quality kids' pack

I bought this pack for my daughter's 5th birthday. Her cheap old pack was from a department store. It was always too big, even with the shoulder straps completely cinched down, the pack bounced against the back of her legs. She is just under 40" tall. This Lucky Bums pack is just a little big for her. With the straps all the way cinched the pack just hits her in the but a little. Its still a huge improvement over the old one, and I'm sure she'll grow into it shortly. She didn't like it at first, until I showed her the whistle. I like the organization of this pack. Main compartment is big enough for her school folder, books, and insulated lunch bag. Their are two back compartments and a pocket, great for extra clothes and stuff. The removable waist strap is nice. I think a good pack is like having good shoes, I'm happy she's carrying this pack.

Bought this pack for our first hiking trip of the year for my daughter and she loved it. Not only does she love hiking but she loves the pack. I thought we would just use it for the trail but today she also took it to school to show it off.

Great small sized backpack with a good amount of room for the little kid who wants to carry a pack and look like the adult, .It's awesome that it has a waist belt and water pouch....Also the cushioning on back of back makes it feel better on our 5year olds back

I bought 3 of these (1 for each of my kids)for a 3-day out of town stay at a hotel. I was able to fit more than enough clothes/misc in the bags for my 1 1/2 year old and my 5 year old, but my 7 year old's was bulging out quite a bit. So I think this bag would do best for ages 5 and below b/c of the smaller clothes size. I purchase 1 pink, 1 green and 1 camo. The outside material of the pink and green are the same, but the camo is made of soft suede(?) I believe they are all waterproof, but it would have been nice to know the difference in material. All in all, the backpacks look and feel great. I hope they will hold up as well as I think they will, but only time will tell.
