Description

Great for those trips when the weather begins to deteriorate, the Marmot Baffin Jacket for men is warm, lightweight, fully insulated outerwear that packs down easily to fit in a corner of your backpack. Recently Marmot updated their Men's Baffin Jackets, swapping out Primaloft for Thermal R Eco insulation. Thermal R Eco insulations offers similar insulating warmth and weight through a breathable cross-fiber design, but the materials are made from recycled and sustainable resources that are more eco-friendly than conventional soft shell insulation outerwear designs. The Baffin Jacket features zippered hand pockets, a zippered Napoleon chest pocket and reflective logo elements for improved visibility in low light conditions. Elastic cuffs and an elastic drawcord hem help seal in thermal warmth in breezy conditions. Like other jackets from Marmot, the Men's Baffin Jacket features Angel-Wing Movement™, a gusseted construction that allows you to lift your arms without lifting the hem at the same time.

Men's Baffin Jacket 4.1 5 9 9
Great all round jacket Good for urban wear or backcountry. Cut enables layering or wearing as a stand alone (not too snug or too loose). Parachute type material makes it easy to slip on under something, but more importantly gives it a slick no-frills, yet soft feel. My wife wishes they made them for women! On the downside, it isn't as water repellent as I would have hoped, but otherwise, I would heartily recommend the jacket! August 31, 2011
Good idea but poor execution... This jacket looks better online than in person. I am 6'1" at 175-180 lbs and so got the large to accomodate my arms. The first thing I noted is that the jacket is a bit too shiny and looks thin. I know this new material is supposed to be more durable, but it looks somewhat like a nice garbage bag. Next, I noticed that the jacket was huge! Not enough drawstring action to make up for the waist and the shoulders hung off me. To compare, I comfortably wear a large in the Mountain Hardwear Compressor which is very similar and I would recommend over this jacket. I considered trying the medium which might have been perfect, but it is no longer available and I'm not sure how much I really want the material anyway. Hope this helps. May 19, 2011
super light weight a bit too shiny The product is really well made. It is super light weight and very thin. It is great to wear as extra layer under a hard shell jacket. The only remark I have to make is that it is really very shiny. My husband likes more muted colors and I am not sure if he will wear it out in the city. May 17, 2011
Good fit I am 5'9 and 160 lbs. I ordered the medium and it fits nicely with a t-shirt and a long sleeve shirt underneath. The jacket is very light so I do not feel like carrying lots of weight. I went skiing in Colorado in January in around 15 degree F with this jacket. Overall it is a nice jacket for a good price. February 11, 2011
Quality Jacket but some minor issues This jacket had the same quality construction you would expect from any Marmot product, good workmanship, high quality materials, etc. but I do have two small issues. I'm not real sure why everyone is going to the screened on logos. I know they are reflective but it looks much cheaper than embroidery. Secondly, the outer material of the jacket is very lightweight (whispy) able to compress well, but the inner material is a little thicker not made like the compressor from MH or a down sweater. I had to return this one. April 16, 2010
Great Jacket!! Very satisfied with this jacket. Fits great and looks great to boot. April 14, 2010
Overall worth every penny. Got this on sale thanks to Altrec. I am very impressed by the look and feel of it. I have yet to take this with me on my 30 day backpacking trip, but I suspect nothing but positive results from this jacket. I would highly recommend this jacket to anyone who wants an outer-layer that is light weight, warm, compressible, and breathable. I will post my results after my trip, to see if this holds true. Very light weight, packs small... Overall the jacket fit great. I'm 5-9, 158 and the med. fit well. I plan on using it as a midlayer under a shell. The only goofy thing I found is the black color which I purchased is very very shiny! It's kinda odd and people seem to notice it right away. Not ugly just very unique, it had to grow on me a bit.. Sizing runs a bit large, a little more boxey than my preference. Good looking jacket but the sizing ran a bit big, the shape of the jacket was too boxy for fitted use, and overall the jacket just didn't impress me. For my recreational and social use, I went with the Patagonia Down Sweater Jacket and it works wonders. December 1, 2009
