Kelty Screenhouse (med)
October 09, 2011
Hi, I purchased the Kelty Screenhouse (medium) two years ago. It fits over a large campground picnic table with very little room on either end. This is a large table, seating 5 people on each side. We use it as a dining area, to protect from rain, and to keep out the bugs. It does this function fairly well, with one big caviot! It is a single walled tent and condensation can be a huge problem in the wrong conditions. Because of this, I purchased a Kelty Noah's Tarp 12 x 12 to cover the screenhouse should the conditions warrant. This is fairly cheap protection. I really do not think that there is a single walled tent that can help avoid this problem in extremely humid places! Do not kid yourself, it can rain inside of your tent! When everything is normal, the tent functions great! It is a sit down tent though. We eat inside of it and use it for very little else! For that 10 people can enter on their respective side, sit down to the table and dine in bug free comfort. Put up the side panels and build a little warmth if it is cold outside and enjoy the meal. Keep the panels down and the breeze blows thru readily, and the bugs are stopped in their tracts! That is a very good thing. So for me it works, set-up is a little tricky, and it is very tight! Keep your cool, and put one side up at a time, then walla-walla, your tent is up and ready to move into place! Overall I like it. The large model might be even better with more room! It stakes down nicely and has withstood 35+ m.p.h. winds and rains. So for me, no complaints, 5 stars!
