Great suit and supplier
November 26, 2004

I have been looking at dry suits from different manufacturers before choosing the Kokakat Expedition dry suit and now that I got it I am very pleased with my choice. Your can see in all details that it is very well designed for paddlers. The quality of the fabric and the sewing is of very high. The seals and zippers are also of high quality to secure water tightness which is very important for this type of product when paddling in cold waters. The sizing according to the chart was correct and also gives enough room for active paddlers. The hood is nice to have in place to protect you from rain and cold wind. I am also very pleased with they way Altrec handled my purchase why I can highly recommend them for internet shopping. I very quickly got all the information I needed to my email in order to follow the whole process from order to delivery. I also appreciate the way they are securing all the details for a safe credit card payment. By adding a 2 day delivery to my order I could follow my goods all the way to the delivery address by using the link to UPS that Altrec provided me with.

I have not used it yet but the quality is worth the price. The fit is spot on, I am 6 feet 190 lbs and the large fits me perfect. I am looking forward to using it soon.

Most Excellent Drysuit, if......
April 26, 2012

....the wearer isn't claustrophobic. I really like this suit, it's exceptionally well-made, rock solid dry, and, in my view, looks absolutely great -- in other words it's the perfect drysuit for an "out there" expedition, particularly in colder climes. But, alas, I had to return mine...because I am marginally claustrophobic, and, surprisingly, this malady manifested itself the instant I tried (and I emphasize "tried"....I could never actually summon the courage to zip it fully closed) to put the drysuit on -- unnerved me, to say the least. One other comment: the water-sealing neck gasket, by necessity, is VERY tight. I'm told that numerous buyers return this product because they can't tolerate the tightness around their neck. All of that said, again, Kokatat made a great product. If you've got similar problems as the ones I raised, I would recommend the Kokatat Gore-Tex bibs, and a Kokatat dry/semi-dry top that has been optimized to fully integrate with them.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value, Lasts forever, Performance, Cons: not for everyone....see review

Kokatat Exp. Drysuit
April 12, 2007

i have been considering drysuits for the past couple of years. this one was well worth saving up to buy. this is a very well thought-out and well made piece of equipment. With global warming, droughts, etc., one must now go out canoeing during the colder part of the year--when there is water in the rivers and lakes! i will also use the Kokatat for some sailing, fishing, cleaning up garbage in the river, and probably waterskiing as well. don't waste your money on a cheap 'sweat suit'. i say go with the best!
