Easy to use
May 19, 2012
I'm a fairly inexperienced camper, but I bought two of these for my son and me. It is very easy to use: just unroll, open the air ports, and voila! The campsite that we had for our first try with these was very rocky, but I was very happy with the comfort level and slept well. I'm about 170 lb. However, my son, who weighs well over 200 lb, didn't sleep nearly as well, feeling that it wasn't thick enough. The pad seems to be built well, and it rolls up easily enough; it also stays put and doesn't slide. So I recommend this pad if you are sleeping on soft enough soil and/or are of medium build. My son's likely to be taking an air mattress the next time we camp.
Pros: Build quality, Ease of use, Cons: not as comfortable for larger peopleAlready own the Kelty Basecamp Sleeping Pad? Tell us your thoughts.
