Warrior Boots

Excellent boots. Ordered half size bigger and they fit perfect. Haven't had a chance to wear them in snow yet but they are warm and perfect for raining days. Highly recommend spending the money to get this product, they are light weight and comfortable, and don't need to break them in.
Waterproof, Comfortable & Warm :)

Great investment with diverse and practical qualities to enhance Wisconsin winters; feet stayed dry and warm during snowshoe endeavors, bitter commutes, frozen Ultimate Frisbee follies, and days on the ice. Feedback is based on 2 months of daily use and wintery excursions. Size fit true to womenÂ’s 9, the Merrell sole was comfortable to stand and run in for long periods of time. No sore heels or backaches after prolonged use. Could wear thin socks and have dry/warm feet. Although I never had to wear my wool socks I did have room for them to fit comfortably- in case. Appreciated the defined ridge on the heel for strapping into my snowshoes and easier repetitive removal when the laces are left loose. The oversized ring above the heel is handy for quick pull on and adjustments. Have received numerous compliments on the aggressive treads and color combination. Style wise the Merrell Whiteout Snow Boots look sharp with my snow pants, jeans, wind pants, and (yes) dress slacks. By far the best pair of winter boots I have had thus and only wish I had purchased them sooner.
Pretty good shoe

These are my first hiking boots. I typically wear a 7.5 in running shoes and read the other reviews and went up a size from that. I ended up getting an 8.5 after several tries. I got the black boot with the purple lace, which worked well for those muddy days on the trails. I have not used them in the snow but they kept my feet nice and warm in the rain. The traction was good on the slippery rocks and mud. The sole was pretty flexible and the upper part was very sturdy. I can't wait to use these in the snow!
Pros: warm, attractiveSo far so good!

I tried several pairs of lace-ups and found Merrells Whiteout 8 snow boots the lightest and most comfortable. (I bought a pair of the Columbia Bugaboos a couple of years ago that just are not comfortable - so decided to look again) The only issue is that these Merrells run small. I always wear a size 8 in Merrell and had to go up a half size as my toes were touching the tip. Not good - when plan on wearing them boots snowshoeing. I wore them the other day with one pair of socks and they were comfortable although a bit loose. Going to try 2 pairs when I go snowshoeing and am hoping for the best.
Pros: lightweight and comfortableGreat Boots

We finally got snow where I live, and I took these out for a test run. The boots are excellent. It was very icy, and the tread grip was outstanding. I discussed sizing with a person on Live Chat, and decided to size up 1/2 size. This was the right choice. They are very comfortable. I always have cold toes, and these helped quite a bit. My feet stayed dry and warm. I highly recommend these boots.
Waterproof Boots

These boots are great. I use these boots for work in a wet environment and they keep my feet dry and warm. I have bought other waterproof boots before but these have to be the best i have bought. I would recommend these boots to anyone.
Comfortable and Warm

These boot were comfortable right out of the box. They aren't stiff and I didn't suffer sore ankles like I have with other boots with a similar style. They are warm, waterproof, and the soles have deep lugs that offer traction on the snow and ice. There is a D-ring for gaiters and a lip on the heel to hold a snowshoe binding in place. I did buy 1/2 size larger to fit a thicker sock but I always to that with winter boots.
Pros: comfortable, warm, great snowshoeing bootNot the Merrell I Know
March 11, 2011
I have been a huge fan and very loyal to Merrell footwear for years and when I purchased this boot and tried it on for the first time I was sorely disappointed for the first time with Merrell. I have ALWAYS worn a size 8.5M in Merrells regardless of type of footwear whether it be shoe, hiker or winter boot. This boot's forefoot is turned upwards and the slanting back of the front tip of the toe box causes the big toe to hit the top of the shoebox. At first, I thought it was the type of socks I had on but even after changing to a thinner sock the same thing occurred. My opinion of Merrell will remain the same and I believe that everyone is entitled to one screw up and this particular boot is Merrells, at least for me. Needless to say, these were returned for a refund which Altrec was very good about facilitating.

I bought the shoes for my wife to use snowshoeing. She liked the style, but the fit was slightly small compared to her Merrell Shoes. We had to exchange for a half size larger than her typical Merrell Shoe size. They are very well made and look pretty rugged. The exchange with Altrec.com was easy.
Great pair of winter boots!

I bought these to replace a 9 year old pair of Columbia boots. These boot live up to my expectations! They are well made, very padded around the ankle, warm and waterproof. Though I did find they run a little narrow and I would suggest sizing a half a size up when ordering. Heavy socks, I found, are not needed when wearing these. I will have these boots for years to come. Merrell makes a great product!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, PerformanceToledo Frozen Tundra

Well, like most of the other reviews, I think this is one tough little boot! It's stiff around the ankle... but it might be due to the great insulation! I doubt that any snow will make its way down the top, because you're able to lace them up tightly. Unfortunately, after wearing mine around the house for a day, they felt a bit snug with a medium weight sock on, so I am returning them for a size up. Overall though, the quality of this boot is great and is perfect for winter hiking in some decent snow!
Pros: Build quality, PerformanceGreat winter hiking boot!
January 12, 2011
I just bought these boots and have only worn them a couple of times hiking. The fit is true to size as with all Merrell shoes I have purchased are comfortable. They kept my feet warm and dry in the 10 degree weather hiking in in knee deep snow. They are very lightweight for warm, waterproof winter boots. They are pretty stiff and will take a little longer to 'break in' than regular hiking boots, but will definately be worth it as they keep my feet warm and dry without weighing me down while hiking in the snowy MT mountains!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Great valueSo far So good

Tried several brands and styles and these were by far the most comfortable. Primary use is snowshoeing. One outing with excellent results. Rated quality and durability lower because the season is still new.
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of use
