The Merrell Encore Chill Slide is the best winter shoe. I work at a hospital and the Chill Slide gives me the support I need since I am on my feet all day. I have a bunion but I never feel any pressure or pain when I wear the Chill Slides. I like just sliding on the shoes and go since I get up at the crack of dawn to leave for work. The shoes are true to size even when wearing thick wool socks. My feet never get cold. They are the most comfortable shoe that you'll ever wear. I wear them when I go shopping or running errands. I have been on my feet at work all day and then stood on my feet an additional 7 hours straight while volunteering and my feet and legs never felt tired. Rain, sleet or snow this is the only winter shoe you will need. This is my 3rd pair of Chills. In the fall, I wear the Merrell Encore Groove Slide.

This slip in is totally comfy. It's really cute too but in my size 10 (9.5 in this moc) is that my feet look rather large when I look down- but I guess if you have a size 10 foot- they are rather large! My running shoes are 10, my shoe size suggested by Merrell was 9.0 (based on length). I chose 9.5 which fit perfectly, with socks. You might want to go up .5 from the recommended size if you are concerned about a comfy fit.

This is my 4th pair of Merrell winter slides. They are my favorite shoes --comfortable and warm. I always buy a half size smaller than I usually wear even though I put orthotics in them. They're great even up north where I go to school. The new grey color goes with everything!

I've loved the regular unlined encore slides for many years now, but got my first pair of Chills a few weeks ago -- I'm in love all over again. In fact, I was about to buy some sheepskin slippers when it dawned on me that I'd be much better off just picking up a second pair of these -- they are as comfortable as slippers, but of course more supportive, and at my age (72) I appreciate support, lol. Most pleased with Altrec's service, too; this is my second purchase this month.

These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I have Diabetic neuropathy and they ease the pain. I live in Florida and they are still comfortable in he 90 degree heat. Everyone told me that this was the most comfortable and warm shoe you'll ever own. I didn't believe it until I bought the Encore Chill Slide. I am on my feet all day and I was always complaining of cold, sore and achy feet. The first day that I wore the Encor Chill Slide it was like walking on a soft warm cloud. I will never buy anything else but Merrell products.

These are the greatest shoes yet...cute with jeans, walking the dog, running errands, etc. I live in North Dakota, and they keep my feet toasty. I am in a Juneau, Alaska bar sporting my Merrel shoes and I love them! They are real comfortable and warm. I am so happy to have purchased them just in time before my vacation. I went to Mendehel Glacier while it was pouring rain and I had no complaints in the shivering cold weather. They worked just fine! If you want comfortable warm nice looking shoes I higly recommend them! I am sold on Merrel. This will not be my only and last Merrel Altrec purchase.... :)

This is my second pair of Merrells chill slides and won't be my last! They are my favorite for the winter and I put them on as soon as I get up. Great support and comfort!!Only wish you could easily get new inserts as they wear out long before the shoe does!

I am delighted to find Merrell slip on shoes at this reliable site. I wore out my first pair last year after an uncomfortable bunion caused swelling on my foot. When I found that open-backed shoes were more comfortable I wore my first pair nearly every day. The Encore Stitch Slide is wonderful in ice and snow with its grooved non-slip bottom. It has a slightly elevated heel and is very comfortable. The shoes arrived in 3 days and along with Altrec's great prices I bookmarked the site and will buy again.

I love these shoes! I have owned two pairs of Merrell Primo Chill clogs (similar to the Encore Chill but with different styling) that I have worn almost exclusively the last couple of winters. This year I wanted to add some new colors but discovered that the new Encore Chill might be replacing the Primo Chill. So I ordered the new styles in both the brown suede and the smooth black leather. They are just as warm and comfortable as my old pairs and I am very happy with them. Style wise there is a difference in the tread (I'm not sure yet if this will make any difference in icy or snowy weather yet), the top stitching detail and the rubber piece in the front of the toe is slightly smaller in the newer model. I wear compression stockings so my feet are not bare, but I usually don't need to wear any additional socks except for in the coldest weather. I find them true to size with my stockings or thin socks. If I were really thick socks (like those nubby fleece types) they do fit more snugly of course, but I manage. With time (like the ones I have that are two years old) the interior fluff does matt down a bit, but it doesn't affect the comfort or the warmth, but it does make it easier to fit a thicker sock. They are supportive and really comfortable and I can wear them all day long and be on my feet all day and still feel good in them by bedtime. I highly recommend them.

I searched and searched for the encore chill in my size. Now that I finally have them for the dead of winter I couldn't be happier. I have extremely high arches and the only draw back is that the arch support in the shoe makes my heal ache after extended periods of time. Other than that, they are warm, mostly comfy, and cute!

I have 4 pairs of Chills--starting three years ago. They're warm in New England winters. Slide them on and take the puppy out into miserable weather and they grip--just wear thinner socks or they'll stretch out. The new design is cooler looking and great colors, especially the new smooth leather that is easier to keep clean. Nubuck should be kept clean or the light or bright colors take in greasy stains.
