great compact rain jacket
July 18, 2012
lightweight, completely waterproof, darts to fit to a woman's body without feeling like a bag, fits into a 2.5L nylon bag for easy storage in a backpack. the strato is an all-around fantastic option in a great price range. the marmot quality is great and being 5'3", the shape of the jacket was flattering to someone shorter with room to layer. would definitely recommend this jacket for anyone both for those who need to travel light in rainy climates and yet smart enough styling for city-wear too.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use
WOMEN"S STRATO JACKET
August 06, 2012
I'M SO HAPPY! Everything about this jacket is perfect. Fabric is lightweight, fit is true to size. I would not change a thing Is super pack able and lightweight. And on top of all that, is feminine and flattering. Just the best! I love it.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
designed for the rain
June 22, 2010
i bought this pullover for something light and rainproof during the rainy new england spring and it's been great. the fit is comfortable for a curvy girl like me and the hood is pretty awesome - it has a curve to it that really protects you during downpours.

I love it! I haven't tried it in a hurricane, but it works great in light to medium rain. It's also very light and the shape is quite flattering. It doesn't make you look like a marshmellow.Pros: Great design
LOVE THIS COAT - great fit - not bulky or frumpy!
February 20, 2011
This is the best wind/rain jacket I have ever purchased. The fit is great - not bulky or frumpy at all. I wore it out in the rain/slush one day and I was dry as can be. When it got cold out, I just put on a my Marmot fleece as a baselayer and it was nice and warm too. The coat sits right below my waist (not below my rear end), which is exactly what I wanted. The hood is perfect and lays flat when I'm not wearing it. The lining is great for movement - I didn't feel the least bit confined (even with the fleece layer). The shell material is soft and very forgiving. It's not "crunchy" or thick or "rubbery" as some rainjackets are. I bought this coat for an upcoming trip to Ireland and I cannot wait to wear it there! Of course, it'll pack well both in my suitcase, under my seat or in a backpack!Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
Great Jacket, Didn't Fit
December 07, 2010
This was a gift purchase. Fabric and technical details are outstanding, I own the male version of this coat and love it. The sleeve length in a women's small was unfortunately too short for a 5'6" thin framed female and the medium was too large. Unfortunately we returned the jacket, but if it's a fit for your physique I would highly recommend.

Excellent shell - great for everyday wear, or wearing into the backcountry. This shell was selected as Gear of the Year as well. I plan to use it as my go to coat!Pros: Build quality, Performance
Great coat, wrong size
January 26, 2011
I really liked this coat and the blue color. I went with a large due to my large bust-34D full. I'm only 5'2 and the sleeve length was too long and overall it was roomy on me. I'm not heavy, a size 4-6 but I'm curvy. I went with the large due to my bust size. I should of stuck with a medium. I will reorder in a medium with the same style and brand.
Great all around coat, one flaw
March 03, 2011
I like this coat a lot, it fits great and the sleeves are the perfect length on my petite frame. I was hoping for a jacket that I could tuck away the hood, but when I tried to place the hood into the zipper pouch on the collar it caused the collar to be way to bulky, and uncomfortable.Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of use
Great lightweight rain jacket.

Everything about this jacket is perfect. Fabric is lightweight, fit is true to size. I would not change a thing.
Black Marmot Jacket

Superb quality of jacket. Fit perfectly, looks great and it is very comfortable. I wear it all the time - day use, hiking, running. Love that it is waterproof too.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Great value
Marmot Strato Jacket
August 18, 2011
I have had the Precip jacket previously. It was a nice jacket, but over time the rain got through. The Strato jacket seems more water proof - so far I have only worn it in light rain and it was great. The jacket is very lightweight. The sleeves and collar are lined with a soft material which is night. I expect to wear this in all seasons except for winter (I'm in Chicago). The fit of the jacket is also great - I'm 5'2" and the small is good - not fitted, I can wear a sweater underneath which is what I wanted. (I tried the Patagonia Torrentshell first in size S and it ran larger than this one).Pros: Great design, Build quality

After moving to Portland, realized "waterproof" and "raingear" needed to enter my vocab and warddrobe immediately. This Strato rainjacket from Marmot is fantastic. It truly does keep all water out, and it is very stylish I think (at least for raingear!). It seems to be constructed well, and it fits me perfectly. I would say the fit is right on--If you usually wear a medium, order a medium and it should fit well. I think Marmot has become my favorite outdoor clothing brand after buying this jacket!Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
Fits a little small
March 04, 2011
I like this jacket! I just got it yesterday, the shipping was really fast too. My only complaint is it fits a little snug around my hips, I got the XL and I am usually a 14/16. I have to lift the bottom of the jacket up to my waist to zip it up. I'm tired of looking for a rain jacket for biking so I am not going to return. It is a sharp design otherwise.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Cons: runs a little small
Not good for long arms
March 09, 2011
The sleeves are about 6 inches too short on me, but would probably be good on a more petite frame. I am 5' 9", 135 and a bit broad shouldered. Though lightweight, fabric is nice and jacket is well constructed. Wish it fit, but it's going back.Cons: short sleeves
No Clamming Up
March 23, 2011
I am loving this jacket. It is extremely windproof/waterproof and the design is great (very lightweight), but the thing I love most is how very breathable it is. No clammy inside when you are active! Great job Marmot! I have been impressed with the quality and durability of Marmot items in the past and I remain impressed and grateful that they have maintained .Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
Great rain jacket for hiking
April 19, 2011
I was looking for a new rain jacket as an outer shell for hiking this spring and summer -- I've used it now over a dozen times and am very happy with this product. It's kept away the rain, wind, and wayward mud splashes without any issue. The structure of the jacket is a slimmer fit, which I prefer to some of the bulkier versions out there, so please take into account when ordering. I normally wear a size Small (4-6), and can wear this jacket over a sweatshirt/fleece layer. If you wish to layer beyond that, order a size up.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
Great rain shell!
March 02, 2011
Recently tested the Marmot Strato jacket out on a particularly rainy and windy day... and it held up well! My only complaint is that the sleeves are a tad too short, but other than that, this is a great jacket!Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Cons: sleeves too short
December 15, 2009
I run every morning and this jacket is great for wind, snow and rain. I highly recommend it. It is also true to size, and has great pockets for small items like keys and money, and bigger items like gloves and hats.
