Great, all-around pants
April 30, 2013
I've used these mostly for ice climbing this past winter. They are a cold-weather pant, not super thin, with a bit of insulation due to the material. This made them great for ice guiding in Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park in sub-zero temps and on warmer days. All I needed to change was the thickness of my baselayer bottoms depending on the temps of the day. This past spring, though, on a month-long ski trip in British Columbia, I used these pants for a bunch of backcountry touring and loved them just as much for that. On "hot" spring ski tours, I'd go with just the pants (no baselayer) and they were super comfy for high-level output in the skin track. I like the fact that I can own one pair of pants that work for rock-alpine, ice climbing and ski touring. Other pants that can do all three activities look too tight in the legs for ski boots, in my opinion, but these have a zipper cuff that accommodates boots of all sizes. Overall, these pants are a solid choice for any cold-weather activity.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance
