I bought this for my husband to replace another favorite down vest he left behind in a hotel room. Perfect to wear either in that sunny weather day of 40 degrees over a long sleeve shirt or in much colder days to layer under heavy coat. Wonderfully light and soft like being wrapped in a puff of cloud (Yes, I tried it on myself).

Just what I was looking for in a vest.

The vest is a little spendy, but the design and materials are exceptional. Provides fairly good protection from the cold without being too bulky. If you want a form fitting look chose the size you normally wear. If you want a loose fit, go a size larger. I tried both and was surprised at how much of a difference in appearance it made.

Stylish and Warm!

I got this vest for my husband because he does not like to wear coats during winter. This was the best alternative in order for him to stay warm during the cold winter months. As soon as it arrived it was everything he wanted. From the fit to the color of the vest. I got him the gargoyle gray which goes perfectly with almost everything. I personally love this color! He wears the vest over a long sleeve shirt and he is very warm.

Excellent vest, just forced the wrong size because there were no larges left and the medium was a bit snug so I had to return- not Marmot or Altrec's fault. Great quality and exceptionally light with sturdy construction- wish they had my size!

I would like to say that Marmot makes nice down jackets. This vest is very warm and light. The material is soft, the overall design is nice and comfortable. Perfect being a midlayer or just wearing ease at home.

Great Match for Tamarack Jacket

Just received this vest to zip into my Tamarack jacket... I'm 6'7" and like the Marmot jacket, the vest is nice and long for a tall person. No riding up the hips... Light as a feather for backpacking, great fit, packs into it's own pocket and warm... Cannot comment on durability (yet but I expect to be pleased) however fit and warmth are spot on. Zip in/out gives me options on layering. Looking forward to winter hiking in NH.

This vest is super light in weight but it is very warm. It is very comfortable. Definitely recommend if you are looking for something light with warmth and comfort.
