Solid Boots
December 04, 2012
Very comfortable and sturdy boots. Stiff, firm ankle support. Boots seem to run a little large. I wear a 10.5 in Nike SFB and the Lowa 10.5 was slightly too big. I had to drop down to a 10 and they feel great. A little pricey but if you rely on your feet for your livelihood, it is well worth the purchase. They are nearly as light as the Nike's but have more support. The Rocky SV2 are comparable but the LOWAs are much lighter.
Pros: lighyweight, firm ankle support, comfortable heel cup, Cons: priceAlready own the LOWA Uplander Hiking Boots? Tell us your thoughts.
Solid Pair of Boots

These are a great pair of boots, although they do take a while to break in. The padding around the ankle provides good support, but it is a little thick. Sizing is about a half size small for my feet...I am 5'10", 190 lbs. and I normally wear 10.5 US in these types of boots (desert combat-type), but the 11's fit perfectly. I wear 10.5 in Oakley T6s, 10.5 in Garmont, 10.5 in Timberland and 11 in Nike SFBs. Good, heavy leather construction and stitching, these are great boots for temperate weather. They will probably be a bit too heavy for 100 degree plus in the desert, but good in the mountains.
Pros: construction, comfortAwesome looking boot!

These arrived quickly and were well packaged. My first thought was is there really a pair of boots in this box? Yes, and after looking over the boots I knew right away that I made a great purchase. These boots are well made and have an awesome design and look to them as well as being very light weight. When putting on the boot the first time I was amazed at the comfort level. I score this boot a 10 for comfort, quality and of course price and shipping! Thanks ALTREC!
Pros: comfort, quality, pricenot my size

The boots were 1/2 a size to big. I returned them. However I plan on purchasing another pair in the correct size when they are in stock ASAP. The customer service Rep, Jason, was great and I felt more than fully satisfied with the level of care he showed.

Uplander First Impressions
July 31, 2012
My first pair of these boots arrived in a very timely manner (less than 5 days after ordering) and I proceeded to try them on. I normally wear a size 10 but these were a little too small so I had to send them back and order a 10.5, which fits just right. I've read other accounts of Lowa's products fitting a little small so I should've paid more attention to this. Anyway, these boots are comfortable and don't seem to need any breaking in at all. The soles could be a little softer so i think I may wind up changing them out later once they've truly broken into my feet. Ankle support is excellent as these boots are very stiff, but also very comfortable as well. I cannot comment on the long term durability as I've had these for less than a month but perhaps I will add an update once I've used them for a while.
Pros: comfortable, grippy, ankle support, Cons: soles are a bit hard, pricyLOWA Men's Uplander Hiking Boots Photo
