Awesome backpack
April 12, 2011

I haven't really 'used' it per say because I haven't left for my trip yet but I have loaded it up and worn it around to see what it would really be like when I out traveling; and it's great. The weigh is light and it feels super sturdy. The zippers are almost tucked into the bag and feel secure. I love how the bag unzips and I can see everything that is inside. I wish there were compression straps inside or maybe a small zippered compartment to separate items. My body is 5'5 and less than 120lbs and the bag almost forms to my body and sits close. I have never owned a backpack like this one but it's well worth it.

Pros: Great design, Ease of use, Great value

Saves my back; Sturdy
October 21, 2010

This is good on my frame: 5'7", ~130 lbs. I have a rather long torso, and the hip straps are still at a good place. Its sturdiness and capacity are great. I can fit all I need for a whole day on campus, including gym stuff - or a 1-2 day hike. I have sworn off North Face packs forever because it seems the quality took a nose-dive once NF became "cool". My last NF pack ripped through one pocket and lost all of its internal waterproofing within 2 years. Kelty is always dependable, and Redwing is no exception.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, detachable hip straps

Great multi-purpose pack
March 23, 2012

I bought this to replace my old northface pack that was recently stolen. I used it as my 2nd carry-on/personal item on a recent trip to Mexico and it worked nicely. It easily fit under the seat in front of me, and the exterior compartments make it easy to access items quickly. I plan to use it as my main day pack for hikes as well.

Pros: Build quality, Ease of use, Great value, versatile

Great improvement!
March 21, 2013

I've had an older Kelty Redwing for some time and it is pretty durable, but what I like about the new pack is the improved design and pockets. Better organization make this pack most useful for everyday or on the trail. Good support and a comfortable fit - like the women specific design for shorter torso. I would recommend this pack!

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance
