Previous reviews were most accurate: -Went one size up to Medium and it really fits like size 4-6 with room for the girls, layering, yet still beautifully trim over the hips. -Absolutely drop dead gorgeous on; fur-lined hood frames the face, up or down. -Adequate sleeve length for the long-limbed (5'9" 130lbs) -The dark olive shade is perfectly classic, way better than the online pic of the color. -Marmot's M2 soft-shell technology provides more than adequate warmth without bulk. -Could not be more pleased; thank you Marmot & Altrec! -Did I mention it's on sale?

I wanted a jacket that would was good for the cold, but still looked nice. This jacket has a nice look and I can't wait to take it out on a cold winter day and see how warm it is.

Love this jacket both for on and off the ski hill. The fit is great and the fur detail is very soft and looks wonderful. I love this jacket.

This coat is great. It is a perfect fit (I'm a very average medium) and it is lightweight enough for any activity. I would suggest something else if you're looking for heavy duty winter wear, but if you're like me and prefer to be cold rather than warm, this one is perfect.

This jacket is so cute but it does fit a little on the snug side. The sleeves are particularly slim and it's kinda tight across the bust as well. If you want to wear more than a thin layer underneath, suggest larger size. I use it for spring skiing. I'm a size 8 and ordered the medium, I can wear a thin turtleneck underneath. Stayed warm in 40 degree breezes on the ski slopes of Colorado.

I bought this coat in the Auburn color in a medium. I am a size 8 and it fits just right. I really think it is warm and definitely wind/water repellent. You can wear it dressed up or down. My only issue is that the sleeves are long. Otherwise awesome coat.

I love the Furlong jacket. It looks very nice on a thin woman. I have a fuller figure and when I put this on, I looked like the michelin man. I'm returning it.

The hood is a very nice feature on this attractive - active style jacket. Size runs true to size where a medium fits an average size body. Jacket is not short in the body like NorthFace tends to run. Haven't worn it much, since I just received, but first impression is that it is comfortable.

I love this jacket. Not only is it warm and fairly weatherproof, it also looks great! The fur hood is my favorite part because it is makes the jacket super cozy. I also opted for the white one because I wanted to go for the snow bunny look :)

I love this jacket. I have finally found a jacket that is warm enough to wear skiing, snowshoeing or even riding the snowmobile. It is slimming and sheek. The hood is the best part and I received so many compliments on the color. It's not bulky and is so comfortable. Great pockets and super warm. I love it.

It looks as nice on as in the web picture. My daughter wanted it for herself, but luckily it's not her size. As others have noted, sizes run a little small if you want to wear a thicker sweater under in the wintertime. The weather here turned warm the day I got the jacket, so I have not yet tested it outdoors, but I suspect that unless you're very active, it wouldn't be for really cold weather. I'm really happy with my jacket. In fact - I already longing for next winter!

The jacket is great in every way except it is shorter than expected, almost too short. If it had another inch and a half the jacket would be perfect.

Bought this jacket as a xmas present for myself. Usually wear a small but didn't want to feel constricted. Jacket fit well although the arm length a bit long. Fur is so soft and the hood so inviting I have it up most of the time all snugged in- love the jacket.

This is a great coat. The best part is the hood - perfect for Fall/Spring in Chicago. I would go up a size to wear a sweater underneath. I'm sick of having to wear large, puffy coats to be warm - this one is perfect - slim fitting & warm. I get lots of compliments too!

I love this jacket. The fit, style and warmth are all top notch. I love the fur lined hood and collar and the ease of which the hood flops over. This is my go to jacket for any day that is between 35 - 50 degrees. It is my first Marmot jacket and the quality is evident every time I put in on.

I adore this jacket. The tailoring is beautiful and the fur is so soft! I am 5'3", 110lbs, and the xs fits perfectly with some room still for layering. This jacket is so versatile, and stylish, it makes rainy, windy days feel warm and not so gloomy.

Heavy Hood

I bought this jacket after reading all the wonderful reviews, but as cute as it is, the fur-lined hood is too heavy hanging behind my neck when not in use. I'm 5ft 92lbs and got the XS, but it was too loose on the upper back when I tried to wear it over a thin sweater. I had to return it :-(

LOVE LOVE LOVE this jacket!!!!!!!! I now have in two colors...perfect! Cozy without being too bulky...fitted and flattering! I ordered by the size chart and did well. The M fits a 5'7" medium build perfectly. The S fit, but did not leave room for layers and since the jacket isn't thick...ya need a little room. Best part is that even with the room it is slim and attractive:)

This is a very cute jacket. I am a size XS in pretty much everything and I can wear an XS in this one, but not with a thick sweater (I don't wear thick sweaters though so that's fine with me). The jacket is very, very short though, which is odd for an "outdoor" brand. For this reason I would not wear this for hiking or any outdoor activity where you want your hips/bum to be warm. Cute for urban wear but that's about it.

Because the jacket is so fitted it is not suitable for layering up if the temperature gets colder. It is versatile and can be used all year in cities as well as outdoors.

This is a great coat! Warm when you're outside, lightweight enough for shopping and best of all, it's flattering! Order a size up if you plan on wearing something heavier underneath (sweater). I'm looking forward to getting another color as soon as available.

After searching multiple sites I found that Altrec.com had the Marmot Furlong Jacket at the best price and range of colors. I purchased this jacket for my mother as a Christmas present and she loves it. It is a great high-tech, but fashion savvy, jacket for women.

This jacket looks great on. I get compliments frequently. It does run small so definitely needed to size up. The brown is very nice against the faux fur. It is perfect for dressing up in my casual mtn. town.

I just got the jacket and have worn it only twice so far, but immediately started getting compliments on it (got the Auburn in a medium). I live in Vermont, where you still need a good wind and water-repellent jacket in (what we call)spring, so this is perfect. It is keeping me warm and dry so that I don't have to wear my serious winter coat anymore. I am 5'4 and 125 pounds and the medium fits with a bit of room (plenty for a shirt or not-too-thick sweater). The sleeves are slightly too long, but not so long that it's a problem. I am confident that I will enjoy this jacket for a long time. The furry hood feels great on too...

Gorgeous jacket. Loved it so much purchased another in different color. Material is high quality and feels silky yet with stretch. The fur on the hood super cute and soft. Fit a bot small for heavy layering but perfect for Spring.

This jacket is very flattering and stylish, and the faux fur is like a built in scarf! I think it runs a bit small. I am a size 8 and the large fits just right with a t-shirt underneath, so if you want to wear a sweater underneath be sure to go a size up. I'll feel silly if I find it, but I don't think there is an "inside zip pocket" as in the description.

Cute Form Fitting Jacket

This is a really cute jacket that's very form fitting so you can't wear thicker clothing under it. The jacket is a stretch material, I thought it would be more like a ski jacket. I looked on Marmot's web site for more info before purchasing it but it didn't say anything about the temperature rating. It was perfect for the football game I used it for, the temp was between 40 - 50 degrees. If it was any cooler out it would not have been warm enough & you can't really layer since it's a tighter fitting jacket. You probably can't ski in this unless it was a really warm, sunny day. Overall it's a stylish jacket that will be good for after skiing & around town.

I'm loving this jacket!! I was looking for a jacket that I could wear casually and still look great out to a nice dinner. This is the one! The hood is so, so soft and luxurious and the fit is super...not too loose and not too tight. I'm a 5'7", 175 lb big girl and the XL fits great...probably could wear a L, but I don't like a coat too tight on my broad shoulders.

I like the weight of this shell and the styling ...I will have to return it only because I prefer the raven to the espresso and was not avail in first choice color here. Price was a bargain since it is $150 on most sites right now

I just got my dark olive and I so love it. Its warm, and high quality. I'm 4-11 and 90 lbs and the xs is just perfect. Finally I found a jacket of petites. I usually buy xs Mountain Hardwear. Patagonia xs is still too big for me, I returned th ultralight down jacket. Now I can get Marmot.

Firstly, it fits me perfectly. I like it as a stylish and fashionable jacket. The collar's style is my most favorite. But the Water Repellent feature is not very well.

I love this coat! First of all it is adorable. Second, it is perhaps the best waterproof layer I have ever owned. I live in Laramie, Wyoming - elevation 7200 feet, wind gusts easily up to 75 mph, snow like crazy, and it protects me from the elements over a fleece or sweater even at -25 degrees. Alone it is light but perfect for a chilly, rainy day. Over the appropriate gear it does a surprisingly nice job (considering the light weight) of keeping me warm. I highly recommend it.

I am very impressed with the Furlong coat. It is just the right weight. May need a size up if you are going to put a bulky sweater underneath. Very nice looking jacket.

I got fooled by the size chart- there is one section called "women's and unisex" but the unisex was listed first, so I ordered the wrong size and now they are all out of the size I should have ordered in the first place! Bummer! It is a beautiful jacket, the fur is especially nice and the hood is actually a very functional size and shape (why can't most companies get with this??) I would prefer a slightly slippery-er lining so it would glide more smoothely over sweaters, that's the only slight down side. It's a beautiful jacket, too bad I got the wrong size!

I love this jacket so much that I bought another in a different color! I wear a large top and it fits true to size. The fabric is durable enough to wear with a pack, but it still feels soft. The faux fur around the hood is really cute, too. I always get compliments on it!
