I haven't used The North Face Etip gloves yet I have seen them in the store. I can't compare them side by side but I would say these marmot gloves fit my hands well and meet most of my requirements - anyway they're for my iPhone. However I still prefer a thicker & warmer pair if possible, you know when it get too cold these gloves are not warm enough. $10 cheaper than Etip, as for me I would choose Marmot here.

Poor Durability

I wore these gloves as liners (under my mitten shells) on a weekend snowboarding trip to Lake Tahoe. The conductive fabric of the finger and thumb frayed terribly over one weekend of use. I expected more from Marmot. I returned them as soon as I got home. They are also not wind proof, FYI.
Pros: Great value, Cons: Wears quickly, Poor qualityAlready own the Marmot Connect Gloves? Tell us your thoughts.
Marmot Connect Gloves

I must say I was a bit disappointed by these gloves when compared to the North Face e-tip gloves. I purchased them along with the very popular e-tip to make a side-by-side comparison. I am a big Marmot fan and was hoping the Marmot gloves were better. Although VERY similar, I felt the North Face etips were a slight degree thicker and the fit (both gloves medium) was more snug in a good way. Both worked with touch screen phone equally well. However, I returned the Marmot gloves.
Comfortable

Great running gloves for cold weather. My hands stay warm enough, but not so warm they sweat. The touch screen compatible finger tips work ok, but not great. Still better than regular gloves though. They run very true to size and they are very durable.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Ease of use, Great valueBlack.
