Fantastic shoes
March 03, 2012
Bought these Toyah MJ shoes for my wife. She loves them. Super comfortable right out of the box. She like them so well that I also bought her another pair of Toyahs, slightly different style but the same response. GREAT, FEEL FANTASTIC. I have had 2 different pairs of Keen's for a couple of years and love them. Feel great and wear even better. I am also buying 2 more pair today.
Pros: greaty fit right out of the box.Nice Shoe

I have to say up front that I have a short, very wide foot with high insteps and arches so Keens are pretty much all I wear now. This is pair number 15 for me and short of the "Betty Boots" they have all been great! They look good with jeans and I have received several compliments from complete strangers when I have worn them. I have two pair of the Toyahs one in brown and the newest in Gargloyle which is the prettiest soft gray color. Now to the fit - the length is true to size and the width is comfortable to me so that might mean that they may be a little too wide for someone with a narrower foot. That said they do have an adjustable strap over the instep to help with the fit. I usually wear them when I'm out running errands and that means several hours and my feet aren't tired at the end of the trip! Bottom line I would highly recommend these shoes for around town use.
Nice shoe but defective!

I love Keen shoes so I was excited to get these shoes and wear them. I purchased the madder brown and was not disappointed when they arrived. Unfortunately, these shoes are not as comfortable as my other keens. One of the shoes was actually bigger than the other one. So big, that my foot kept sliding all over the place no matter how tight I buckled them. It felt like I was wearing one regular shoe and one wide width shoe. Upon careful inspection, I noticed a difference in the bumpers on the shoe. I hope this isn't a sign of keens to come!!! Anyway, Altrec's customer service was excellent as usual and I was able to return these shoes easily. As for the rating, I only gave it two stars because these were defective but I still love Keen.
Great for those who like comfy shoes

Had to replace my last pair of Keen MJs when my new puppy ate the leather straps, and was sad that Keen did not make MJs with that same exact appearance anymore. I reluctantly ordered these and have been very pleased with them since. I'm devoted to Keens because I'm an Alaskan and I need good grip and traction on the bottom of my shoes, which is something that Keen tends to get right. Typically this is the shoe I wear to work every day, and they're comfy for travel and dog walking on good roads. Easy to slip in and out of. They're the kind of shoe that fits well but you can also stretch your toes out inside of them, a good wide and stable shoe. The only drawbacks for me were the grey stripe on the black MJ and the shallow heel bed. But they look really nice and haven't had any problems with them falling off mid-stride. I definitely recommend them.
Pros: good traction, comfortable, classy work shoes, easy to slip on, roomy for toes, durable, perfect for air travelCute & Comfy for a Short Trek

Let me start by stating that I love the Keen brand. There just isn't a better brand of shoes on the market for travelers. I usually buy the Presidio and/or Toyah style. I tried the Mary Janes, but had a few small issues with the style that are worth mentioning. First off: beware of the buckle. It will dig into your skin a little the first few wears. Second: Socks are a must for anything over a few hours on your feet in the sunny weather. Your feet will not feel fresh and the socks will change the look of the style. Third: Ankle support is lean for a long day trek. I would use these shoes for a few hours exploring a city or for shorter duration in traveling. They could not hold up for 8+ hours (or rather my feet did not feel their best after a long days worth of walking). The MJs are adorable and comfy, but they have their place.
Pros: styleI love Keen Mary Janes

These shoes are comfortable with their wide toe box. I do love them. I only had one problem and that is I assumed that the size that was right in another style of the Keen Mary Janes would be right in a different style. Wrong. So I had to return and reorder. But altrec did give me a discount on my reorder.
Comfy, but not for me

I thought the shoes were really comfy but unfortunately they were too wide for my foot. I had to send them back. I would've given them a 5 star just for that, but I also didn't like the way they were shaped at the toe. They looked clunky.
Great Shoes!

These shoes are AWESOME! The Wife says they feel like 'buttah', and that she couldn't be happier. The fit is size correct. The durability is second to none. The fit and feel and functionality are exactly what she wanted. These shoes were used in a week (on our honeymoon) to hike Muir Woods for 4 hours, walk Stinson Beach for an afternoon, ride bikes for two days in San Francisco, and walk around San Francisco for 9 days during a wet/rainy period. They held up awesome and had good traction, and she could still wear them to Waterbar and Greens for evening meals. Looked GREAT, conservative and fashionable. I am now looking for a set of Keens for myself...
Pros: size correct, great looks, comfort, durability, tractionLove these Mary Jane Keens, again

I mostly wear Birkenstocks but had 1 wonderful pair of Seattle Keens which were still in good shape until my puppy got a hold of them...so I set out trying to find more Seattles. I've always worn a 6.5, but after 2 children, I lean more toward a 7 sometimes. I don't remember how I came to decide on a 7.5 for my Seattles after my first child, but I know a requirement was being able to wear thick socks, and the 7.5's worked. Abandoning the Seattle dream which had a wonderful sliding buckle (only still available in size 5's), I decided Toyah's were the next best thing and Altrec had the best price. I was very surprised about others' recommendations to buy smaller sizes because I bought another pair of 7.5's, and they're just fine for me, barefoot or w/socks...and I'm truly not more than a 7. Even though these are sandals, I wear them to dress up, dress down, go hiking on camping trips, walking in the neighborhood, etc....very good for my fibromyalgia body's needs for comfort and support, esp. in the arch!
Best Shoe Ever made

I have been wearing Keen for several years now. I first started wearing them when I had Hip arthritis. It was the only shoe that I could walk in. After surgery I found that I still loved the support and comfort that Keen gave me. I wear them at work and at home. It is the most comfortable shoe that I have ever worn. I found the type at Altrec after unsuccessful searches all over the internet. Altrec has great styles and size choices. I will always shop here!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueGreat Shoe!

I love Keen shoes period. I bought my first pair when I was pregnant. The shoe was a lace up and super comfy and durable. For my second pregnancy I wanted a slip on shoe rather than a lace up but not a loafer or ballerina like style. I checked out all the shoes Keen had to offer and fell in love with Toyah MJ. All the comforts of a lace up but with a MJ twist. When I first tried it on, I thought it might be "heavy" but once I walked around, I found them to be very comfortable and cozy. I got it in black. To me it has a more "girly" appeal. I like the grey stitching and trim as well. I also was concerned, at first, about the strap - would I be able to slip my foot into the shoe without having to use my hands? Of course at first I had to until I got used to it and now I can just wiggle my foot right into it! I like that because I am a busy Mom and it makes things easy for me to slip on my shoes and go! If you are looking for a slip on shoe with the feel of a lace up but isn't, along with a MJ twist, then this is it!

I was really excited to wear these shoes. I have to wear an ankle brace and Keen shoes are cute & comfortable. I have purchased several pairs online, always in the same size, with no issue. This time my usual size 9's were boats. If you order these I highly suggest getting not just half a size smaller but maybe a full size smaller. These shoes I had to get again in person instead or re-ordering online because I didn't want to have to pay to return another pair that didn't fit. Otherwise these shoes are super cute and comfortable. Perfect for casual wear or more dressy day wear.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Great valueGOOD KEEN QUALITY

Bought the Keen Toyah Mary Jane's because I wear the oxford tie up style to work everyday. Like the Maderer Brown color and they seem very durable, like a Keen always is. I ordered my normal size 8 and they were huge. Reordered a 7 but just doesn't fit comfortably. Forefoot is comfortable but too wide at the heel and my foot rides up and down. Wore once but going back to the oxford type. If you like a secure fitting shoe, would stay away from the Mary Jane style. I like a tie because as the shoe gets worn and stretched, I can keep it snug and fit with the laces. Love how they look but not made for me. Buckle is a bit cumbersome, unless you are one to just slide them on and off.
Pros: Build qualityI love Keen!

I am on my feet for up to 16 hours a day. I need comfy, non-slip and waterproof shoes. These have it all (and they look great!) The fit is fantastic and runs true to size. My feet aren't throbbing at the end of a long day in these. I really wear out my shoes, keen is the only brand that really holds up to the abuse. I don't know why I ever try other brands.
Pros: Great design, Lasts forever, PerformanceFirst pair of Keens, I'm hooked

This is my first pair of Keens and I am in love. I spend hours on my feet and usually have sore feet but not with these. I put them on and they fit like a glove. They have a great cushion and comfort to them. I will not buy any other shoes than Keens now. I now own 2 pairs and am looking to buy more!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Great value
