Awesome carrier
This is an awesome carrier! It has ample storeage for a good day hike or trip to the mall. The baby fits snugly and securely with great padding to avoid any bumps or bruises. Altrec's price cannot be beat and the service was excellent. This pack will serve us well for many years.

Kelty FC 3.0
I recently purchased this carrier and have used it in a local mall. I am very please with the build quality and comfort of the carrier (our baby loves it too). The designers clearly had an all day hike in mind when they built it and likely not the local mall. It has a bevy of storage areas including two convenient pouches in the front waist straps where you can put a cell phone & wallet. I am 6'3" and I did not need to make and adjustments to it.
My only issue was how to get the pack on once I put our baby in it. There is a "kick" stand so it can be placed on the ground without rolling over however there is no central grab handle on the top of the carrier to aid in strapping it to one's back. So I ultimately sat on the ground and put the carrier on. Not a big deal but a grab handle would make this process much easier.
All in all an excellent pack which seems like it was built to last forever. The sun visor is a nice touch and stores conveniently in one of the large back pouches.
I would highly recommend this carrier.

Awesome Piece of Hiking Equipment
Can't think of a single flaw in the whole system. Lightweight, comfortable, durable and multifunctional. Also got an INCREDIBLE deal on it, over 50% off!!! Not a bad price for one of the best packs on the market! Thanks Altrec!

Goes Where Strollers Cannot
Great item! Purchased this to use on the trails, but ended up using even on the streets of our small town which has horrible sidewalks. Our boy was a little fussy during the first couple strap-ins, but he now gets excited when he see the carrier because he knows an adventure is ahead.

AMAZING
I love this backpack. We try to go on hikes every weekend and we love to take our 8 month old daughter with us. This pack makes it possible for her to go with us. The pack is "AMAZING" my daughter loves it herself and never gets fussy while shes in it. As for the carrier of the pack (myself) it feels like any other ordinary backpack. The weight is distributed very evenly and we go on sometimes 5 hour hikes. A MUST BUY.

Comfortable Pack for Porting Toddler
I used this pack on a few hikes in Blue Ridge Mountains. It's a great pack, but I wish the directions explained better how to adjust it, to relieve pressure in some areas and place more on others. But overall a great pack, and one that was fairly easy to adjust for use by both my wife and I. Our one year old loved it and fell asleep even a few times.

Great item!
My 20 month old son fits comfortably in the back. There is TONS of storage so you literally don't need a diaper backpack in addition to the carrier. Its a bit pricey but fits comfortably for parent and child. Its good quality. Very pleased with purchase.

This is the best child carrier back pack
We had an older type for our first child ten years ago. This one is built for comfort. This is like upgrading from a Datsun b210 to a Tahoe loaded out.

Good carrier, with minor flaw.
Overall, we are happy with this carrier. I am quite short - 5"0' and after looking at several carriers, this is the one that adjusted the best to accommodate my height. I am still fine tuning the adjustment, but I think it will work well for me. We use it nearly every day for walks and for household tasks that need to be done while our daughter wants to be involved. My first complaint is that the child's shoulder straps use velcro to adjust and it doesn't stay in place for us. They are constantly coming undone and sliding all the way up. Our daughter is never in danger of falling out, but it looks uncomfortable when they slide up. My other disappointment is with the "zip-off pack" that someone else mentioned in their review. They said that it zipped off if you wanted to leave the pack behind, but ours doesn't appear to zip off. The other thing that would be nice would be better instructions on adjusting the pack. I had tried the pack on at a store and had someone there help me adjust it and show me how to balance the weight between my shoulders and hips, but even with that help, I am still having to slowly figure out the best adjustment. It would be nice if the instructions included some "what-if" scenarios such as, "what to do if the pack is putting too much strain on your shoulders," "what to do if it is straining your back," etc. I don't backpack often, and need a reminder of how to work out the balancing of a pack so it works as it was designed to work.

An excellent choice
We purchased this child carrier for our son and his wife. They hike a lot and absolutely love this. My son is 6'2"+ and it fits him very well, and very comfortably carries their 6 month old, 28" long, 19 pound son. They plan to use it for a long time. A great investment for new parents!!

Fits myself, my wife and our daughter fantastically!
This is a super compfortable pack. My daughter loves it and so do I! It fits us both great and we love going for walks with it on. I thought the mirror was sort of hokey, but it really helps when you want to see what is happening behind you. Tons of storage are a plus too! Great people to order from, service and shipping were bar none!

Excellent Carrier
This really is a top of the line child carrier. It's perfect for my wife and I as we are two very different heights and with a few quick adjustments either one of us can wear the pack. Fully adjustable child's harness makes it easy to accommodate different size children or a growing child. I've used this pack from parades to the rain forest and it's perfect. Comfortable and convenient with plenty of pockets and storage space. The zip-off pack on the back is perfect of small odd and ends when you're on the go and leaving the pack behind. This is certainly a pack that is worth every penny.
