Trestles 15 X-Wide
January 31, 2012

I have now gone thru 12 sleeping bags, and this is the first one that fit me just perfect! Im a bit bigger than most people, and the x-wide fits perfect. At 6'4" 325 lbs this bag is perfect for me. If your on the bigger side and tired of being 'mummified' this bag will be perfect for you. My little brother is 5'10" 285 lbs and he will be buying this bag also. Thanks to the altrec team that pointed me into this direction

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, great for big people

Love the bag. I have 3 down 20 degree bags North Face(Blue Kazoo), REI(Sahara),and another Marmot. This one is just as awsome and even a little warmer. I will admit that it is a little heavier by a pound but this bag is hard to beat. Durable, comfortable and economical on your wallet!

I was very happy with this purchase. I was looking at a lot more expensive bags, but decided to save the cash and I'm glad I did. This is a fantastic bag for the price and I would recommend it.

long extra wide

Called C.S. to order a North Face mummy bag. The rep. was VERY Helpful. Because I live in Florida he questioned my wanting a 20degree bag. After explaining my need, he asked if I have ever has a mummy bag before. Stating No > he explained the advantages & disadvantages and suggested I may want to look at the Marmot extra wide as I do not sleep on my back. After my first use of this bag, it IS the right choice. Price Warranty and yet another reason to shop Altrec.com PEOPLE

Trestles 15
February 19, 2012

Went up the mountain the other day and tried out my new bag. It was windy and in the mid 30s. I was very comfortable and the bag was roomy enough not to be claustraphobic. It came with a nice compress sack. Shipping and service were excellent.

Great bag, great price

This is my first decent sleeping bag. The price is wonderful, and it's a quality bag that I know will last a while. I would highly recommend this bag. It's not the lightest, warmest bag, but it's great for 3 seasons (a little warm for the summer though...) and a great bag for even an avid backpacker.

Very good for car camping and short backpacks
February 05, 2013

I've owned the wide-long for about 6 years now. It's been on several Scout trips and has served me well. I'm 6'2, 250 lbs and very broad-shouldered. This is one of the few bags that I can actually move around in. I sleep on my side, so I need a little more room. It's kind of heavy and sometimes the roominess is a liability when it's really cold, but overall the room is worth the trade-off in heat efficiency. On the other hand, I've slept in 15 degree weather with this, wearing a full base layer and stayed very warm. It has plenty of room for clothing and boots in the bottom for those cold nights, which also eliminates the "too much dead air space" problem. If you're looking for "fast and light" this would not be the best choice. The quality and value make this a worthy purchase for occasional backpack trips and car-camping.

Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Great value, Cons: weight and bulk
