Like to be dry?
March 25, 2011
These pants are light but tough and absolutely waterproof. They have zippered legs that are ample enough in size to allow the pants to be put on while wearing shoes. One thing I really like is these pants have an adjustable elastic band in the cuff that allows you to cinch the pant tightly to your leg for added water protection. I used them hiking in the driving rains of Ireland and stayed totally dry. You can count on them to make hiking pleasant in the worst of weather. I wear them for winter sports too and they perform just as well.

Pure Protection

When a storm hits and you are in the backcountry, there is nothing worse than not being with good rain pants. The Marmot Precips have been around for years for good reason. Great fit, doesn't weigh too much, not too baggy, and no water leaking in. I would highly recommend this pants to friends and family. And the item fits pretty true to size.

great pants, very comfortable for competitive sports

I play Ultimate frisbee, and have an early pair of Precip pants from Marmot, which I have gotten a lot of use of. This new pair is every bit as good, offering excellent flexibility and breathability in a highly aerobic sport.
great pant

Marmot precip pant , fit right you have to buy one size up to fit over pant if that is what you want to do otherwise if not the size will be right, for the price you can't beat it to keep you dry
the featherweight I was looking for

I didn't get these for sports- I got them because I love to walk in the rain and sometimes have to work outdoors in the rain, but I don't like to get wet. They are perfect over jeans, easy to put on and take off, plus they are quiet when walking. Best of all, they weigh almost nothing and pack down to the size of a large wallet!

Found these to be very comfortable and a good fit. They don't hold me back movement wise and are breathable. Haven't tested out the water-proofness of it, yet, but anticipate the usual reliability of a Marmot.
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Great valueOctober 02, 2011
I bought an earlier version that did not have pockets. It is very hot and didn't breathe well despite the precip rain jacket being so popular. Perhaps a newer model is more breathable but would be csreful about this. Size seemed to run small. I am 5' 8" and 148 lbs. Medium is quite snug.
Cons: Bad design, hotVery Good Pants
January 12, 2011
Purchased PreCip pants and jackets for our trip to Alaska. 7 days of kayaking in the rain and cold of Prince William Sound. Very comfortable when paddling and at campsite; stayed completely dry; good ventalition; and very durable. We thought it would be ripped to shreds the way we went through the brush around our campsites, but it looks as good a new (who needs gaiters?!). We use the outfits as a windbreaker. Works well even in 20-30 mph gusts. As for the fit-purchased a medium. My inseam is 31 in with a long seat, 34 in waist. Decent length for the legs but tight around my, well, butt. Waist just fine. If I had to replace these pants, I would get the PreCip in large.

Solid Rain Pant/Great for Winter Activities
January 27, 2011
I went with the PreCip based on past Marmot quality as I have the Oracle Rain Jacket. I like the PreCip pants, and was pleased to be able to get them in a short length. Only problem is these pants do not breathe well. Gets real humid inside , so the outside conditions really have to be wet to make them useful. In retrospect, I would go for the full zip on these, instead of the half. Other than that, work real well for winter activity. throw on a baselayer underneath and go. Great for winter hiking and snowshoeing, especially in slop./
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Great valueGreat for hiking

These are great pants! They are very lightweight and pack away very easily. I especially like that fact that I can put them in my pack and pull them out when needed. They fit well over pants or shorts and are very comfortable. When the rain stops, they easily go back in my pack.

Good quality waterproof pants
October 15, 2012
I used them many times this fall during light rains and I really like them. They are waterproof and moderately breathable. They have 3 zippered pockets and I find it very useful. I usually wear size S and they are true to size. The Short length option is really great. Im very satisfied with this purchase.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Great value, Cons: zippers are not water-tightedGreat in the rain!

I bought the full-zip version of these Marmot Precip pants for my husband for his bike commutes in the rain. The sizing seemed appropriate (medium pants fit), unlike my experience with the women's version (seemed smaller than usual women's sizing). These pants were great for a waterproof layer when vigorously snowshoeing, too!

Love 'em
March 06, 2012
I have had these for about 4 years and have worn these as overpants for everything I do outside and the weather is rainy/snowy/chilly. Bike rides, motorcycling in the rain, hiking and working in the garden center at my job. Never had a leak, never overheated never got wet. Other non biking specific pants got tangled in my front chainring, not these. I am 5'7" 230, and can still move quite well wearing size large/short. Am moving up to XL for a bit more room. They pack down small and are just ounces, easy to take along and live pretty much permanently in my day pack. I have them along where ever I am. Love 'em. I would say last forever, but I have only had this pair for 4 years. Still waterproof.

A must to keep dry
August 31, 2011
These are great in wet weather, they are light and easy to pack and access for the unexpected down pour, they are very comfortable and easy on and off with boots on, etc. They fit a little large but that is a plus when wearing over other pants. I would recommend not hiking without a pair in your pack. If you are serious about keeping dry in wet weather then you will want these with you.
