My FAVORITE hoody!
December 20, 2011
I've been wearing this hoody around for a few months now, and I absolutely love it. The thumbholes are a great touch, and are probably my favorite feature. I will be using this as a midlayer for skiing next week, and I have no doubt it's going to do a great job of not only regulating my temperature but also keeping snow off my wrists. Comfortable, warm, versatile - I only wish they offered it in more colors!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueGood hoody

I bought another, similar North Face stretchy midlayer that I expected to keep instead of this, but I loved this one so much I kept both. Very trim cut. I am 6'3" 200lbs and the large is a very "athletic" fit. I think it will fit nice for athletic activities. This hoody has a fleece lining in it that makes it very comfortable and adds a little warmth for how light it is. I see me using it as an outer layer over a tshirt on cool (below 50 degrees) hikes or as a midlayer on colder days.
Pros: Great design, Build qualityExcellent Hoodie

I am a sucker for hoodies in the winter. The combination of warmth, comfort, style in this hoodie does not disapoint. If you are in the market for a great hoodie, it is worth the wait to place a back order for this one. Fits snug as others have suggested, but that makes it a fantastic layering piece. It is slim enough to fit under a jacket, but thick enough to wear alone. Highly recommended for hoodie lovers!
Great, but runs small...

...I'm about 5'11 and 175lbs, and usually a Marmot medium has the ideal "athletic" cut for me. I didn't realize that this hoody was like a power-stretch/membrane item, designed to fit extra snugly. If I can find a large, I'll probably order it because I liked the construction, quality and the thumb holes; size was the only reason I gave it 3 stars for "comfort."
Pros: Build qualityGreat Light Jacket
December 19, 2010
Vars Hoody is a great light jacket that can be worn year round. After reading the buyer guide in Outdoor magazine I decided to give this jacket a try. Having already owned the North Face fleece I was was wanting something a little lighter and more breathable. Also the North Face fleece is not available with a hood/thumb holes so the Vars is a perfect combination. So far the jacket has held up great and the sizing follows the other Marmot jackets I have (Super Hero, Zeus vest and Precip). Highly recommended if you're looking for a light fleece that can be used in many situations.
Pros: Great design, Build qualityGreat Product

The Vars Hoody is very comfortable and the thumbholes are a nice touch. I was expecting the wind resistance to be a bit better though. All in all, I am very satisfied with my purchase.
Pros: Great design, Build quality
