This is my go-to jacket for any outdoor adventure. I had this jacket with me hiking and climbing in Peru and it withstood rain and wind quite nicely. I didn't even notice when it got wet because I still managed to stay warm. The thumbholes were also a great touch. Such a comfy jacket- if there was a mens version I'd buy one for my husband.

I wanted to love this Pike jacket...it was made of high quality materials and would no doubt keep you warm, but it was just too bulky for me. I'm right between a small and med, and ordered the med. That could be part of the reason I felt like the stay puffed marshmellow guy in it. And the insulation to thick for my liking. It may be fine with the small size, but I'm not willing to give it a chance. I'm 5'6 135lbs with an athletic build. I'd still recommend it for its warmth, and if you were to find your right size.

The Mammut Pike Jacket is great. It fits true to size. Wore it for a day hike in 40 degree weather and it kept me warm. Good wind protection. Would reccommend.

Great inner shell

I wanted this coat because I've decided to try and conquer Mt Rainier in WA state in a couple years. I'll be doing lots of training with winter hikes so I thought this coat would come in handy. Where this coat is not a parka itself, it will make a great inner shell for a parka and/or a warm coat for not below freezing temp hikes. The material is very comfortable feeling and I LOVE the long sleeves with thumb holes. I have not got to wear this coat in the rain yet. I am 5'10 and weigh 200 lbs, give or take a few. The XL in this coat 'just' fits. But after losing a little over 100 lbs, I do not plan on gaining anything back so the fit should only get better :-) I have bought from Altrec before and will continue to buy from them as the packages always come sooner than later and just as described. I got the purple one cuz for some reason, it was the cheapest on sale...and I just can't pass up a good deal :-)

Highly recommended for anyone that lives somewhere cold. Super light, and easy to pack anywhere-- I where it to work and on the hill

Nice jacket, great fit. I had debated between this jacket and a down jacket. This jacket would be great if you are climbing up, and working up a sweat. A great spring skiing jacket.
