We needed a lightweight, breathable trail shoe for my son this past summer and trust the Merrell brand. The kids' Ventilator is true to size (kids size 4). Shoe breath-ability and durability are both very good. Granted this is a lightweight, low-cut shoe, but ideally overall lateral support (reduced tendency for torsional twist down the length of the shoe) could be a bit better.

We bought these to go backpacking with a scouting trip. They are very comfortable and fit my sons foot nicely. Hopefully they last as long as his shoe size does. They look good and they are comfortable. What more could we ask.

This is a hiking shoe and as a result has a very stiff sole. This makes it harder to break in for our 8 year old. Still, it is a quality product made of good materials

My 7 yr. old son has been wearing them now for about 2 wks. and say's they are very comfortable. He loves the easy slip on and go! Like most boy's he is hard on shoe's,,,the great quality of this shoe should last!

We have had this same shoe before. They wear great and my 5 year old loves them. It has not been as good as another Merrell shoe that we previously had, but all in all a great shoe.

Ordered for my 9-yr-old son. He is so hard on shoes. These wear great and fit great. No laces to keep tied! He loves them.

The shoes are great, we went camping and hiking and my boy's liked there shoes. The hiked comfortably and did not slip, and kept their feet dry and cool. Great shoe for active kids.

We ordered these for my youngest son (5-years old) who is a very picky dresser. He loved them out of the box and they are his shoes of choice right now. The fit was excellent and he wears them comfortably with and without socks. They are very easy to put on and adjust and he has no problems at all.
