Good down jacket
November 15, 2010

Greenland is slightly warmer. It looks bigger. However, It is very warm. The outer fabric is more sturdy than it looks. The very large pocket inside is a plus. The hood is roomy enough to fit over a helmet. The Greenland Jacket is a competitively priced, well-rounded, and efficient down that will keep out almost any type of cold.

Warm but puffy
January 30, 2011

This jacket fit well but did not like the oversized hood. My wife said I looked like an overstuffed marshmellow. Will admit this would be a very warm jacket in cold weather but returned it for the reasong listed above.

I'm a woman, 5'4" and 130 athletic pounds. I can usually wear a men's XS when necessary, but this was only available in a small so I got it anyway and am very glad. I wouldn't change a thing. I chose this jacket after doing a ton of research and trying several other brands, even though initially I worried it might be a bit "oversized" for me, because it is the only parka that fit all my requirements: super light weight with no unnecessary features to weigh it down; high loft incredibly warm down; fabric that is lightweight and flexible; superb anatomical design especially the neck, hood, and face opening with no gapping or excess length in the neck/ hood, not to be used with a helmet; very high quality; spacious shoulders with easy movement; extra down at the top of the hood where we actually need it, and really good distribution of down throughout including the sleeves (which most other jackets failed at). I usually travel alone, doing winter back country skiing and winter mountain hiking. The warmth to weight ratio means I don't think twice about throwing it in my pack, so I am always prepared for the unexpected; and it feels great to sit down in the snow for lunch at 10,000 feet, sweaty from climbing, and toss this jacket on before the chill sets in. I stay warm and snug enough to rest and recover before I hit the trail again. No other jacket that I tried was nearly this warm and comfortable. I wouldn't wander into the back country without it!

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Great value

super warm

Excellent warmth to weight ratio. I was concerned that the material might rip while climbing the grey tower at night but stood up to rock climbing very well. The internal packable pocket is very handy as well. Great hood as well.

The jacket is really light and warm, a good combination for any mountain activity. It's also very comfortable and true to size. I absolutely recommend it.

a good warm jacket
February 14, 2011

There is an extra large pocket on the side that will fit almost anything you can throw in it. This jacket is amazingly warm and I definitely recommend purchasing this coat!! High quality down jacket,I call it a mid-winter weight for the Minnesota winters. Love it and would highly reccomend.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value

Great jacket. Just as I expected. Well worth the money. The nylon shell isn't extremely tough, so if your planning on walking through thorn bushes you will probably want another jacket because this one will rip. It works really well for activities that don't produce a lot of body heat. (Sitting outside and not moving). I did find myself getting a little hot wearing it in 20 degree F weather. This jacket will get the job done in well below 0 degrees F temp.
