the best soft shell jacket is the marmot one, it is warm , light and also line with a little fleece on the inside not like alot of other wind stopper jacket that the inside is rough

First softshell / like it!
This is the first soft shell I've worn, and I like the ease and comfort of the fabric which does have very good wind stopping and strongly water resistant qualities. Fit too is really nice, slim fitting with just enough room for layers of wool t neck and and a down sweater. The only thing I would like to see added is an external chest or sleeve pocket.

Sharp Point
I like the material better than the gravity jackey as it is light and more flexible. My biggest issue with either of these jackets is the fit. I like form fitting and comfort, but wear the jackets primarily for everyday wear. the small fits, but is a little tighter than i prefer. The medium is far too big for the type of activities i wear this jacket for. 1 inch to 2 inches shorter in length would be perfect as it would not hang up around my back pockets. I do like and use the arm pocket on the Gravity jacket and miss not having it on the Sharp Point.

Great Jacket
Provides very good warmth down to 40* with a long sleeve T. Worn it in light rain and strong wind with good protection. Slight tapering fit through waist and hips, but helps with weather resistance. Flleece lining in sleeves makes arm entry challenging. My go to jacket above 40*. Good quality and worth the cost.

Great jacket
Very nice jacket indeed and very happy with the purchase. Had bought a Sharp Point a few years ago. However gave it to nephew bcos he liked it. Been looking for a new one since and then picked one up here at a very good price.

Not worth the money
Fits a little to snug under the armpits. I like how you can unzip the armpits for circulation. I think the price is steep for a layering jacket. Jacket appeared to be good quality.

Excellent Purchase!
I purchased this jacket for my husband and he loves it! It's warm yet easy to layer as well. He's received several compliments and couldn't be happier with the jacket!

Sharp Point Jacket
This is an excellent cold weather jacket. I am 6'5'' 180lb, and I originally purchased a medium. However, it was tight under the arms, and upper back. I ordered a Large and it fits perfectly. I would recommend this jacket in cold and windy conditions to anyone!

The Best Jacket That I Have Ever Owned!!
Bravo Marmot! Once again you have surpassed yourself in the design of another great jacket. This is not only durable enough for snowboarding, but it's a "night out on the town" jacket as well.
I get so many compliments on how nice this jacket looks, even from my Ex. wife and that's saying something.
So go get one, you won't regret it!

Worn for 4 winters
Great jacket through New York Winters 4 years to this year. Tough, flexible, and style. Gore Tex works.

This is a gift for another. The quality looks great.
Great job Altrec in getting this great looking gift to me in such an expeditious manner.

GREAT jacket
Very warm and great in the rain. Beware the picture though. That is a prototype that Marmot never produced.

One of the best!
This is a high-performance soft shell. It does everything it is supposed to do--repels water, blocks wind, has some insulating capabilities, and fits great. I have worn it in a white-out on top of a Colorado fourteener and it kept me warm and dry. Temperature was high 30's, the wind was gusting about 35-40 mph and I didn't notice. This week I wore it in light rain and the water beaded up nicely. You can wear it in colder weather but I would have a layer or two underneath. Shell is soft and flexible, unlike TNF Apex Bionic which feels stiff. I can put this in my pack without it taking up the entire thing. Weight is relatively light. It can cover a wide range of conditions with the right clothing/layering options. One note: the collar does not fit snugly against my neck so I can feel the cold air. Not a problem if I am wearing a t-neck, but when I wore a collar-type shirt the other morning, I did notice the cold. Is the jacket worth the high price? Depends on what you are looking for. You can find other soft shells that do the job for a lot less. This one is very well constructed and has pit zips, something you may not need. Overall, I have been very satisfied.

Excellent jacket
I use this jacket for xc-skiing and it's both very breathable and warm. However GTX windstopper has its limits when it comes to releasing body moisture and the inside ended up being quite moist after a 26 mile marathon.

Great Shell
I really have enjoyed this new jacket, it has great warmth to weight ratio. So lite I hardly knew it was on.

Good overall jacket
PROS: Good warm jacket with excellent windproof qualities. Like the inner fleece which eliminates the need for a mid layer. Excellent fit. Hem chord really helps to seal the jacket Pit zips are great too. Stylish looks CONS: Lack of chin guard Could be a inch longer for any given size. A bit heavy but that's the trade off for fleece lining.

Great Jacket!!!
Living in San Diego it doesn't get that cold but this winter it has been in the high 30's just about every morning. The Sharp Point has kept me real warm, and the pit zips come in handy as the morning heats up. I really like the look and fit of the Sharp Point Jacket, Marmot makes great products and this is another one to add to the list...

Lacks Chin Guard
I have had this jacket for over a year now. Everything is OK except for the absence of a chin guard against the zipper. On sunny days of skiing, I prefer to use only one layer which is zipped up to the chin. And in a few hours I land up with a bruised chin.

love this jacket
I really like the windstopping qualities of this jacket. I bought a large that fits a little baggy on me but that leaves some room for some fleece layer under it when it gets colder. Now I use it for bike commuting with a long sleeve T-shirt under it. Perfect in the windy high desert Santa Fe Fall.

I do everything in this jacket
I hit the resorts, hit the back country, snow camp, ice climb, and peak bag with this jacket. I love the articulation in the arms. It never rides up, even while ice climbing. My only complaints are that the velcro cuffs are so sticky, they'll fray the thread stitching at the wrists right below the velcro. It's still in one piece though. Also, you'll want to layer with a form fitting insulating fleece with this jacket. It's not warm enough without layers. It is just a shell, after all. With layers it's perfect. I've been in -15F with this with no probs.

Great soft shell jacket with great looking
It's highly water resistant and blocks the wind too. It's comfortable, looks great, and is a much better soft shell jacket then other alternative brands.
