Youth Austin Hiking Shoes 5 5 7 7
Durable, Comfortable, Cute! These shoes are perfect for my 5 year old son's dress code at school. He loves his summer time Keen sandals, so these are the version for this fall- making the transition to school clothes much easier. I love that he can play rough and they still clean up easily. Seem to fit the same as his sandals. I bought one size up in the hopes that we'll make it through the school year, but they don't seem to be all that much bigger, so we'll see. August 7, 2011
Great shoe I've purchased other styles of Keen shoes for my daughter and wanted to buy Keens for my son this year because my daughters shoes have been so comfortable and durable. The Keen Austin fit him well and were comfortable right out of the box. They looked great and, based on past experience with this brand of shoe, I'm sure they will look great for the entire school year. I like that the toe is covered so the front of the shoe does not scuff and look worn out. They are very stylish and well made. He has commented that they are easy to get on and off in a hurry because they are not tight on his feet. August 2, 2011
Great quality everyday shoes for kids Sometimes it's hard to justify spending a lot of money on kids shoes. The beauty of this "hiking" shoe is its versatility. You can wear it on the trails but it is so comfortable and good looking that it could be worn everyday to school or dressed up on occasion. When my kids go out of their way to tell me how comfortable a pair of shoes are, then we know the truth. My kids are big fans of sneakers and athletic shoes but nothing else; well, the Keen Austin's have changed that. Moreover, these shoes are relatively easy to get on with a flexible but wide opening. Laces can be easily pulled and tied. Sole is soft and flexible. In terms of durability, time will tell, but I expect that these will hold up well, as have our other keens. December 13, 2010
One tough shoe! My son age 6 had the size 13 Austin with the velcro and put them to the test. He loved them and so when it was time to purchase a new pair of school / bang around shoes it was a no brainer. Sure Keen's carry a cost premium, but as the saying goes "you get what you pay for." I have no problems paying for something that I know is going to last. My two year old son will get use out of these shoes as well. November 17, 2010
shoes a great value My little guy, age 7, goes through shoes like a buzzsaw through balsa wood. He can ruin a pair of brand-name tennis shoes in less than two weeks — the kid plays hard! So my wife and I decided to experiment and buy him a pair of Keen Austins for this fall, to see if they'd hold up better than tennis shoes. So far, so good. He's only worn the shoes for several weeks, but there are no visible signs of wear so far; they can take a beating. They're comfortable and the sizing appears to be accurate. The tough sole — especially the signature out-sized Keen rubber toe protector — and leather upper look like real winners so far. We normally wouldn't buy Keens for children because they can be pricey and there's always the chance the kids will outgrow them too quickly. But the sale price was too great to pass up, and my wife and I have both enjoyed good experiences with Keens in terms of durability and comfort. Like everything else, you get what you pay for — in this case, quality and durability. November 16, 2010
good quality My son always wears tennis shoes. I was looking for a different shoe and this is a good alternative. The quality is nice and it looks good with jeans and casual clothing. November 11, 2010
Great stability! My son wears orthodics to correct severe pronation and these shoes are THE BEST for accomodating the insert and supporting a natural gait for my son!! He LOVES the way the shoes look and I feel so happy to see him walking, running and playing with his friends! I am sure these will be ths shoes of choice for many years. February 3, 2010
