this hat is super light super warm and it has a bill like a cap to the light out of your eyes. It is also compactable and will fit in your pocket. this is a must for a colorado mountain winters

This hat is basically exactly as described and meets the high-quality standards for accessories from Marmot. It was way too small however, so I had to return it. Also, I prefer hats with higher crowns since they look better on me and the photo led me to believe that would be the case.

Disappointed

I was very disappointed in this hat. I have an average size head, but this hat was too small. If Marmot is going to make a one size fits all hat with a draw string for pulling it tight, why not make it larger and the people with smaller heads can use the draw string. Also because of the general smallness of the hat the ear flaps are relatively useless. I will return this hat & look for one that comes in sizes.

I bought this hat mainly for fishing in cold wet weather. April in northern WI can be brutal. I tried it out in Jan. for general outdoor activities - walking the dog, shoveling snow, ice fishing. I like it pretty well. My only issue is that when the ear flaps are down the bill of the hat sits down over my forehead a little too low. This tends to block my vision a bit. On the positive side; the hat is warm & waterproof, the flaps keep my ears & the back of my neck warm. The quality is great.
