Good but could be better
January 03, 2012

The shoe is true to size but a little wide in the heel. I had to put a liner in to make it stable and that wasn't perfect. The toe bed is roomy and comfortable. I have other Keen shoes. Compared to them the Voyageur's heel seems high. The shoe is a bit stiff but I suspect it will get more flexible after several uses like the other keen shoes I've experienced.

Pros: roomy toe, nice looking, Cons: heel is wide

Very good purchase
March 20, 2011

First time purchasing Keen products. These shoes are very comfortable. I ordered the same size I wear in other brands of shoes. The reviews I read said to order 1/2 size bigger than normal but that would have been to big for me. I hike alot and these shoes are going to be great for that. I will purchase more Keen products.

Awesome shoes!
June 09, 2011

I love my Keens! This is my third pair of Voyageurs. I can wear these for just about anything-from hiking to casual and everything in between. These tend to run a little bigger than most Keens so I order a half size smaller and they are perfect!

Pros: comfort, durability, stylish

These hikers are mega comfy. I wear a 71/2 and they fit true to size. They are not waterproof, but dry very quickly. They did not require break in time. I wore them right on the trail out of the box. I've received many compliments on them. Very cute.

Perfect Shoe for A Girl with Issues :)
July 23, 2009

A year ago I started a job at a state park that would require me to hike, walk, and stand around trails A LOT. I had never bought a hiking shoe before but knew I wanted them to fulfill a few necessities: They have to protect my toes from unexpected bumps in the road a.k.a razor sharp rocks and toe breaking falls; They have to stay on my feet in the event of sliding rocks and river crossings; They have to dry fast; They have to be cute and make my huge 9 1/2 feet look small; They have to breathe because my feet sweat more than they should and it is really hot where I am at; They have to be made well because my feet kill shoes in a short amount of time; They have to come in another color than "dirt"; They have to provide me with arch support that doesn't disappear over time; I know it is a lot to ask but I'd like to put them on and not have to break them in; and They have to be a brand worth wearing. These shoes fulfill ALL of these things and they look like Sketchers for those who care. Five Gold Stars! I am now on my second pair of these Voyager Keens because I like them so much. They lasted one year on my feet wearing them daily. I do have some cons though. If they should get wet the leather dries quickly, gets wrinkled right away, fades and splits from the rubber. It didn't affect the performance of the shoe but it made then look older prematurely. I should have seasoned them immediately. They hold on to dirt that gets in the hard to clean places and the mesh is a pack rat when it comes to clingy itchy seeds from plants. I had to use tweezers and accidentally pulled a few fishing line-like strings. The first thing to go was the lining material in the inside heel of the shoe. I must have rubbed against it so much it just frayed and the foam stuffing came out. It happened after over eleven months of daily use. I think that if I had avoided using them so heavily and in the water at times they would have lasted longer. They also took on the shape of my walk. I am a heavier person with a funny walk so in about nine months my mother (good ol' mom) noticed that the back of my left heel being pressed in a certain direction made my shoe look crooked. I like these shoes and will buy them each year until another pair can prove they're better. I must note that I really bashed the front of my shoes so bad going down a rocky slop with a group that they were so sure I broke an ankle or broke my toes. It was definitely a spinning ballerina moment but the front of the shoes protected my toes from what would have been a toe breaking experience.

Love these shoes!

I have had trouble with plantar fascitis for a few months and needed a shoe with arch and heel support. This shoe has been better than I had hoped for. I would recommend this for anyone doing anything on your feet!

I love these Keen Voyageurs
February 18, 2010

I ordered up a half size as always with Keen. My husband bought a pair of these shoes and I liked the way they looked so much that I had to have a pair for myself. I own two other pair of Keens and these are just a comfortable as the ones I've had for years. I look forward to getting lots of use out of them.

Great City Walking Shoe
July 05, 2012

These Keens are light, nicely padded, well ventilated, and have plenty of space in the toe box. They're my everyday walking shoe. I use them with a heel insert and still have plenty of room.

The voyager is an excellent light hiking shoe. We walked across the highlands of Scotland and had no problem. We recommend the shoe and the West Highland way hike of 95 miles.

Pros: light and comfortable

Voyageur's and Targhee's
December 28, 2009

These shoes look great on. I already own a pair of the Keen Targhee's, which fit my narrowish foot perfectly, so I was disappointed to find that the Voyageur's run larger in width and length, in comparison. They are a lower priced model, and you definitely get fewer bells and whistles, like less cushioning and comfort. I would recommend spending a little more and upgrading to the Targhee's. The only real downfall with Keen shoes is that they do not have a non-slip sole. Wear them at your own risk on slippery surfaces!

great shoe for everyday wear
October 08, 2009

My everyday shoes used to be New Balance's line of 990s, but in the past year or two, I started to experience knee discomfort and numbness in one of my big toes. I do a lot of walking, and I also noticed that my feet got sore very quickly. I finally determined that my NB running shoes were just not suitable for extended wear (though they are great for running)and I started looking for something a bit more stable. I gravitated towards Keen because I already own two pairs of Keen sandals and a pair of Keen hiking boots. Keen is a great brand (though I wish they didn't manufacture everything in China...)! I usually wear size 7 in athletic shoes and 6 1/2 in dress shoes. The 6 1/2 fits my foot perfectly, though I do wear these with regular socks. I was worried about the stiffness in the beginning. And the laces are a bit difficult to tighten and loosen. But now that I've been wearing them for two weeks, I see that I made a great purchase. They are very comfortable and supportive. And I love that I can wiggle my toes so freely in the wide toe box! My knees and big toe feel much better now.

Great Hiking Shoe
October 16, 2008

Went to Ireland and it rained the whole time, didn't fall hiking, great traction and stayed DRY, while the other people had soggy shoes!

Love Them!
October 17, 2009

I bought these hiking shoes to take to Ireland, I took them right out of the box put them on and have not wanted to take them off, they are very comfortable. They are very supportive and so stylish! I hope Keen continues to make this style because I will buy another pair, Thanks also to Altrec for the free shipping and fast service!!!

Great Shoe!
July 30, 2010

I purchased a half size larger than I usually wear (as suggested by others) and the shoes fit perfectly. Moreover, there was no break-in period and thus no blisters the first time I wore the shoes on a long, hilly walk. The Keen Voyageur Rocks!

Finally a great fit and look!
June 18, 2010

As true with all Keens, a great fit and look. I have been wearing Keen Targhees as my main shoe, but now this is the first pair of shoes that I reach for each day. I am very pleased with my new purchase.

March 02, 2011

I'd had my first pair of Keens for three years when our neighbor dog took one away. Wah!!! I hike in a mountainous area almost daily, so I need tough shoes. These Keens were my favorite, most comfortable hiking shoes! I immediately went online to order another pair.

Great shoes-great fit!
March 10, 2011

I ordered these in a women's 10.5 because I always order my running shoes one half to one full size larger. The 10.5 was a little too long so I ordered a 10 (my regular shoe size) and those fit fine. I even tried these out for a 20 minute walk on my treadmill and then a 10 minute jog. Next, I put booties over the shoes (just incase I had to return them) and walked down a very steep 1/4 mile driveway and back up again (the ultimate test!) These feel great in the arch and nice and roomy in the toe-box without allowing your foot to slip around. These will be fine for day hikes on trails and general schlepping around town on my travels abroad. LOVE these shoes.

Pros: well made great fit, great price, true to size, Cons: i have only two feet

Nice wide toe box, good arch support.
August 03, 2010

I have been wearing casual hiking shoes that hurt when I went down hill, and these shoes are great in that they don't mash my toes. The insole is very cushioney and there was no breaking in period. I would recommend them to anyone.

Finally, a shoe with a wide enough toebox!
January 19, 2009

My husband & I are avid hikers, both in Fla. and the mountains of North Carolina. I have wide feet, high arches, and narrow heels. Most shoes have pointed toe boxes, which caused me bruised toes on steep downhill hikes. Buying a larger/wider shoe resulted in sloppiness in the heel area, causing blisters. At the recommendation of a fellow hiker, I tried a pair of Keens on at a shoe store in an upscale resort area, and fell in love with the fit, though not with the high price of $110. I searched and found them on the Altrec site for a reasonable $69.87 (and no shipping charges!). I was glad I had tried them on previously though, as I needed a size 8 rather than my usual size 7 1/2. I ordered them on a Sunday, and was pleasantly suprised when they arrived the following Sat. (No small feat given the distance from Ore. to Fla., and a spate of godawful weather in the northern U.S. at the time.) I wore them on a five-mile hike yesterday, and they were heavenly. It was like walking barefoot, with absolutely no pressure on my toes, yet adequate heel and arch support. I will DEFINITELY be buying Keen again, and from Altrec. I have my eye on a pair of waterproof boots.....

Love My New Keen Hiking Shoes
April 17, 2009

Winter was a breeze this year in comfortable, warm, easy on & off boots by Keen. I was so impressed that I purchased a pair of Keen Voyageur hiking shoes and found the same comfort, great fit, and no break in period. Keen is now my favorite brand.

I am the Keen Queen and these are just new jewels in my crown.
May 09, 2010

Would love to wear these everywhere but they don't go with my dressier clothes. I smile all the while I wear them 'cause my feet are happy. Great fit, great support and they don't look bad either. So-o-o glad I got 'em.

love 'em
April 15, 2010

They are comfortable right from the box. I found them maybe a bit short in my regular size but the 1/2 size up was too big. They are rather wide especially in the toe area but have a comfortable arch. It is difficult to tailor where you want the laces to tighten if you want to adjust fit that way.

Great shoe.
August 09, 2010

A great shoe. I really like it because of the wide toe. I found it to be true to size. Great for walking. Very Comfortable.

Excellent shoes. Very stylish.
October 09, 2009

Great Summer/Dessert Shoe
November 27, 2010

The Voyageur has a fit just like Keen's Targhee II - wide & comfortable toe box. This shoe is not waterproof BUT it is more breathable than the Targhee II. Great for hiking in the southwest where it is often hot and dry. The aggressive sole on is one of the best features. This shoe (and the Targhee II) has the absolute best traction for hiking and climbing all over rocks in Bryce, Zion, Arches etc. (My husband and I joke that they are made with "really sticky" rubber) It has excellent side to side stability making climbing on unstable terrain much easier. I've worn these shoes on all day hikes with no blisters or soreness at all. Buy the Voyageur for summer and/or hot dry climates and the Targhee II for wet or snowy areas. Although I have worn the Targhee II all day in the stinking hot dessert and it is fine too. ** odd thing - for the Targhee II I have to order 1/2 size larger. For the Voyageur I ordered my true size. LOVE BOTH of these shoes. Buy a pair of each!

Pros: comfortable and durable

Love these shoes!
April 25, 2010

These are the best hiking shoes I've ever owned. They are light-weight and extremely comfortable. I'd wear them to bed if I could

great boots
February 08, 2010

love these boots, it did take me a couple of wearings to adjust even though I have worn keen shoes before. Also a little larger than my regular size, but perfect for hikers who wear 2 pair of socks and need the extra room for feet to expand while hiking

July 03, 2009

These may be my favorite Keen shoes. I could wear them immediately right from the box with no breaking in period. I did order one size larger because I wanted to wear socks with them for hiking. I like the "look" of them too....not as big and bulky as some hiking shoes. I'm sold on Keen shoes!

Women's Voyageur Hiking Shoe, Keen
October 15, 2010

This is the 2nd pair of Keen hiking shoes that I own. I wore the 1st pair everyday hiking up and down a steep canyon trail twice a day for almost 3 years. They served me very well so I got the 2nd pair. It looks like the great performance will repeat itself.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use

Great Arch Support
April 07, 2012

These have Plenty of toe room. They seem to run about a 1/2 size small. I use these for my everyday walking shoe. They are a little inconsistent with overall fit from one season to another. I love the shoe, I have three pair! Highly recommended.

best hiking shoes I've worn
March 23, 2011

These shoes were comfortable from the first wearing, no breaking in necessary. There's plenty of toe room and my foot didn't slide forward due to the arch support and lacing. True to size with room for heavy socks without feeling snug. These are my new favorite shoes!

Keen Women's Hiking Shoe
April 02, 2010

I love these shoes! They were a little stiff at first, but now that I have broken them in, they are great support. I work on concrete all day and tennis shoes would break down too easily. My last Keen shoes are still in great shape after almost a year, and I feel certain these will last me even longer. Thanks for a great transaction and will keep you on my list for future Keen purchases.

Another great Keen
February 09, 2009

Love this brand. I have walked through 1 pair of Targhee II and well into a second pair--also own a third pair. The first review of the Voyageur talked about the heel being more narrow so I ordered them. Really like them. Also have 3 pairs of the Presido, pair of the mid-high Targhee II, and a pair of sandals. Now I just look for the brand when purchasing shoes! My husband loves the brand, too.

I love Keens and recently ordered these shoes to take to Asia. I need good arch support for my old feet ( well, middle aged feet) and didn't want anything too heavy to wear or to pack. I love these shoes. They felt great right away and don't rub against my heel like many new shoes do. I also like the color although it is more grey than black.

A great everyday shoe
October 13, 2009

I am on my feet all day and have a great deal of difficulty finding casual shoes that feel good all day. From day one these shoes felt great and provided support throughout the footbed like no other shoe. They look good with jeans, casual pants, or shorts. Will buy Keen shoes again before others.

Just what I was looking for
May 12, 2009

These shoes have been a perfect choice for me. I needed a very solid, stable shoe as I am on my feet all day, up and down ladders, and did not want a boot. They absorb the impact so my feet aren't as tired at the end of the day, and fit very true to size. My only complaint would be the laces are not long enough to double knott, but that can be easily remedied.

great all around shoe
August 30, 2009

The keen voyageur shoe is my sneaker replacement. Perfect for running errands and in my case, work, which involves quite a bit of walking. It provides much more support than any sneakers I've purchased and it is much more attractive. I have wide, flat feet and these shoes are perfect. I'm normally a small size 8 and I needed an 8.5 in this shoe. I've recommended this shoe to friends, who've purchased them, and are also very pleased. Also, a great shoe for traveling.

Really Comfortable
October 12, 2011

I went on a monthly camping and hiking trip in August. Though not the first time for me to hike, it was the first time for me to hike 30 days in a row! These hiking shoes never made my feet hurt once, and we are talking about half dome in Yosemite! I had to get used to the wide shape of the shoes at first, but overall, I have no complains. They definitely stood the test!

Pros: comfortable not need to break in, Cons: a bit wide (for my feet)

Great Hiking Shoe!
October 27, 2009

I bought these to wear to work for the winter. I have to go on field calls occasionally and these Keen Voyageurs are perfect for in the casual office and out in the field. Keens tend to run a bit wider than other women's hiking shoes and boots for which I am very grateful. I usually wear a 6 or 6.5 wide and the 6's in these fit me just right. They are quite comfortable right out of the box and take very little breaking in.

St. Voyageur-patron saint of arthritic feet...
October 28, 2009

Can't say enough good things about the shoes. I destroy shoes quickly, but these have held up great and have been oh so kind to my rheumatiod dogs that I now where them for long hours on emergency shifts. Ginormous toe box, great arch support and light weight all balance perfectly. Dog bless my Keens. Dr. Kim

January 16, 2010

I took my Keen voyageur right out of the box and started wearing them, they are so comfortable. I ordered a half size larger, but returned them, they were too big. I have always worn Merrell, but decided to try these, I am so glad that I did. Great shoe, great service from Altrec.

Great support
July 22, 2010

I have chronic pain in my feet and KEENs are the only brand I buy now. The extra room in the toe box allows my toes to spread out for extra balance, and the stiff soles add extra protection from rocks and feel really stable no matter where I am. I wear them to work, to the gym, walking the dog, and on hikes. All around great shoe!

I love KEENs
April 01, 2012

These shoes are wonderful. They were loose in the heel at first, but adjusted with wear. I love the way my feet feel when I am wearing them, very comfortable. When I buy KEEN's, I buy a size that is 1/2 size larger than I normally wear.

February 24, 2009

Right out of the box, I went for a 5 mile walk on pavement. The first half mile, I was having second thoughts about it, but then, like every pair of keen I own, they just became part of my feet. These are a great alternative to the stiffer targhee to give the feet a softer shoe for a change. I have bad feet, and before keen shoes, I could not hike or walk without pain. Keen are the only shoes I wear, period. I have sandals, mary janes, boots, shoes, winter and summer, it is all I will put on my feet. I love my Keens!

February 21, 2009

Love these shoes. I put them on and they fit with great arch support and comfort in the heel. I wore them to work all day the next day with no problems. Lots of compliments on appearance too. I also plan to wear them for daily walks and hiking. One of my many pairs of Keens!

Awesome fit and comfort!

I have been looking for comfortable light waterproof shoes. I walk/hike in all kinds of weather and I have not been disappointed. People have NEVER commented me on my shoes and I am often asked where I got them and who manufactured them. They provide good support and the round toe box helps coming down steep inclines.Great traction on wet surfaces and I am in love with my new buddy. I wear a 9M and a 9 fits fine with ample room in the toe box.

I'm new to hiking so didn't have a clue what to look for in a hiking shoe but I knew I wanted something lightweight and comfortable. After reviewing all the previous reviews on this shoe as well as a ton of other shoes I decided to order Voyageur shoes and I'm so happy I did. Just as other reviewers have said, there's no break in needed with these shoes. The first day I received them I wore them for 5 hours without any problems. They are so comfortable. I ordered 1/2 size up from my normal size and they fit perfect. Love the wide toe box since I have wide feet. I love the look of the shoe too and the quality is excellent. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase and it was a breeze ordering through Altrec. The order was processed quickly and I received them within a couple of days of the order. Thank you Altrec!!

Physical Therapist Approved!!
November 11, 2012

I have had several hip surgeries in the last year. I have a 83 lb. Husky that I have to walk on not to stable terrain. These are perfect!! Keep my heel and ankle stable so I do not screw my hip up again or get tendinitis back! PT and Otho doc asked me to bring them in so they could have a look and approve or disapprove. Approval was 5 star by all!! By me too!!

Awesome Shoe, Buying Second Pair!
November 23, 2010

I bought these shoes several years ago and have been able to utilize them every season. They're very comfortable, highly breathable and extremely durable. I haven't been able to find another pair that I like as well these. I hike in them in the summer/fall and wear them to the mountain throughout the winter. Truly a great product- love Keens!

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value

Good shoe
March 15, 2011

I bought this shoe because I work outside on my feet. These shoes are very comfortable. I have another pair of Keens which have been great. I ordered the same size when I ordered this pair, but they run a bit larger than the last pair I have. Otherwise, they are perfect!

Great Shoe
December 14, 2010

This is my third pair of Keen Voyagers. I work in retail and am on my feet 10-12 hours a day 5-6 days a week. I have not found a shoe that stands up to the wear and tear of concrete like the Voyager. Most shoes I am lucky to get 3-6 months wear out of, my last two pairs lasted almost 11 months. The shoe is very comfortable and has nice arch support, I have flat feet so this is very important to me. It seems to run a bit large but not enought to more down in size. I wear a 7.5 and that is what I ordered. The shoe also had good ventilation but is not waterproof, which is probably why it has good ventilation.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value

Overall Fantastic Shoe
August 10, 2010

I have super wide feet and these Keen Voyagers are the only shoe that I can wear for long periods of time. I use them for hiking, small walks, beach walks and for general purposes. They have been worn daily since taking them out of the box, with absolutely no break-in period needed. My first pair (Voyager mid-top) is still a bit tight even though I ordered a 9.5 (l/2 size larger)....the new low top Keen Voyager is a much looser fit (size 9.5) and is extremely comfortable. I am an absolute fan of these shoes, and cannot say enough good about them! Thank you.

These are great!!

I've had the Keen Voyageur Mid Hiking Shoe for a couple of years & they've been comfortable since the day I put them on my feet & still look great after considerable wear. However, in the desert in the summer, they started to feel heavy & my feet need air, so I got these as my summer pair & they're also extremely comfortable & look great - I love the color! I'm a huge Keen fan!!!!

great all-around shoe
October 02, 2009

All I wear are Keen shoes, so I thought I'd try this model to add to my collection. I love it! It's more sleek than the others I own, which makes it nice to wear to work without looking like a fitness fanatic.

Keen Voyager Low Top Hiker
August 10, 2010

Fantastic shoe, no break-in period needed. I have very wide feet (bunion included) and these are the only shoes that fit! My last pair was a size 9.5 mid-top.....they are a bit tighter fit than these. The new low tops are wider (also size 9.5) and a better fit all around. I am an avid hiker and they have been used every day, right out of the box with no issues whatsoever. I guess I am a huge fan and really believe in the quality of these shoes! The KEEN VOYAGER is a great shoe......

Love these shoes!

These are the best hiking shoes I've ever owned. They are light-weight and extremely comfortable. I'd wear them to bed if I could

I took forever to decide on a new pair of hiking boots for our 2 week trip out West. I choose the Keen Voyageurs. I love them! They feel good on my arch and they also feel very sturdy, I don't feel like they are going to fall apart or wear down. Very happy with my purchase!
