Marmot designed this wicking softshell to be one of the lightest and most agile in their outerwear collection this season. The Ether DriClime® Jacket offers Marmot's DriClime® Moisture Management Technology, a distinctly plaited, bi-component knit fabric construction that transports moisture near your skin to the exterior of the jacket. As the inner moisture is redistributed, it spreads out across the outer fabric to expedite the drying process. DriClime® is a mechanical fabric innovation--not a chemical treatment--so it doesn't wash or wear away like some breathable jacket designs offered by other outerwear clothing companies. The Men's Ether DriClime® Jacket features an attached roll-up hood and easily compresses to pack into a pocket for convenient adventure travel portability. Perfect but too delicate for backcountry

Very light, very breathable but not durable at all. It's absolutelly comfortable for me from 12 to 22 C degrees with single t-shirt and from 0 C degrees with mid layer (note that temperature range can be different for you, depends on your singularity, air humidity in your region, etc.). Non waterproof but will keep you dry in case of short-term rain. Also it dryes super fast when get wet. I think it's very good choice for city (as every day peace) or around town tripping, but it's too delicate for long backcountry tripping and especially for forest tripping. When I was in a forest I tore my sleeve because of very small and not sharp branch.

New Model is a Step Down

I own 7 Marmot windshirts, I love them all, and they are all different from year to year. To my knowledge, Marmot has never made a hoodie windshirt for the ladies - hence the reason I bought the men's version. I am 5'5'', 120 lbs, I usually wear women's M or S windshirt (the sleeves are sometimes too short on the smalls though). The men's small fits me perfectly. The sleeves were long enough, the shoulders weren't too big and the waist was just wide enough to fit over my hips. But I was disappointed with the design and the cut backs they made presumably to save weight. Although it is light for a lined, hooded windbreaker-type jacket, the driclime lining they used in thinner than in older models and the lining ends about 3 inches from the wrist - what!? I want the soft lining down around my wrists! The hood is not lined either - wish it was, but it is tailored for a nice, snug fit. There are zippered side hand warmer pockets - not lined either, bummer. It's a great jacket and it is hands down, my favorite piece of gear that I own (the Marmot windhshirt in general), everyone should try it! It wicks great, dries out SUPER fast and keeps me warm even when damp, and for being pretty lightweight, it is SUPER durable. LOVE.
