Runs small
May 22, 2011

Very functional and good looking pants. It's a good cut not at all bulky. Got it at a very good price on sale. I usually wear an XS in Marmot but on this pants, the XS is way too small. I would recommend this pants but make sure to go 1 or 2 sizes up.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: cut too small

suggest order larger size
March 04, 2009

I'm 5'4 and 105 lb, the small regular was too small to layer over 1st garmet, too short rise, and too short in legs. Nice quality, though.

Durable, Tight Waist
April 07, 2011

I'm 5'2'', 110 lbs, usually size 0P or 00P in regular clothing. I ordered an XS, and while the legs and length fit perfectly, the waist is super tiny (the size chart said it'd fit 25'' waist, and mine is 25, but it's quite tight and I can't imagine trying these on after dinner). Will probably reorder a S. The material is awesome though - smooth and durable. Looking forward to hike in these! Also love the zipper - so convenient to slip in and out.

Wonderful Pants for Wet Wheather
January 20, 2011

I bought these pants to go on a fishng trip on the Columbia River. They were very comfortable to layer over a pair of jeans and kept my legs warm and dry in the boat. They were easy to zip on and off over a pair of boots. A definite "must have" pair of pants for wet wheather.

Great Wind Pant
December 16, 2011

I bought these for my wife after owning. She really enjoys the ease of getting on off with the full zipper. Packs up small so easy to carry in pack or car. They are windproof. Fully zipped up they do not breath well but that is to be expected, just adjust the zippers.

Pros: Performance, Ease of use

ripped way too easily
January 23, 2011

I bought these to use for rain and wind protection on Aconcagua and they ripped the first day in the bum just from sitting down on rocks, and then in two more places during the course of my trip from normal use (hanging out at camp, sitting down on the side of the trail to rest). Had more duc tape than fabric by the end! I had to throw them out at the end of the trip.

Cons: Wears quickly, Low performance

Love them!
April 11, 2009

I'm 5'4 and 150lbs. I carry most of my weight in my hips and thighs and the large fit perfectly with a little room to spare. Lightweight, easy on/off.

Marmot has a promising premise with this offering of waterproof/breathable/windproof pants. The shortcoming is in the sizing: I wear a size 4-6 and I am 5'9" tall. I had to buy size LARGE, TALL. That said, the pants barely fit me and the rise is way to short for outdoor active wear of this kind which is supposed to be designed to wear over layers.

Pants are cut pretty small or I am fatter than I think!
January 08, 2009

My husband & I adore all things Marmot. We have been extremely pleased with our Cloudlight (Membrain) rain jackets and decided to purchase the full zip Precip rain pants for the daily bike commutes & for hiking, snowshoeing, etc. I am normally a size 2 or 4, but the XS pants are better sized for a child. (My Marmot jacket/tops are XS.) I had to return the XS pants for a Small, which do fit, but I guarantee that they will not fit a "pear-shaped" size 6 woman (as on their sizing chart). My small pants are definitely ankle-length, not longer, so someone > 5'7" tall may need a bigger/longer pair. The full zip feature is really nice, and the pants come with all of those wonderful flat Marmot seams/zippers. So far, the pants are great for rainy bike commutes! Altrec is really nice about returns, too.

zipper not waterproof + size not right
August 26, 2009

After a short period of time in a light rain the side zipper allowed water through. Not waterproof at all. Besides I normally wear short inseam of 29'' but the short inseam of this pant is really short, only fell on my ankles. Also, the full side zipper opening without front opening is uncomfortable.

Great Pants
May 10, 2011

I love everything from Marmot. Their quality is top-notch and they're style is very flattering for women. As others have said, these pants ran small. I'm 5"4' and 120lb and the XS fit me perfectly if I wear leggings underneath. Luckily my mother is smaller than me so I gave them to her and bought myself S. I've only done some light hiking in them but they are comfortable and held up in light rain.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use

Great Pants!
April 20, 2010

These pants fit great and keep you very dry. The full zip is convenient for taking the pants off over boots, and I loved the multiple length options to pick from.

good for light rain
July 17, 2010

lightweight, not truly waterproof. Good for water resistance, but not heavy rain

Great fit!

These pants fit perfectly and keep you dry. The full zip makes it convenient to take them on and off over boots.

great pants
August 16, 2010

sized smaller so order up! I'm 5'4 and 110 pounds the small was WAY too tight so I ordered the medium and that's even a little tight. other wise a great pant for backpacking easy on and off over boots well worth the $$

Good fit
August 18, 2010

I bought the small short size. I am 5'1" and usually fit into size 2. I wanted a waterproof outer layer that I could wear over a warmer fleece layer for a trip to Kilimanjaro. They fit me perfectly. If I were not going somewhere cold, I might have opted for the XS.

Great fit and function
December 21, 2009

Easy to get on. Love the full side zips. Lightweight to wear over my running clothes or jeans without looking frumpy.

Very Functional & Fit Great Too!
June 11, 2009

I bought these for my wife prior to our recent climb of Mt. Hood. I happen to own a men's pair of the Marmot Precip Full-Zip Pant. Besides mentioning that she liked the fit, she agreed with me that they perform their duty nicely. They breath well, shed rain and snow as advertised, and pack down small when the time comes to put them in your backpack.
