A new breathable tongue and a patented 3-D Flex® ankle hinge system with intergrated anatomical elastic snow gaiter provides enhanced moisture management. The sole has a new tapered HP3 midsole with shock absorbing polyurethane ("PU") inserts under the heel and the ball of the foot. A new IBS (Impact Brake System™), designed exclusively with Vibram®, softens impact on hard ground and improves traction by 20%.
The Nepal EVO GTX fits true to size. The Women's Nepal EVO GTX is lasted for an equally good fit and is lighter too - with scaled down components, including more flexible mid-sole for lighter weight climbers. It has a roomy toe box for thick socks and is somewhat narrow under-foot and narrow in the heel to aid in vertical ice climbing. Do not size up if you are planning on wearing thicker socks. The Nepal also accepts all types of insoles for a more specific fit. In height, they come to just below mid-shin. Be sure to size these so that the heels do not slip in the back and you have enough room in the toe box to wiggle your toes. There is no problem with crampon fit - Cyborg, G14, Sabretooth, Dart, Sarken; no issues.
