Excellent shell and rain jacket
I bought this jacket as a shell for an upcoming trip to Alaska and have been wearing it around San Francisco since I got it. My size Medium Monkeyman Fleece zips perfectly into my size Small jacket so I'll be all set for colder weather. I am 5' tall, 125lbs and the Small fits great on its own, while still leaving plenty of room for layering. I've been wearing it out in the rain and it's kept me totally dry. The one thing I don't like about the jacket is that the hood tends to flop over into my eyes unless the jacket is completely zipped up, but I've had that issue with other jackets and I only find it a minor annoyance. The zippers and pockets are all well-made, and I like that the side pockets have velcro to keep things from falling out of my pockets even if I don't totally zip them up. I would definitely recommend this jacket to anyone looking to invest in a high-quality, versatile shell.

Great Jacket..
This jacket is great! I use it for skiing and I love it. The only downfall is no place for my ipod. Other than that great jacket!

Great fabric and style
Not a bulky jacket, and the fit is perfect. Colors are very bright! I bought this jacket because I didn't want a lot of bulk.

Good slim fit
This jacket in size medium fits me well, with little extra bulk. Even with a fleece jacket beneath, it still appears fairly slim. I do not like the flap/velcro opening on the same side as the zipper; it makes it more difficult to start the zipper. I bought this jacket for its Zippin feature, which I have liked very much on a previous Marmot jacket. However, my old Zippin vest does not fit this jacket (my vest -medium- is too big for the zipper track). Now I'll have to buy the Furnace vest, which is supposed to fit the Palisades Jacket.
