Finally a hiking pant that fits.
October 26, 2010

I am slim and petite — 5' 3", 102 lbs — and finding hiking pants that don't need to be tailored has been a problem. These Marmot pants are great. I ordered the XS in Regular length (the Short would have been too short for me), and they fit well everywhere, but have enough give to allow me a pair of light to medium weight long johns underneath. The waist is a tiny bit higher than what I'm used to with my non-hiking pants, but it's not so high as to be unflattering. They probably run a little small, which is why they work for me!

Very good quality product.
January 01, 2011

These pants are made from a very durable, water resistent fabric. I am 5'7" and usually wear a size small. These pants did run a little short, so I will have to exchange them for a medium. They are great for fall & spring outdoor workouts.

Great, versatile pant
December 28, 2009

The scree pant is amazing. It is soft and comfortable, offers a degree of warmth, is water resistant, and they look good! I don't like to wear "running" outfits, or "hiking" pants. Even though I hike and love the outdoors, I like a bit of a crisper look, and the scree pant provides that as well as being incredibly functional on a hike.

Form fitting comfort
November 14, 2011

I am so excited about the versatility of these pants for hiking Kilimanjaro. They are lightweight, breathable and water resistant for for the earlier days; and form fitting yet still roomy enough to fit a couple of base layers underneath as we approach the summit. I hope I don't wear them out before my trip! Just kidding, they seem ultra durable - I just love wearing them.

Trim and versatile
January 24, 2011

If I could own only one pair of pants, it would be the Marmot Scree! The fit is trim and flattering, and the size Small with Short Inseam is perfect for my 5'1" height and 115 lb. weight. The material is waterproof yet soft and comfortable making it suitable for a wide range of activities - from mild weather hiking to winter sports, and from airplane travel to going out to dinner. The well-designed ankle zip and drawstring is convenient for wear with boots, or for rolling up and cinching at the knee in warmer conditions. My only complaint is that they are so difficult to find in my size, for I'm ready to buy a pair in every color.

Love them in black, not so much in grey
October 18, 2011

I have had a pair of these in black for about a year now, and have worn them quite a bit, mostly for 3-season hiking, backpacking and camping (they are lined and a bit too warm for summer). I really love them, as they are comfortable, practical, and look great on the trail or off. They shed water and dirt quite well, wash well, have a bit of stretch and fit great (I wear a petite pant size 7/8 and have trouble finding technical pants that fit in length - the medium/short in this pant is perfect). However, I bought a second pair in granite and will probably return them - somehow the fit seems quite different - in grey they look clingy and unflattering. I may exchange them for another pair in black, or try for a larger size in grey.

Pros: Build quality

great pant and great fit
January 21, 2010

I have worn these pants over and over and they hold up really well. They also fit perfectly. It is hard to find XS pants that fit correctly so you are not dragging around extra clothing as you are trying to hike or climb.

Terrific pant
January 28, 2011

Just wore the Scree pant on a day hike for the first time. Fit is fantastic; flexible, soft and warm. Great for scrambling up trails, over logs and simple hiking. Attention to detail in zippers and tapering of leg. Only slight con is the waist is higher than most pants I wear, but this did allow me to tuck in my underlayer - a plus on a cold day.

Great for hiking
August 30, 2011

I own several pairs of hiking pants, and this is my first pair of softshell pants. Wore it for the first time last weekend. And oh wow, I wished I had bought this earlier! It has a better fit compared to hiking pants that are nylon, with the plus point of being windproof and warmer. Definitely a must get!

My Favorite Hiking Pants
November 25, 2011

I love these pants! The fabric is very comfortable - soft on the inside, durable outside, slightly stretchy, and warm. Perfect for spring and fall hiking, but you could wear them in colder weather with a pair of thin long-johns underneath, or in summer at higher elevations. I like them so much I bought a second pair, and hardly ever wear any other hiking pant now. I especially like the drawcord at the cuff, which allows you to cinch them snugly over your boots to keep out dirt, light snow, and,... scree! I bought my second pair in the long length to better accommodate this. (I am 5' 7.5" and 130 lb, and wear the small). Unlike another reviewer, I like and prefer the grey/gargoyle color over black - more feminine looking. Overall a great pant and highly recommended!

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance

great pants!
February 24, 2012

The marmot scree pants are the most comfortable hiking pants I ever purchased. The material is very durable and stretchy. I'm 5'4" and 120 lbs, the short medium is the perfect length and fit. I purchased the regular length in small before and it was a bit long and tight on me. I love the pants so much I purchased 2 more pairs in black and gargoyle.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use

Very Nice Pant
July 08, 2010

The fabric is thinner than anticipated, but overall it's a very comfortable, stretchy pant. They run slightly small.
