Lighter weight than your traditional ski jacket, Marmot's Tamarack Jacket for Women is built with Marmot Membrain® fabric, making it just as waterproof and breathable. While the Tamarack has reduced bulk, it hasn't lost the features of ski jacket, PitZips™, powder skirt, laser drilled sleeve and chest pockets, handwarmer pockets, draw cord hem, and a DriClime® lined collar. And for added versatility, the Tamarack has zip off hood and is Zippin™ compatible.

KAT - 2009-05-31Love this jacket.
I haven't tried it on the snow yet. But it looks very stylish and technical, which was a main thing for me. I was looking for a something bright and very stylish to ski in Aspen. There are a couple draw backs: it doesn't have much of under layering, especially sleeves (but I guess you can fix it by wearing an extra fleece sweater), sleeves don't have the inside grips and there is only one inside pocket. But I still want to give this jacket 5, because I look very cute and fashionable in it.

I love this jacket. I reviewed many styles before making my choice. It is a versitile jacket. The shell is harder then most which adds for durability. It fits pretty standard to size. Great for just about anything.

I was looking for a versatile jacket that would work for skiing and other outdoor pursuits and still look OK with a pair of jeans for knocking around town. This fit perfectly and allows for a fleece zip-in. I also got a down shell and it fits under nicely too for really cold conditions. Marmot construction is top-notch.

Excellent fit and great fabric. Extremely well made. Have not been able to try it out in the cold weather as yet though so I can't comment on that.

It's a shell, so it has a zip in capability (not compatible w/all). I wore it to Scotland/London and it was raining and windy. Water would roll off or shake off easily. It blocks in wind but i wore it with their gravity soft shell (not zip-in compat). Better than my North Face Summit shell...
Anonymous - 2009-05-01Great features, so-so color, long arms
I bought this jacket for its technical features and the fit, and I was slightly disappointed. It fits pretty well, with a decent shape (instead of just a box) and has room for layering, but the material around the pit zips is really stiff, and I found the arms to be about 2" too long. I am 5'2", 120lbs, and I ordered the extra small. Also, the blue is extremely bright, to the point where it is almost teal, nothing like the picture... I am still trying to decide whether I want to keep it. I may exchange for the North Face Varius jacket.
