Outstanding boots
December 05, 2010
I have put a 100 miles plus on these boots on the AT in the Smoky Mountains mostly with a 45lb pack. The ankle support, breathability, design, traction and overall quality are excellent, making hiking long rocky climbs and crossing creeks a breeze. I particularly like the soft leather lining that makes them exceptionably comfortable to wear. With a dressing of good quality leather preservative they are as waterproof as Gore-tex. I expect to put many more miles on these outstanding boots.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueLeather Interior

I opted out on this boot because I found the fit of the Tibet to be better. Otherwise it is a great boot. It is high fitting, so it provides a lot of stability. It has a leather lining, which might be a little warm for most in the winter. I like the spacious toe-box, as compared to the narrow Asolo. It is very comfortable around the ankle, and it doesn't close down too tight so that the lace-eyelets touch each other. The fit is typical for me. I usually wear a 10 or 10.5, but for Lowa I always take a 10.5. It is Nubuck, and the high rubber wall is durable for scuffs, etc.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: too warm for summerAlready own the LOWA Baffin Pro Hiking Boot? Tell us your thoughts.
Lowa Baffin Pro

I recently purchased this boot, and out of all the boots I have tried, this boot has excellent construction and quality materials. The leather lining is definitely plush. Unfortunately, I had to return them as I have a narrow heel, and I just couldn't get the secure fit that you need to have to ward off blisters. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a great backpacking boot to try this boot. If it fits, you can't go wrong. The toe box is more than ample and I have a "D"+ size width. No problems there.
Pros: great construction., plush leather lininggreat purchase

1st pair over 5 years old and still going strong. Can't wear any other boot now. Durable thru snow, mud and hay fields. No other boot measures up. The cost is outweighed by durability and comfort

Good Boots

Pretty tough boots. I used them for a few backpacking trips and really tested them out on a backpack hunt. It would be nice if the boots had a little narrower heel to lock the back part of the foot in. I also would like it if there were fewer seams in the boot, especially on the outside of the foot where abrasion happens. Overall though, I really like the support the boots give, and traction is pretty good. Would definately recommend for people looking for a good supportive backpacking and hiking boot.

NICE BOOT WORTH THE MONEY

Nice boot and worth the money. I am a backpacker, hunter, and fisherman. I work the farm a bit as well. I always wear LOWA boots doing these activities. I also wear a black pair of LOWAS as a duty boot when on duty every third day as a firefighter/emt/haz-mat tech. The Banff are my new fav. LOWA is by far the best long lasting boot I have seen.
