I had been meaning to get a water bottle for a while, as I needed something to help keep me hydrated at the gym or through my long nights of swing and tango dancing, and bottled water was getting expensive, and never was quite enough. I was ecstatic to see the red colour on sale, as I often wear red and love red accessories. It came beautifully red, bright and rich, but not obnoxiously so, all shiny. It can stand up to being dropped without being dinged too easily - great quality! The sport cap is convenient to grab and drink from too, as I usually only have a few seconds between songs before another partner will grab me for a dance! The only thing is that the tiny rubber stopper meant to allow airflow in so that water can flow out flutters and makes a funny staccato wheezing when I drink, so I press on it with a finger while I drink to solve that issue. Most importantly, my water doesn't taste like anything! The stainless doesn't leech flavours into my water the way plastic or even some other stainless steel bottles have. The stainless is also ridiculously easy to clean, if I ever needed to. I've never needed to do more than rinse it thoroughly with hot water to clean it.

sturdy and durable yet not bulky. just a bit too heavy to carry around the beach or the mall but i wanted the 40oz model so i drink enough water at work w-out constantly refilling a smaller bottle. i ordered the sports cap for the spouse and it takes some effort to pull the spout up. for myself i got the loop cap which is perfect. these do not leak at all! we're very happy with these bottles. oh and the pink one is so pretty while the man got the red one. best thing though was altrec's sale price - i love this site!!!!

I am amazed that Klean Kanteen sells a product that they know leaks. It was even written on the printed tag hidden inside the new bottle I bought! On top of that, the silicone vent valve loudly squeaks like a harmonica when you drink (key of A#). Definitely no good for use in a quite public place. The last straw is that there is no way to clean the sliding spout if you drink juice or milk from the bottle. Adding insult to injury, some of the widely available Chinese knock offs have better quality finishing on the molded parts. On the positive side, the 18-8 stainless keeps the water tasting sweet.

I use this always. It can dent, if you bang it, but overall, it is light and clean. I think it is the best overall choice, between glass and plastic. The size is also perfect for the gym, because it isn't too small to overlook and it is big enough to hold enough water for a workout.
