TX1 Headlamp 4.9 5 12 12
Well made bright light` The TX1 Headlamp is easy to use, well made, and the red led light on the back is great for biking in low light conditions or darkness. Altrec is a great place to buy gear. October 16, 2011
great product this light is very reliable and easy to use in many conditions. I plan on using it in Mt. Rainier in August. February 3, 2010
...Best headlamp I've used...so far and I would probably rate it as a 4.5...I really like this lamp...but, of course, it is not perfect...I like the beam/s (spot is square, both spot and flood are slightly bluish) and the brightness levels, though there is a little light pollution from the bottom of the housing that can affect low-light vision...I like the flush buttons and the fact you can rotate the lamp into it's frame to block the buttons when it is packed away or in a pocket... surprisingly comfortable considering there is no real padding where the lamp meets the forehead...If I could change anything I would replace the 3C battery pack of the TX1 Belt with a AA battery pack (I own both the TX1 and the TX1 Belt and this change would only be made to reduce bulk and to make batteries compatible with other gear in my stable) though battery life on both (AA / C) is more than acceptable...I like the lamps December 9, 2009
The best headlamp you can buy I use this headlamp for hunting, hiking, riding my bike to/fro work. I love this lamp. It's super bright, easy to use, it's a miser on batteries AND it's super bright. I also like the red led lights on the rear, and that I can put the battery in my front pocket during my bike commute. I waited a few years to update my lamp. This is by far the best. Don't hesitate.. this is worth every penny (This coming from a 40 yr old forester who's been in and out of the woods for my whole life). November 16, 2009
Awesome The light is pretty bright with the 4 modes. I'm 5.0 tall and when the light is on, there is about a three foot circle on the ground and very bright. My headlamp is the brightest of about 25 other headlamps. Now the head beam could cut through fog on a dark night. It is very, extremely, holy crab bright. It takes 3 double A batteries. It doesn't take much adjusting to get the battery in a good place on the strap. You can also put it in your pocket. I have used the batteries for about a week now and it is still bright and hasn't dulled at all. I work nights, so it gets used on a regular basis. I would recommend this headlamp to anybody. A great and powerful lamp This lamp is super bright and compact. It has a great design and lasts 180 hours on new batteries. It's brighter and smaller than the more expensive Lucido X-Zoom. However it does not have the adjustable feature the X-Zoom has. The main lamp cannot be used the same time as the smaller twin lamps. It also has three small red LED's on the back battery case for visibility from behind. A great lamp for the price! September 6, 2009
the powerful lamp I use it for hiking. Its no problem to illuminate a huge area with extra brightnes light.Another thing is,the rear red light.Extrabonus for the cyclists. October 22, 2008
very bright adjustable beam is very handy August 17, 2008
brightest headlamp on earth i bought this light for the main purpose of hiking. i did all the research and decided on this lamp. my one main deciding factor came down to brightness . this light is by far the best lamp on the market . July 25, 2008
Super bright and light! Wow, this the brightest lamp I ever used, also very light. The square beam of the spotlight is really clean and concentrated. The two flood-lights start off on the low setting then you push the button again and it goes to the higher setting. Whereas other lamps start off on the high then to the low. Much lighter then all the competitors with similar specs, and weighs even less when used with lithium AA batteries. June 20, 2008
Awesome head lamp, well worth the price tag Great lamp, focused LED projects further than any of my previous lamps. Both of the "detail" LED's provide crisp light in a great pattern, also can be on dim or bright modes. Only 2 MINOR complaints: 1. When the red LEDs are on flash (located on the back of the batt. pack housing) than your spot and detailed leds pulse, which is very annoying. 2. The headlamp does not use AAA, it uses AA. Must be a typo in both the previous review and on the item description. May 30, 2008
Easy to work; Bright; Well made Simple to use, no "off beat" battery size, it uses 3 AAA batteries, button on left turn on/off the main beam, the button on right turns on/off second beam. I like the feature where the light housing rotates 180 to protect the lenses when stuffed in your pack. The wire from battery pack to light housing is beefy. The light is damn bright! April 12, 2008
