Marmot Cauldron Hoody
December 28, 2011

Super sweet jacket, no doubt. It's well made, light and super warm. Perfect 3 season depending on layers. Only drawback is it seems to be a tad of a tight fit under the arms, asmost if there is stiffer stitching that tucks under the arm pit. This is a must have.

Pros: Build quality, Performance, Great value

Great Coat
May 06, 2011

I loved this coat from the moment I put it on. Great feel, soft yet durable. The sizing is accurate and overall I would suggest this coat to anyone. I use this in Northern Idaho and pair it with a light base layer...I haven't been cold yet.

Better fit than most jackets in this range
April 14, 2011

I have been looking around for a jacket in this range for quite some time, and I found that the Cauldron fit better than most, and is actually a bit cheaper than most. This jacket fits/feels great, and seems to be constructed very well. The price on here is quite a steal, and the lowest price around. I'm confused why I haven't seen this jacket more places. I'm 6'3" and 195lbs, and the large fit me well. The sleeves might be sliiiightly short if I extend my arms up..but barely. I like the way the hood and neck fit, because I don't feel like I'm chocking when it's zipped up all the way as I did with other brands of the same type of jacket. The only draw flaw (and it's not a game changer) is that the inside is lined with a bright blue color. I'm not quite sure why they decided to do this, it makes no sense to me at all (must have been a style decision). Other than that, this Jacket is almost perfect

very nice
February 24, 2011

I like this jacket alot. It is very warm when worn with an underlayer. The media pocket on the breast is very convienient. The main flaw i found was with the main zipper of the jacket. It was VERY cumbersome to zip and is impossible with gloves on. I had to jiggle and fiddle with the zipper to get it connect.

Nice jacket
February 09, 2011

I was looking for a light, easily packable, polyfill hoodie for backcounty skiing, winter photography, and other active pursuits and this fits the bill just right. It's not something I wear while skiing, but is perfect for pulling out to keep warm during breaks or during long, ambling photo shoots. It's nice and warm and feels very comfortable down to zero if I'm just a bit active. The medium is a tad tight across my shoulders (5'10" 185lbs) when layered over a base and mid layer, but it doesn't restrict my movements. I considered sending it back for a large, but I prefer a close fit for active clothing and figured a large would be too bulky.

Warm and Affordable
January 11, 2011

I purchased this coat for my boyfriend as a gift. He immediately fell in love with the product because it was comfortable and warm. His only complaint was that he found it ran a little small. He is about 5'9" and weighs 190 lbs. He wears the coat everywhere and is very pleased with the product. Thank you altrec and marmot!

I bought this for my finance and it was a great buy. Very comfortable, not too puffy, and warm. Only concern is the material seems a llittle fragile. Have not had any trouble so far.

Excellent winter jacket
December 07, 2010

This hooded, recycled, insulated jacket fits like a dream, is extremely soft, comfortable and warm. I am 6' 170lbs and the Men's size Medium fits perfectly. I like that the sleeve cuffs are adjustable instead of elastic (for comfort in layering) and the hand pockets are extremely warm, even softer and warmer than the zeus jacket. The only thing I am not super fond of is the lining which really is fine. I have the black and would prefer the interior to be a matching black or grey (like the embroidery) and instead it is royal blue. Just nit picky I guess. Overall I would highly recommend this product for anyone who wants a warm, comfortable winter jacket or layer underneath rain gear.
