Great Product

Just bought and used this flashlight on a recent 5 day canoe trip. We used it as both a flashlight and more often as a lantern every night for several (3-5) hours each night. Worked great! I was a little hesitant to buy it since I read a review or two that said it wasn't very bright but I did not find that to be the case. I think those reviewers weren't operating it properly (one said that it didn't work well with 3 strong batteries, and one weak, this will be the case with almost any electronic). The flashlight is very bright, and well focused into a good sized spot light. The lantern we used almost exclusively in it's "low" setting as this was ample light to light our picnic table, and the immediate surrounding area. Very solid construction. I do plan to keep it in a small cloth carrier as to not scratch any of the lenses/plastic. I have only good things to say about this little light! Lots of light, solid weather resistant construction, compact size, reasonable weight and easy on the eyes! Kelty did a great job!

Exceeded my expectations

For a lantern this compact, it puts out a good deal if light in both the lantern and flashlight mode. I haven't used this for very long so i can't speak on the battery life, but it's a nice little lantern that is very solidly built, and doesn't feel like it would get crushed stuffed in my pack. The hubby was so impressed we're buying another one!
