Best lightweight pocket tool!
April 24, 2010

I use this thing for everyday use. The knife is super sharp and small. I use it to cut open packages and letters. The pliers are helpful in many situations. I love the wire cutters because I used them to cut off my friend's and mine lift tickets when snowboarding. The only gripe I have is that the carabiner is not reliable enough. This is my 2nd Skeletool because I lost my 1st one when it was hooked onto my belt loop while I was running and didn't realize that it fell off. The screwdriver is not perfect, but it had its uses in some circumstances. Overall, all the tools, its size, and weight are perfect for what I need. That's why I bought another. Just have to remember to keep in my pocket and not dangling. Don't want to lose another one.

Simple and the blade is Sharp!

Great knife! If you're like me and never use all those other accessories in the standard leatherman, then this is the knife for you! The 154CM blade lives up to its reputation. The blade, the pliers and the screw driver... the only tools you'll ever really use... efficient!

Purchased the Skeletool from Altrec. It was light weight and the perfect companion for me for some backcountry overnighters. Thanks to Altrec for quick shipping!

Carbon Skeletool
April 23, 2011

This has to be one of the nicest leatherman multi tool knife's they have made. I love the minimal amount of tools you get with this knife. It would be a great compliment to my Leatherman Juice XE6 multi-tool. For the minimalist hiker/camper looking for a great leatherman knife to take with them but doesn't want a bulky heavy knife, this skeletool is a great alternative. You have the stainless steel blade, and pliers, and a bit driver for any repairs on your trip. The only drawback i've heard and noticed, is the pliers are known to be fragile compared to other leatherman knifes. I haven't experienced that myself, I tend to be easy on my leatherman knifes. The main and probably obvious reason I love this particular knife, is the addition of Carbon Fiber to the handle of the knife. To me it's worth the extra money to have a knife with carbon fiber which adds some serious attraction to the appearance of the knife. This makes it very lightweight yet very durable and strong during heavy usage. I mainly use this for collection display. I will cherish this knife for many years. Thank you Leatherman for this awesome knife.

Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value

Has everything you REALLY need

Pros: 1. Superb craftsmanship 2. Blade and tools are very sturdy and precise 3. Lightweight and slim/elegant profile 4. Looks super cool, esp. with the carbon fiber Cons: 1. Ergonomics of drivers could use improvement. There's quite a bit of offset of the driver head from the handle. 2. It looks so cool that it would be gone in a split second if you accidentally left it out unattended. I bought the CX model instead of the regular Skeletool for the serrated blade.

I carry this thing with me everywhere.

This tool has saved me trouble time and time again. You get two flathead and two phillips head bits that store on the skeletool- if you add the optional bit kit, you get another 40 options. The knife blade is very strong and hasn't had to be sharpened in the year and a half I've owned it. Its light enough to take the place of a pocketknife while backpacking, but not so large that it feels bulky in your pocket. I have friends that have said "if you ever go to look for that thing and can't find it, its because I stole it from you." Lucky for me I never put it down.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, knife blade stays sharp
