Solid Jacket for Riding
February 16, 2012
Always struggled with North Face and or other jackets that are short at the bottom and end up riding up my back while (mountain) biking. This jacket is an inch or 2 longer than others and is great for the weather here in the bay area. Perfect for a 50 degree day with a bit of wind and mist and also solid for a 70 degree day when you just need another layer. This jacket was exactly what I was looking for.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Great valueLove the jacket

Awesome jacket, it is really comfortable and very good material. I have already purchased this jacket as an oyster layer, but decided to get one in a size smaller to use by itself to train. It does a great job of keeping the wind out. I would highly recommend this jacket.

Perfect if used for what it's intended to do. That means minor cold (30s, 40s), minor wind and rain. Water beads up on it quite impressively, though I wouldn't try a serious storm with it. (Other liquids do too; I've worn it in a restaurant once and I can say accurately that deflects barbecue sauce as well.) Fits quite well - a slim-fit - on me. I'm 5'10, 170 lbs and ordered a medium; my only complaint is that the sleeves are a little bit long. It's not so snug, though, that you can't put something under it if it's a bit colder outside. I often pair it with a hooded sweatshirt or a heavier sweater when the temps dip into the low thirties or anything below. On its own, it has a great range of motion and is quite flexible.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of usegreat jacket

Great jacket by marmot, lightweight but still keeps the wind out Great for cold morning jog or long bike ride It is much better the other brand of windstopper material because of its matte finish

Great jacket! Great fabric, warm, comfortable and a great fit. Great for forty degree days with wind and light rain. Fit is perfect to size ordered. I would recommend to anyone.

Great Jacket!

I bought this jacket for my boyfriend. He is 6 feet tall and about 180 lbs. He usually wears an XL, but I got him the L and it fit him perfectly. The lime color is awesome and great for being more visible for cycling and running at dusk. He wears it for casual and for physical activities. He got many compliments from his friends.

Nice Jacket
January 03, 2012
Based on others reviews, I decided to purchase the jacket in a Large size. I am 6 foot 185 pounds and the jacket fit good. Since it is an athletic cut, it didn't leave a lot of extra room, but fit fine with a long sleeve shirt underneath. As others mentioned, the arms are rather long for the sizing. The jacket itself blocks the wind as advertised. I was looking for a light weight jacket I could use for cooler temperatures and this fits the bill. However, I think I may want some additional lining since it it much lighter than I expected (could be a pro or con).

very nice jacket-soft material--the Marmot logo is a bit large (and particularly on a black jacket shows up quite prominently), but otherwise perfect
Pros: Build qualityGet what you pay for

Great Jacket. I bought it for climbing in the fall/early winter as well as to use under a shell for skiing- basically what its described uses are. It is warm enough when moving - it would not be warm to just hang around in unless the temps are mild. This jacket is very versitle for aerobic activities. I used it for four days of sandstone climbing and it still looks like new. The fit was excellent - athletic but easy to move in (I'm 6'1" and 180lb a large fits perfect) it has a good amount of stretch and is cut to allow easy arm movement. Moderate rain is no problem and it keeps the wind out like a champ. I was a little scared off by the price at first, but the jacket is top quality in every detail, so you get what you pay for.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, PerformanceFunctional, stylish jacket

This is my favorite windproof jacket. It's held up against some significant wind, and also repels some light rain. I'm 6'3", 175lbs, and use a medium in this jacket. This is one size smaller than I usually use with most shirts/jackets, but the athletic fit of the Leadville and its slight stretch work well for me. It's lightweight, but provides some warmth in cooler temperatures.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, PerformanceNice looking Jacket Little big though

I just receive this jacket and I am 6 foot 180 lbs and bought a size large. Way to big for me. I am returning it. Nothing wrong with the material or quality. The marmot logo is quite huge on the front and wish it were stitched.

I had the medium weight jacket and the specialist said the heavier weight was exactly the same but...heavier. Not so. It's really not the same fabric at all. A bit stiffer and not as comfy as the other but I think it will be fine for the colder weather.

Overall very impressed

Athletic fit is great, breathes very well and wind resistant is about what I expected. Sleeves could be a tad shorter (about 1/2 inch) but this is not a dealbreaker by any means. Zippers are good quality and pockets are the right size. Would purchase this again for sure.

Best lightweight softshell on the market!
March 02, 2010
I purchased this as a lightweight jacket to wear on cool camping nights and around town. It is the perfect weight for mild nights or for high aerobic activities. As with all Marmot products the quality is second to none and the green color is really cool. My only quirk is the reflective logos, they look cool at night when a headlamp shines on them but I think I am a bigger fan of stitching / embroidering logos.

Fits nicely.

I was afraid that a medium would be too small, but it seems to fit nicely. I'm ~170 5'10" male. The only waterproofing test I've done is pouring water over top of it. It is fun to watch water just bead up and roll around the surface. I took it for a run on a windy day this past Saturday. I had a long underwear layer underneath and I stayed warm.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of useBest softshell for the money

Of all the softshells on the market Marmot has clearly done the best job of providing a great fitting, great performing jacket for a reasonable price. You just can't go wrong with this one. Not very thick but still keeps you warm thanks to great wind and water protection and breathes easy.
