GREAT PAIR OF BOOTS!
My choice of boots was relatively narrow because I wear a size 15. I was looking for a slightly higher boot than the "regular" hiking boot that just covers the ankle. I cannot give a road-test report because I have not put a ton of miles on the boots. But they're well-made and fit perfectly and since I normally wear a 15 they seem therefore neither big or small for a 15. I do wear a medium or slightly heavier than medium sock with these boots. Because of their height they are very supportive which is what I was looking for because I am 6'8" and have a high center of gravity--the more support the better. The boots do not rub anywhere despite their height. I'm very much looking forward to hiking in these. Thanks.

strong support!
I bought several boots in the same time, including this Lowa Tibet, Lowa mountain expert GTX, and Zamberlan Baffin 636. So I have a fair comparison with these boots.
Among these three boots, Mountain expert has the highest building quality. Zamberlan 636 Baffin is also great, Lowa Tibet somehow has a relative flimsy leather and looks not as tough as Zamberlan.
The sole of Tibet is very rigid, almost as rigid as mountaineering boot GTX. However, when you started walking on trails, some initial discomfort disappear very quickly, all you feel is very firm support. The first time I took it out for a 4 mile hike with 60 lb on my back on a tough rocky terrain, there was a hot spot in my left foot when I was climbing. Compared with Zamberlan Baffin, this is a big down side.
Make no mistake, this Tibet does take several hikes to break in. But once they grow into your feet, the support is very good.
Overall, I like Zamberlan Baffin more than Lowa Tibet, because Zamberlan is lighter, give me same level of support, and also more comfortable. I will take Zamberlan with me to JMT this summer, leave Tibet probably for the south America trip this coming winter, give Tibet more time to gow into my feet.

My Favorite HIGH-RISE Boot
The boot is very solid and comfortable. It might be hot in the summer though. The one draw back is the quality of laces. They aren't so abrasion-resistant. I also like the fabric interior, as it is breathable. I heard the interior is the first to fall apart, but we'll see.

Great quality and comfort
Very impressed with the quality of the boot . Fit runs a little small I am typicallly a 9.5 and had to go with the 10. First time wear I put on about 5 miles and had nothing but confort. The heal realy fits well. Love how the boot laces and stays snug after lacing. Planning to use on sheep hunt in the fall in the Yukon territory. Looking foreward to trekking the mountains in these fine fitting boots.

Lowa Pro GTX
Very firm high top hiking boot, allowing extremly good ankle support. Very expensive, but worth the money if your looking for a boot that will meet the rigors of extreme hiking.

great boots
The low tibet boots are a super choice for those looking for a durable and comfortable boot for loading over rough terrain. This is the best fit boots that i have used to date. The lacing hardware permits you to tailor the tension to where one needs the most support.
The only negatives are that they are heavy and take forever to dry should you let water inside.

Great heavy duty hiking boot
I purchased this boot for extended backpacking trips and hunting in the Rocky Mountains of Montana. I wear size 11.5 to 12. I purchased the size 12s which fit perfectly in length. However, this is a wide, higher volume boot. I added superfeet orange insoles and they fit great now. These are a very rugged set of boots that have exceeded my expectations for this fall/winter hunting and hiking in the mountains of MT. I expect them to last for years.

Great brand, great boot
It's very desirable to owe such a boot, which is very warm, and protect your feet enough, I love it very much.

Absolutely tremendous, both in comfort/ support.
Used these on a recent backpacking trip, unbelievable foot/ankle support. Steep decline, loose rocks and I'd have twisted my ankle a few times if I'd not been wearing these. Word, break the boots in before adding orange Superfeet insoles! Inside height in the boot is a little tight, or so I noticed.

it's a good one!!!
I'm an odd bird, in so much as I buy high tech gear that I use as a lawn maintenance entrepreneur, not for hiking the grand tetons. In the fall, I'm often carrying 60 to 90 lbs of wet leaves in a can on my shoulder on uneven hilly terrain,or walking with a 50 lb back pack blower for an hour at a time, this in Atlanta Ga., a city in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains, quite hilly terrain. I bought these boots to stabilize my feet and ankles under the load and my feet have been thanking me ever since. I've only owned them about a week, but , at this point, they are far and away the best boots I've ever used !!!!

The best...........
Six pairs used and owned. ONLY one pair came apart too soon under heavy duty outdoor working use. Support like NO other! Not for the coffee shop types.
