Excellent pack
December 22, 2009

Low price excellent construction and extremely comfortable even with 40 lbs of photo gear over all day hikes. May not be as sexy as some of the other packs, but I think more cash in by wallet is sexier. Great service from Altrec.

Kelty Redwing 44
November 04, 2011

I purchased the Kelty Redwing after reading the reviews for a large daypack that I could use as a carry on bag when I fly. I even called Kelty and talked to a sales rep, and he said that it will easily pass the size constraint for a carry on bag as long as I don't pack it full. I haven't taken my holiday trip yet, but I'm sure this pack will work out well for me, and I also have a good over night pack for light camping! Quality materials and construction is first-rate. It has plenty of adjustment for a comfortable fit. I haven't seen ANY negative reviews, and this pack has been on the market for close to 25 years!

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Great value

The 2650 pack is an excellent traveling backpack. It fits my bagpipes comfortably with much room to spare for water and food. Construction is of excellent quality and is comfortable to wear. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an quality day pack!

Bad A** Bag
May 14, 2009

I needed a bag that has great capacity, and comfort, especially when I am on my bike. I looked at Osprey, MHW, and this bag was by far the best. And at the price, you cant beat it. Thanks Altrec

nice pack, lots of features
January 24, 2011

we are swithing from external frame packs to lighter smaller packs that can be used from overnights to full week trips (we hike with 2 labs that help carry our gear), and the Redwing packs are perfect, I got the 3100 and the 2650 is a perfect fit for my wife. very comfortable and well made, a big item for us was the ease of hanging a bag off the bottom of the pack, this lets us add sleeping bags/pads/tent for longer hikes while saving about 3 pounds each over our old frame packs. the new Redwing packs for 2011 look to be the same basic design but with different color choices and sized in litres now...looking forward to many years of use from these Kelty packs.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Great value

Versatile Pack
November 21, 2010

I've owned mine for 6 yrs and just bought one for a friend. It very good for longer hikes to carry your layers of clothing. Very sturdy and larger than it looks... 2650!! It has a hydration pouch which works well for hiding your valuables when traveling. This pack has come with me to 7 different countries. Really easy to travel and makes a good carry on since holds so much stuff!! My only negative is that I'm a girl and wish it wasn't so wide... it isn't that great for when your scrambling up rock, but I love pockets and organization and it has tons!

Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Ease of use
