Great boot, fits very comfortably without break-in
August 01, 2010
After trying unsuccessfully to break in a couple other kinds of hiking boots (and suffering sore feet in the bargain), I tried these, and they fit like a glove. They run slightly wider than the Italian brands like Scarpa and Asolo, which allows the footbone a bit more breathing room. I wore them straight away on a demanding all-day hike without breaking them in earlier. I knew this was a risk and expected a few blisters, but was pleasantly surprised with no soreness at all. The boots are also more flexible and lighter than most other hiking boots, while still offering the same level of support. I had been worried about adequate support and protection for an upcoming backpacking trip, but these boots had totally set my mind at ease.
Happy Feet!

This was my third try for the perfect hiking boot - and I found them! Not as heavy and stiff as the Baltoro, better looking and fit than the Renegade. I am most often a 7.5, but now I know I'm a 7 in Lowa. Great support, without being rigid. My feet will be happy for years! Brian in Product Support was a great help, really appreciate it. So glad I found Altrec, already pondering my next order . . . thanks!
Cons: could have better arch support.Write a review for the LOWA Ronan GTX Mid Hiking Boots here.
