Men's DriClime Catalyst Jacket 4.8 5 12 12
We've had our Driclime Windshirts for about 10 years & LOVE them. We live in south Texas and wear them for our winter jackets most of the time. Keeps us snug & warm and really keeps any biting wind out. Have also taken them to layer under clothes to Minnesota in January, Montana in November, & even to an island in the Bering Sea. They perform amazingly well. Recently got new DriClime Catalyst Jackets because our old windshirts don't have any pockets. This has pockets for our hands and even a "chest" pocket that we use when we layer up. It's not waterproof, but rather, breathes so that we don't overheat when we're hiking long distances. Exceeds all expectations & we consider them "must haves" whenever we travel. We've recommended these to many other birders and have given them as gifts to our lucky friends and family. Great jacket I selected this jacket over the Wind Shirt because of the zip up pockets and the ablity to stretch with movement and it ventalates well. This is a great backpacking jacket and it also looks fashionable in the city. I wanted the versitiliity. It is large enough to have a medium layer underneath, but, still fits well with only a t-shirt on. This jacket is true to size. When backpacking, this is one performance wilderness jacket for early morning and evening chills, wind and light rain. But, I also look cool downtown when I commute to work. I was always waiting for the jacket version of the Wind Shirt. Finally, now I have it. You will not regret getting this. This will be your go-to jacket. If you notice, gearheads have this on their backs. Even urban dwellers will get a sence of adventure wearing this, it makes a statement and lives up to it. But best of all, it's not that expensive. Just get it. May 24, 2011
Great jacket I use this coat for jogging it breathes nicely and still blocks out a good amount of wind. The weight is awesome. It is water resistant but will soak up water in heavy down pours. It is very flammable and will get holes quickly from sparks/ embers. Overall great product, very versatile. It could use a pull cord on the bottom to seal in heat. Great mid layer. May 3, 2011
one item to always have with you Own several of the "original". This is better. Comfortable, warm and easy to carry. Good for a first layer, and excellent second layer. Easy to layer because of the fabric, and weighs virtually nothing. I keep one on my chair to "throw on" to walk the dogs or catch the one in the yard who wll not come in. It is not waterproof but works great under a shell. When dirty wash on delicate and hang dry. They seem to last forever. April 18, 2011
A Classic - But Better This jacket takes the classic DriClime Windshirt and does it one better with stretch panels for ease of movement. Driclime windshirts have been my go-to layering pieces for years, since they're super warm for the weight, breatahble so you don't overheat, wind and water-resistant (not -proof), and best of all they slide so smoothly underneath other layers, you hardly know they're there. WAY better than regular old fleece. With the greater flexibility of the Catalyst, and the benefit of pockets, these have become my favorite garments of all time for multi-purpose layering. The best!!! Lightweight, breathable, comfortable, warm. Great for skiing, climbing, running, biking. The most frequently used piece of clothing in all conditions. January 12, 2011
This is a quality jacket with more versatility than a windshirt or windjacket. The warmth lining of the polyester fleece is perfect loft and ideal for temps from the low/mid 20's through the 50's. The jacket is lightweight, but the material is not flimsy like so many lighter jackets, it has strength and integrity to it. The pocket access drawstrings that draw the waistline are a nice addition, helping the jacket wear well and look more form fitting as opposed to many open bottom windshirts. The front pocket has a mesh secondary pocket which is great for keys, lip balm etc. and the reflective material along the breast pocket as well as logo on right sleeve has made this a jacket that is now part of my running routine in the mornings or evenings, which was not part of my initial intent with purchase. The only drawback, and its been noted before, is that when tossing this jacket on over top of another long sleeve layer the lining in the sleeves tends to catch and bundle, easy to fix, just an annoyance. I prefer the warmth in the arms, but some may prefer to get a design that doesn't have the insulated sleeves for ease of wear, weight and warmth. A minor note is that the main zipper is narrow but strong. The zipper does not have a standard cushion or siding, the nylon material of the jacket rides right up to the teeth of the zipper which made me concerned at first, but I have had no issues with the zipper. I have always been a fan of Marmot and this jacket has completely reaffirmed my faith in the product, top notch all around; weight, comfort, versatility, added features, design and integrity. Great lightweight jacket I was looking for a lightweight, waterproof, windproof, breathable jacket to wear for skinning, and it has been great. On a normal Colorado day, I wear a midweight base layer and this jacket for my trip up the mountain, then take my down sweater out of my pack and wear it under the jacket for the descent. Awesome Jacket, Although it fits me a little larger, I still like it. Thanks to its Driclime materials,it can provide every function you can imagine: Waterproof, windproof, Breathable and Warm. I feel very comfy with it in some outdoor activities. January 2, 2011
A must have... This jacket is awesome. Its reasonably light and comfortable to wear. It stops the wind and helps keep warmth in. The driclime is quite comfortable and soft enough even on bare skin but the jacket is still easy to put on and take off. The only downside is that the pockets are unlined and that the jacket is a touch shiny and and not super quiet but its pleasant to wear. The exterior material sheds water and even if it gets a bit wet it dries so fast that its amazing, same with the driclime interior lining. The jacket has mesh lining around the armpits area inside for ventilation and a different material on the exterior in the same area. It looks good and overall the jacket breathes well. Great for mid to high activity. December 16, 2010
awesome jacket It is light and comfortable. Breathable jacket. Great midle layer for high activity. October 2, 2010
Lightweight and Waterproof This jacket is very lightweight and waterproof (rain seems to bead off). Size medium fit perfectly (6'0", 160) in arms and length and provides excellent mobility. Only flaws are that the nterior lining of the jacket may be uncomfortable when worn with long sleeve shirts underneath and the lighter colors may be prone to showing wear over time. Overall a great-looking, functional jacket to protect you from wind/rain! September 23, 2010
