears them when she is shopping because they are so comfortable. I would recommend these to anyone that wants a good waterproof boot that is comfortable right out of the box.

Highly recommended hiking boots
August 06, 2011
Previously I was hiking with TNF Hedgehog Mid Cut shoes, and had to replace them after 2 years as the soles were coming apart. I choose these Targhee II mid cut boots due to the raving reviews I saw here, and true enough, they really are perfect! The boots are lightweight, and are comfortable from the very first time I wore them. Compared to TNF Hedgehog, these babies had better grip, probably due to the wide front design. I've not tested the waterproofing yet, but I am sure it will excel, as the reviews before me said so. Highly recommend!
Pros: lightweightHappy Now

I had a really old pair of hiking boots that were worn out so I needed to replace them. i'm so glad I went with these. I have a really high arch and these boots do a great job of supporting them. they are also very warm.
As usual, a great pair of KEENS

These boots are great... so comfortable, warm and light weight. I have a really high arch and these boots do a great job of supporting them. I recommend purchasing these great boots a size bigger than normal shoe size. Excellent service and shipping :)
Pros: comfortable, light weight, Great designVery Nice Boot
January 12, 2012
This is an excellent hiking boot, but had to send it back due to shoe imperfections, the left shoe seemed to lean inwards and the outer side of the left shoe appeared to be not glued very well. Had to return them but purchased another one. They are so very good for your feet, don't need breaking in.
Pros: comfortable, good toe protection, adequate width, good ankle support, Cons: runs smallAmazingly comfortable!
April 12, 2010
I bought these after reading wonderful reviews online, Im so glad I listened to them. They were ready to hike right out of the box. So comfortable and lightweight. Kept my feet nice, dry, and warm. And of course they are cute too! Im very happy with my purchase!
great gear!
July 27, 2010
It's perfectly fit. A nice look. Light but protect well. I just wear it for a one-day trip with whole day walk, my feet only feel a little bit tired although I didn't walk so long distance for a long time. And the delivery is on time. Good service!

i love keen shoes. they are the only hiking shoes i've found that fit my oddly shaped foot. but even better is they are SO comfy! there is virtually no break-in period, yet they last quite a while. i put several hundred hiking miles on my first pair, and am on my second pair of this style. (I also have 3 other styles of keens i wear all the time!)
I am enjoying the boots so far.
August 01, 2011
I have worn these boots on a 6 mile hike and an 8 mile hike and so far they are a great boot. The 8 mile hike included a thunderstorm and my feet stayed dry and I kept traction on the rocks. I love all of the Keen products I have owned and these are no different.
Everthing you all said.

First set of Hiking boots and could not have been better recommended. Put them on and went for a two mile hike. Really happy with them!
I recommend!

May 2009 I bought Targhee II Mid boots. I use these for work boots at a zoo. NON-Keen boots never held up. I'd need to replace after only a few months. These are comfortable, supportive and have maintained their waterproof capacity. Looking forward to my new pair. Tread and ankle padding has suffered a bit from daily use. Need to replace for optimal traction for safety at work.
Good boots for sore feet
March 05, 2011
I bought these for my wife. We like to hike, but she has developed chronic foot pain over the last few years. She has a hard time finding boots that are wide enough to be comfortable. We have tried several brands, but these are the best for her. The heel is comfortable and the toe box is wide.
Pros: wide, comfortable heel, good quality, wterproof, Cons: none so farI Have Found My Perfect Match!!!

These Hiking Boots are like none I have ever had. I went hiking and took them right out of the box and these babies didn't even need to be broken in. I walked all day and my feet felt great!!!
Pros: doesn't need to be broken into, comfortable, cute designI *wanted* to like this boot!
October 04, 2010
After hearing everyone sing the praises of Keens - and the Targhee II, in particular - I couldn't wait to try this boot. Knowing that I'd use it for hiking at altitude, I ordered one size up (I'm usually an 8.5 and have wide feet - ordered the 9) to accomodate foot swelling and socks, and waited impatiently for them to arrive. The Keen Targhee II is a really nice looking, sturdy shoe with lots of room in the toe box (yay!). However, it just doesn't seem to fit my foot well! When I tie the boot normally, my foot slides around. When I tie it tightly, I start to lose circulation in my foot. I don't know if it's user error or if they're just not a good fit, but I'm returning them to try the 8.5 and see if it's any better.

Pros: Great valueGreat Boots!

Love these boots! I've owned several brands and find these to be the most comfortable. Material isn't stiff like some brands and my feet appreciate the extra room across the toe area. I wear a size 6.5 - 7 in dress shoes but a 7.5 in running shoes. I found the 7 to be a perfect fit in the Keens!

Can wear right out of the box!

I was so happy with my Keen hiking boots the moment they arrived. I went to a local sporting goods store to try on a pair of Keen sandals so I knew what size to get. I normally wear an 8.5 and I ordered an 8 and they fit perfectly! They need no break in time and I'm anxious to wear them on my trip to Yosemite next month!
GF Loves Them
December 05, 2010
Chose to go with these boots because my girlfriend always seems to hurt herself when climbing or hiking. The toe gives an adequate amount of protection, and the high tops provide nice ankle support. The waterproofing on these shoes has held up very well, and it seems like choosing these Keen boots was a good choice.
Pros: Performance, Great valueNovember 18, 2012
I purchased these boots approximately a year ago for light/day-hiking purposes. These boots were extremely comfortable on my first hike/scramble with them while carrying a medium pack. They're also comfortable enough for everyday wear. I bought these boots a 1/2 size larger than my normal boot size, and with hiking socks they fit well.
Pros: comfortable, flexible but sturdy, good traction, lightweight, durableGreat first pair of boots

These are the first pair of hiking boots I have purchased and I could not be happier. They have been super-comfortable. I have slightly wider feet and have been wearing Keens because of their roomy toe area. These boots are no exception and feel great. The reason I did not give an Excellent in the Durability category is because I have only worn them for one season so they do not have to much wear but I do not expect to be disappointed coming years.

These are the boots I've been looking all my life for...Women's hiking boots which are durable, roomy in the toe box but snug fitting in the heel with no slide. And the color is not some pukey form of pastel pink, but lovely oak green /brown with a soft sea blue trim. I am taking them on a trip to Antarctica in a month and plan to hike on ice, rock and through penguin scat. I don't have a doubt they'll hold up and stay comfortable. I am impressed. An odd thing about Keen is that the Vanguard boot that fits me is a size 8.5 (my usual size) but I ordered the Targhee in a 9 because I managed to find a pair of them at a local swank hiking store and discovered that was the right size for me. The slippers they make are impossible (and I don't say that lightly) to get on a normal foot. I ordered 8.5 and literally could not force them on. With great disappointment I sent them back.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value, great fit with comfortAlready own the Keen Targhee II Mid Hiking Boot? Tell us your thoughts.
Great Boot!

These are my second pair of these boots. They are comfortable out of the box from the first hike on. Great arch and shoe support. I find these so comfortable I wear them as walking shoes! Excellent service and shipping. When these wear out, I'll buy another pair.
Pros: comfortableMarch 12, 2011
These shoes are fantastic! I am a college student, and I was looking for boots that could hold up to Minnesota winters, and still be comfortable working inside and walking around in. They were super comfortable the minute I put them on, and they keep my feet warm and dry outside in the cold. When I'm inside, my feet don't overheat, and I could easily see using these hiking or wearing them in the rain as well. They are my winter boots, but I will be keeping them out for year-round use.
She loved them!

Bought these as a gift for my daughter. She was very pleased. They were wide enough (which her last boots weren't), and very light, which makes for great comfort while out in the Oregan woods in all weather. As a Keen fan myself, I ordered them 1/2 size larger, like I always do with mine. I have these boots as well, and have worn them for miles, straight out of the box.
Pros: light weight with good supportAlready own the Keen Targhee II Mid Hiking Boot? Tell us your thoughts.
Love these boots!

I love Keens in general, and was excited to see these boots! I got them on sale from a previous season's color, and definitely would plan to buy the same style when these wear out. Which isn't going to be a long time, because these are great! Comfortable right out of the box, hardly 1 day to break them in. Waterproof and warm enough. I love how these have fabric loops for the shoelaces instead of holes, because it keeps wind and cold from coming in the holes, and with no metal eyelets, it prevents the metal-detectors from going off at work. These are comfortable and practical - highly recommend! My only minor comment is that some of the stitching is coming out of the back loop, after probably 3-4 months of daily use.
Pros: Great design, Performance, Ease of use, comfortGood hiking boots

I love Keen shoes, boots and sandals. I own > 20 pairs of Keen. This pair of boots run small. Even though I bought them a half size larger than I usually wear (8.5 for my usual 7.5-8), they don't allow room for 2 pairs of socks that I like to wear to serious hiking. I love these boots so much that I'm going to buy a pair of size 9.
not too bulky
March 19, 2011
These shoes/boots are great for hiking because they are not your typical bulky hiking boot. I would recommend getting your true size though. I got a half size smaller and they work but, would be more better to have a tad more room. I have used these on 14ers and they work great - in them for hours, waterproof, great traction!
Keen on my New Keens
January 10, 2011
I have a good friend that highly recommended Keen shoes. Trusting her judgment, I bought my first pair last year. This year I needed a pair of hiking boots, knowing how much I liked my regular Keens, I thought the hiking boots should be good too. I got them last week and went hiking this weekend...WOW, they were better than I even thought they would be. I wore them for two days straight and never once got sore feet!!! They are light weight but very sturdy. I donÂ’t think I could have bought a better or more comfortable boot.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Great valueThird pair of Keens and lovin' them still

My first pair of Keene Women's Targhee IIs took me up the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. When it came time to retire the first pair, a year and a half and hundreds of hiking and walking miles later, I bought the exact same pair. Easy to break in, perfect flexibility, attractive, and waterproof, these are MY BOOTS, for a long as they are made. Consider buying one size up if you are on the cusp and anticipate wearing thick socks. Also bought the shoe version for work... just as comfy and supportive for long days running in the Emergency Room.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, PerformanceHeaven on my feet

I don't think I've ever put something so comfortable on my feet! They have great arch support and support in general, great traction, and look good too. My only complaint is that though they say waterproof, my socks were wet after getting caught in a rain on a hike.
Highly recommend

I bought these just a couple days before a hiking trip and it was definitely one of the best decisions I made. I bought them a half size bigger than I usually wear and they fit great, so well that there was no need to have them worn in ahead of time. I never got to test out their waterproof capability so I can't comment on that aspect. I would highly recommend them!
